      Outrageous commission
Do not use ""shinkansen-ticket.com'' they just charged me 55,000 yen for 15,000 yen ticket. They also put me in a seat that was useless. Thankfully someone swapped with me so I could see out the window. I have sent a complaint. we will see.

      Nikko Tour
Beautiful location and the tour guides were fantastic. They were high energy and did their best to keep us entertained, both at Nikko and on the way there and back. They taught us about daily life in Japan (education, history, religion) and also taught us basic Japanese phrases and even some origami on the way back. Mai (I believe that was her name) told us she had a background in education and it showed. She specifically was friendly, approachable, and answered all the questions I had. I had a blast on this trip. The only thing I would have done differently is to go in the summer!

Yoshi-san was an exceptional guide who really made an effort to make this daytrip interesting and well run. She possessed good communication skills and was a delight to engage in conversation! I highly recommend!

Mobal SIM - hit or miss, only partial refund
I have used Mobal SIM cards on two trips to Japan now. The card works fine in my phone. However, in an older phone of visiting family it did not. The refund policy seemed to imply a full refund if you cancel within eight days but only the SIM card is refunded, the larger (almost 4000 yen) line charge is lost. We wasted quite some money for nothing. For the phone that works the SIM card does well.

Good summary of Nikko in one day
The tour covered the key world heritage sites in Nikko. Coach was comfortable with good leg room. Tour guide was well briefed. Coach driver was excellent. The only issue we faced was being emailed incorrect information regarding the coach colour and registration number for pick up at Shinjuku. Also we were lucky to find our tour guide at the pickup place as she was not waving her flag as also advised.

Nikko Toshogu shrine in Unesco and Nikko national park mountain beauties
Nikko world heritage is not very known by tourists and also therefore we were just small minibus with 7 people. Unfortunately on our way to Nikko there was a traffic jam which shortened a bit time on each location. The tour was well organized and our English speaking guide (lady) was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately as she did not have a microphone - when traffic around was loud, we could not hear her properly. Our 1st and most important stop was Nikko Toshogu Shrine which is complex of several temples, pagoda etc. which are registered in Unesco. You could spend hours here. Beautifully carved wooden temples. As there are many stairs - this place is adventurous for people with walking difficulties. Then we stopped at Kegon Falls - which is 100 meter high waterfall (I recommend also to take also a lift down to the bottom of the fall). Then we stopped at lake Chuzengi which mountain lake and to it we took 24 curves road. As we had only half hour at the lake - we just had short walk - as it was not able to take a boat. Several people including me had lunch option which was vegetarian lunch - it was ok, but nothing special. Overall it was nice trip and Nikko Toshogu shrine is really worth to visit.

A “must do” while visiting Tokyo
What a great deal! My wife and I had a wonderful time! Worth every penny! We enjoyed wonderful freshly picked varieties of grapes, had a delicious lunch, saw lots of great views of Mt. Fuji, and the tour guide was very nice.

      Value for money
The tour was good as we got a good glimpse of Mt Fuji. The tour included a fruit farm which was a highlight for us as it is peach season so we had a great time fruit plucking. There was also a cable car ride to a hill where we can see Mt Fuji too. Also included was a traditional Japanese lunch which was sumptuous. We also en route to a small flower farm where lavender was flourishing. Finally, the last stop was the fifth station of Mt Fuji.

A MUST IF YOU LIKE A PERFECT SPOT TO SEE MT. FUJI
Amazing! This tour is friendly to your pocket. You get to enjoy unlimited seasonal fruits, on out trip its the strawberries. The panoromic view of Mt. Fuji is perfect. For someone like me, this is a perfect spot. If you'd like to experience the swing though, you got to reserve ticket as early as possible as it took us quite a time because of long queu. Over all this tour is highly recommended.

