Starting out  from Montalbano we’ll reach the olive grove plain and the ancient Traiana road that in the past connected Rome to Brindisi and today links Fasano and Ostuni with a paved cycling path, with hardly any traffic, full of spots of interest that describe what rural life used to be like. During the tour we explain the history of the olive oil, from cultivation to harvest of olives describing the different production methods depending from on its final use: from the lamp oil to the high quality extra virgin we’ll tell you about the history and the passion developed over the centuries, always in tight connection with the local community. On the trail we will visit an hypogeum oil mill with old millstone and presses, a fortified masseria farmhouse, a modern mill and a centenary olive field. Is possible to arrange an extra virgin olive oil tastings.

One of our favorite experiences of the whole trip!!
We had the absolute best time with Daniele. Before we even arrived, just his contact with us was so friendly and helpful. Upon meeting at the shop, my dad and I took off on bikes through the Olive Groves, stopping to notice credible trees, ancient, constructions, and beauty all around us. It was an absolutely stunning ride, and we felt joyful and appreciative every step of the way. Daniele was full of great information, managing to give us a little soundbites along the way, and giving us a full picture of the magnitude of this beautiful land, and the purpose of the olive Groves/OLIVE OIL, and all of the history around it. We also got to taste OLIVE OIL and learn about what we were tasting. It was so interesting and unlike anything we had ever expected. It truly gave us an appreciation for OLIVE OIL and its process and diversity. We left with a new friend, Daniele, and would recommend any of our friends and family to absolutely go do this tour and see him.

      Highlight of our Puglia Trip!
One of the BIG highlights of our 8 days in Puglia. Our leader Daniale (sp?) was knowledgeable, personable and passionate about the history and culture of olive groves of Puglia. He was a great teacher and the pace was just right. Our advice: do it!!

Active, fun day - saw and learnt loads while having fun
My friend and I spent a wonderful day cycling with Daniele. Visited a working masseria, an ancient cave home/church, olive groves, costal dunes system and costal village, where we stopped for a delicious picnic lunch. Daniele is enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A wonderful day that can be tailored to your needs. Highly recommend.

Super introduction to Puglia olive growing
We loved this cycling tour around the Puglia countryside. Daniele was a font of information on the history of the area and its olive cultivation and we found out lots. The olive oil tasting was great as well. The bikes were good too. Thanks Daniele for your enthusiasm and cheerfulness! Definitely recommended.

      A Surprising and Delicious Delight
Daniele was an outstanding guide who really made this tour exceptional. From our starting point under the carob tree at the Cultural Center, to our final stop for an olive oil tasting at a great charcuterie, we could not have asked for a better experience. Every stop was a delicious delight, and truly an authentic taste of Brindisi. Daniele made it a point to keep us comfortably in the shade much as possible on a hot day, and his running narrative beyond the food was interesting as we moved from stop to stop. I came ashore skeptical, and finished the tour really impressed, informed, and grateful for the experience.

      SO. MUCH. FUN.
Now that we're back in NY and thinking fondly of our days in Puglia, one of our favorite memories is the bike tour with Daniele. Super attuned to what we wanted to do ...and made that match our skill level:) Beautiful ride through a park, with the reward of gorgeous sea views...it's what we came to experience, and this was a perfect morning.

      Wonderful day biking with Daniele
Daniele was so knowledge and made the whole day fun for our kids ages 9, 12, 14 and 16. The ride was a comfortable pace. My youngest got tired near the end and he helped and even pushed her to make it easier. Olive oil tour was very interesting and we bought maybe cans to bring home. He even walked us to his favorite lunch spot and helped us order!

Cycle with Dani in the ancient olive groves and enjoy this spectacular tour!
I had the chance to experience the bike tour with Dani followed by olive oil tasting early March. First of all the weather was perfect, sunny and mild, and the colours all around were simply beautiful. We crossed several fields of olive trees, some of them being many centuries old... Dani is an excellent guide, extremely knowledgeable about the history of the region, and he explains everything from geography, culture, history with a great sense of humor, making the tour very interesting and fun. The olive oil tasting was also a very nice way to close the tour and I was very happy to discover this authentic place where I bought several oilive oil bottles at a super reasonable price. I can only warmly recommend Dani and his tours, he's a great professional and he really enjoys what he does. Bravo!

      5/5 Star Bike Tour
We can’t say enough good things about Daniele and the olive oil bike tour. I had checked a few tour companies and went with Madera and we were so happy we did! It was both educational and enjoyable - he’s pretty funny! The ride was easy and the road was quiet so it was great for all ages. A great addition to a day out in the area. It was also close enough to Ostuni that we were able to visit the town in the afternoon.