      Poor tour experience
The Mt. Fuji pirate ship tour is a poor experience. The pirate ship was really a ferry ride across a lake. Yes it looked like a sailing ship but so what. Our tour guide was Chinese and spoke poor English. She held a microphone to an iPad for any commentary that was provided. There were babies on the bus with all of the noise and smells associated with babies. Not what I expected at all. The lunch was this tours saving grace. Shabu shabu. Excellent. The tour ended by holding us ransom at some terrible shopping mall for 2.5 hours. Must be the only place in Japan that doesn’t allow smoking except outside the precinct like second class citizens. And then to top it all off we were not returned to our pick up point and had to make our way through an unfamiliar red light district in the dark. Unacceptable. Needless to say I will never book a tour again through this company. I advise you to steer clear unless you enjoy being treated as a cash cow.

      It's not what you think....
Ok let me start with the bad, be prepared for. Loooong day, but not much activity. Slick advertising, so so,lunch, less than an hour at each attraction and aloooooog bus ride with no Wi-Fi . First thing is the instruction to the meeting area is not very clear, yo must take the west exit in Shibuya and be on the bus level or street level. We couldn't find it just by walking so I used my cell phone app to guide me. Ok now you are at the rally point which is actually the rally point for a number of other tours so you need to look around for your guide, ok found her. You will be assigned a seat . The guide speak very little English ,so they use a CL phone call in system to a translation service they broadcast in the bus, if you have a sense of humor, it's actually funny hearing the lost in translation. Don't be fooled by,the slick advertising , there is,no Wi-Fi available on the bus, this was a major disappointment because I had planned to to,some work on the long ride out to the ski resort. The bus ride was comfortable ,but it took about 2.5 hours to reach the sledding area. There was one restroom stop along the way. Sledding was fun but we only spent less than one hour sledding. It was actually a kiddie snow play land. So if you have young ones I think they will love it, but given the short time there you feel very rushed. Nest stop was lunch, again , don't be fooled by the slick advertising photo, the crab is nothing like pictured, crab were very small pieces, served cold, there was also all,you can eat raw shrimp, a mini hot pot and soba noodles with rice. It was good, but not great, it was all you can eat and the staff were always there to give you more of what you wanted. Snow cave ... Ha! It was just a huge pile,of snow in the restaurant parking lot that some one made a cave out of, looking at the mound I was reluctant to go in for fear of collapse however I suppose it was safe? Onto strawberry picking, ok so before you get to pick strawberry, you stop at the strawberry farm store! And of course they sell everything strawberry , ... Tourist trap thing so if you are a seasoned traveler you been there done that. Strawberry picking, actually it was as advertise, yes it snowing out side but they cultivate strawberry in hot houses so pick away and eat to your hearts content. The bus ride back took over 3 hours, and traffic was a mess. Best part of the day was meeting a family form Hong Kong. Do I recommend it? No, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't what was advertised. 6 hours on a bus for one hour of sledding..you decide.

Overall this was a very good tour, it is well organised, our guide Thomas was really great and so interested in making sure everyone was safe and catered for. The bus leaves Tokyo and has a service station stop then lunch stop, these were both ok. Then back on bus and up to snow monkey park, it is around 15 minutes walk to get to the trail and then 30 minutes along the trail to the park entrance. This can be quite slippy so walk within limits. The monkeys were out in force so no issue not having something to watch then another 45 min walk back. Then a short visit to the snow globe village and back on the bus to Tokyo via another service station stop.

The bus was a bit uncomfortable, too small compared to other tour buses we were on, no tables or chargers, for that length of travel a bigger space would be much better. The guide Thomas was great but a little difficult to understand and his posters to explain things were hilarious. He was such good fun
    Lunch break food was ok

This was an unforgettable day! The bus ride was clean and comfortable and as a solo traveller I had my seat row to myself which is always a nice bonus (seats were assigned so make a note when reserving if you need a specific seat). Lunch was delicious and well timed during the voyage. The snow monkey park was next and WOW! The park itself was spectacular and truly exceeded my (already high) expectations. I could’ve stayed all day and would’ve loved just a little longer here. If you are not comfortable with a 40-60 minute walk on the snow/ice to get to the park, I would avoid this activity; we had fresh powder so it wasn’t too slippery but I imagine it would be incredibly slippery without the fresh snow. The tour did offer crampons for an additional ¥1300 if you need them- if you think you may need them, definitely get them! We next visited the Kamakura Snow Dome Village at which the mountains and natural scenery were my highlights as it is a very small area- but a beautiful resting point nonetheless! The drive home took a little longer due to traffic but they accommodated by adding an extra rest stop to grab snacks or use the washroom. It is a long day, but if you want to see the monkeys it is absolutely worth the long journey! I will never forget this day. My guide Yumi and her assistant Yasu as well as our drivers were incredibly kind, informative, and approachable. There was no point in the day where I didn’t know exactly where I needed to go or what I needed to do. I also loved that you get to enjoy the monkey park independently rather than at the pace of the group! Overall, a fabulous day tour for anyone that feels confident about 40-60 minutes of icy hiking/walking both to and from the monkeys.

An amazing day trip from Tokyo! Yes, the drive is long and so worth it to walk in the snow and see these wonderful animals. Truly the highlight to this visit. Our guide, Masa, was wonderful and let us relax on the drive with a well timed stop at the halfway mark of the drive in each direction. The drivers were so friendly, too. The Sukiyaki lunch was fresh and delicious. Everything was setup and ready for us upon arrival which helped us keep to the schedule. The snow monkey park was enchanting with fresh snowfall. Definitely check the weather and come prepared for cold and slippery footing. Crampons are available at the shop for those who show up in sneakers. The monkeys are fun to watch as they scramble around the hillsides and play in the hot water. They really don't care about the humans walking around.

Since I visited in late January, we also got to visit Kamakura snow huts. Hard to believe you'd want to enjoy dinner in a snow hut, but they are cool, especially as night fell and the lights were brought in.

We take great care in the selection of our guides and we are more than happy to see that you have appreciated the enthusiasm and professionalism of our guide, Masa. Your words encourage him greatly. I don’t what it is about these creatures that has people sit on a bus for 7 hours to spend about an hour with them in the freezing snow but it’s so worth it. I found our guide boring - he didn’t tell us anything about the area except to warn us it might be slippery. I almost didn’t do the 1.6Km walk there and back but I’m glad I did it was totally worth it and to get snowed on was a bonus.

Despite the long drive, it was worth it to see the really cute monkeys. They are definitely not shy, though only one was taking advantage of the hot springs.
The sukiyaki lunch was one of the best of our stay in Japan.
I would recommend renting the spikes if the path is icy. I got away with trail shoes, but other people were slipping and sliding.

One of the highlights of our Japan trip! Travel to the Snow monkey park takes around 4hrs and then it’s a 30min walk before you actually see any monkeys. The walk can be icy so ensure you wear appropriate shoes. The sukiyaki lunch was delicious and filling.
Our tour guide Keiji was engaging and played a Japanese trivia quiz with us while on the bus to pass some time.
Once at the park, you are free to roam, observe and take pics while the monkeys are not at all intrigued by the humans. A very well organised tour - highly recommended!

The guide was easy to understand and was cheerful. The bus ride didn't feel that long. Once we got there, the trek up the mountain was beautiful but a bit treacherous in spots. I would recommend ice cleats on your shoes. Fun excursion tonIt would've been nice to have been able to spend a little more time watching and photographing the monkeys but considering the drive back, it was understandable.

Absolutely incredible visit with the snow monkeys. It’s a rather long drive (about 3.5 hours each way), so I debated if I should do it. But then I thought when would I have this opportunity again? Soooo glad I booked this tour. Our guide, Yu, was absolutely amazing. The drivers were awesome. Really really appreciate their outgoing niceness.

Watching the snow monkeys was just surreal. Book the tour!

Must go. Great experience. My wife and I an another couple were the only non Japanese participants. Our tour guide Mae spoke English and was wonderful. Also the lunch at an apple Prichard was traditional Japanese meal and was great. The almost 2 mile hike up the mountain is t hard and very beautiful. The Monkeys were wonderful. Should go.