      Excellent food tour
The food tour with Fabrizio today was excellent, his passion for the local food is obvious, he seems to know everyone who lives in Brindisi and knows a lot about the history of the place. The food and drink was great, a very good way to spend a few hours in his company.

Best way to explore a city!
This was such a fun food tour of Brindisi! Daniele was entertaining and knowledgeable as he showed us historical sites and local food shops. Without this tour, we 100% would have missed so many great places during our short stay in Brindisi. (We went back to a few of these places the next day.) We had focaccia fresh out of the oven, fresh seafood (crudo and fried), local wine, cheese and meats, and dessert. And we got to talk to the people who made (and sold) the food. It was well worth it and a truly unique way to get to know a new city. I highly recommend this tour. If you're in town for a few days or even a few hours, I suggest checking this out. Be sure to come hungry though!

      Amazing Tour
Danieli gave us an extraordinarily beautiful and wonderful tour around parts of Puglia. He has a fantastic knowledge of the local history and personalities. He showed us amazing sites that are not on the tourist or any other map and that only the most exacting local knowledge would make you discover and took us to restaurants and cafes frequented only by locals. Danieli speaks not just with authority but with passion to make our trip both interesting and uplifting. He is fluent in English and Spanish, as well of course as Italian, and his warm personality made it very easy to communicate with him.

A great way to spend the morning learning about olive oil production and local Masseria’s!
We we’re recommended a bike tour with Daniele by our Airbnb host and thankfully we decided to do it. It was a great way to spend the morning, cycling through the olive trees and learning about the local area. We visited a Masseria to understand its original use and finally visited a local olive oil co-operative to taste local oils. Daniele was very knowledgeable of olive oil production and the local produce such as fresh figs and roadside rocket he picked for us. He was also a good conversationalist and managed to do the tour in perfect English as well as Italian for other guests, a friendly guy with a good sense of humour. Thank you Daniele! We spent a lovely morning on the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Bike tour. Daniele was a great guide and made it interesting and enjoyable and the cycling not too tricky along the old tracks away from traffic. Now we are much more knowledgeable about olive oil and its production and have a small can of the Leccino oil to savour at home. Would thoroughly recommend this tour!

Daniele is an incredibly knowledgeable guide who is so passionate about his heritage, the local area and olive oil production. The bike tour is 3 hours riding through gentle terrain in olive country around Montalbano. Masserias dot the area and there is very little traffic, so the tour is appropriate for most people. The pace is relaxed and there are plenty of opportunities for pictures. Daniele’s sense of humor and vast knowledge of the history of the area kept everyone engaged. We ended the tour at an olive oil cooperative where we had a tour of the processing center and a tasting of 3 different olive oils. A definite “must do” if you are looking for a unique way to learn about olive oil, the history of the area and get some exercise.

We had such a great time on our tour. Daniele is a fantastic guide and gave us a really insightful tour of the olive groves and countryside around Montalbano. The history of the trees, the Masserias and the production of olive oil is fascinating.

The olive oil tasting was fantastic, although we appreciated that there are different qualities and characteristics with olive oil, the tasting really opened our eyes to what we should look for.

We had a great time and highly recommend this tour.

Although we signed up for a group tour, we were actually alone with the charming guide Daniel.
We all enjoyed the sights, the road, and Daniel's impressive historical and agricultural knowledge. We were a family of 3 adults and two children, the bike ride is easy and pleasant (despite the heavy heat), and tasting the olive oil at the end of the trip was a big bonus.
I strongly recommend everyone who comes to the Apulia area to take the tour.

My husband and I absolutely loved our bike tour with Daniele through the olive orchards learning all about the history and current olive harvesting and olive oil production. Daniele was very friendly, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about the history. He was great at guiding us safely on bike through the gorgeous olive orchards. It was more of a leisurely rather than an intense bike ride and the bikes were very comfortable with pouches for our phones and waters that he provided. He showed us caves and a Masseria where they used to make olive oil and then we ended at a modern cooperative where he showed us how olive oil is now produced and guided us through a tasting of the delicious olive oil. We did the 430 tour and it ended up being a private tour with Daniele and he spent an extensive amount of time (~3 hours) with us. It was gorgeous at golden hour and a comfortable temperature in August. It was a really unique experience that we highly recommend!!!

Best Tour Ever! Daniele is so knowledgeable, personable and funny. He is also passionate about this part of the world and the subject of this tour - olives. He has a wealth of information - antidotal, historical etc… who knew there is such a difference between virgin & extra virgin olive oils!? Daniele also recommended an excellent restaurant for lunch nearby - Il Cortiletto. Thank you Daniele!
