Great tour for Japan first timers
The tour was great. The guide (Satoko) was very nice and informative. She also taught us how to use the subway and train systems along the way, which greatly enhanced the rest of our time spent in Japan.

    Introduction to Tokyo
Re reference 1508914131: Already gave feedback, but maybe it did not take. I did send a number of photos with that review. Uta was a gem of a guide. He was personable and knowledgeable. His English was very understandable, unlike other guides in Japan. His introduction into Japanese society for us began when he picked us up in Narita. A favorite Tokyo site for me would be the Meiji Shrine, so peaceful and so Japanese.

The only way to appreciate Japan.
The tours are a must. they give a more authentic picture of the culture and spectacular streets. The tour guides are locals and provide excellent information and directions.

Fantastic tour that took us into hidden spots we never would have found
My husband and I booked the private tour of Golden Gai bars and izakayas because we thought realistically we would not really be able to find spots that weren’t extremely touristy and crowded, or wouldn’t really be able to figure out the etiquette in places that WEREN’T for tourists. That turned out to be exactly the right decision because our tour guide Celeste took us to three spots that were off the beaten path, not crowded (it was also pretty early, which suited our jet lagged selves), and were extremely interesting and cozy in their own ways! They were places you definitely needed to know were there you wouldn’t end up in them— one was in an unmarked door down an alleyway I think. The staff there were the best!! Celeste was a wonderful guide and answered all our questions, and did a great job of customizing the tour as needed to our interests and our comfort level. This is a great option for anyone wanting to experience Golden Gai and Shinjuku nightlife but who maybe isn’t the “drink all night with strangers” kind of person.

Perfect start to our tour with an amazing guide
We started our trip from Tokyo and Ryuto was our first guide. We explored Senso-ji temple, streets of Asakusa and shopping heaven Ginza with him. He was very clear and patient English speaking guide with detailed knowledge about the places we visited. He helped us understand how rail lines work in Japan, the hot spots and offbeat places to visit and also a very clear picture of entire Tokyo city. Best part is we got to experience the best of street food Tokyo had to offer and the shopping places for our travel. Eagerly looking fwd to visit again and meet him! We now got a friend in Tokyo :)

The best tour we have done
Ryuto was an amazing guide. So friendly and helpful. He went at our pace, and was aware of our needs throughout. I would unreservedly recommend him to anyone thinking of doing this tour.

Perfect start to a Tokyo trip
What a great way to see Shinjuku for the first time. Our guide was amazing and created the perfect walking tour for myself and 4 adult(ish) kids. All adjusted in real time as we went - from finding excellent ramen to the perfect bar. So good.

Unique private tour of Shinjuku nightlife with Ryuto
Highly recommend you add this tour to your next trip to Tokyo! Couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide and experience. We had such a great time with Ryuto as he showed us around the area and adapted the tour to suit. Having that local experience at our finger tips was invaluable and we definitely wouldn’t have been able to recreate such an awesome night without him. Thanks Ryuto! From Court, Ollie, Anna and Shane

A perfect first evening in Shinjuku
This experience was wonderful, from start to finish! My tour guide, Sarah, was very knowledgeable of the area and was able to give me both historical and current info about the area that enhanced my experience while in Tokyo. I went and had Japanese BBQ for the first time, and the spit was perfect. I got to try all sorts of new foods I've never had! The walk through Shinjuku afterwards was great as well. But the true crown jewel of this experience was the fact that Sarah had been listening when I mentioned I was a metalhead, and brought me to a bar specifically tailored to my community! I went there many times during my two weeks here, and this is all thanks to Sarah and this tour! So thank you a thousand times over, and I will ALWAYS strongly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore the Shinjuku area!

    Shinjuku at night
We had a great time on this tour. I wanted to show my 14 year old Shinjuku at night with the comfort of a guide and Louie was a perfect host.

    Disappointing, wouldn't recommend.
I expected more from this tour than a quick walk through the alley and Kabukicho. We only visited one restaurant (with disappointing food recommendations), and zero drinks were suggested (and we had to pay out of pocket). A bar crawl should have lots of bars, with significant history of drinks provided.

    Shinjuku with Uri
Uri was a truly fantastic guide! We could not have asked for a better guide! He was extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of Shinjuku. He was also like an old friend we enjoyed hanging out with! He took us to some really cool places and knew some much about them. He is great at conversation and helping you to feel comfortable in Japan, especially in local bars/places where you might feel nervous to enter as a foreigner. He definitely took us to bars/places that we never would have spotted on our own. His English is perfect, he is funny and so much fun to spend time with! We already miss him a lot! :) The best highlight of our trip!!

    Fun and entertaining
It was nice to have a local showing us the nightlife and areas where to go. Also great she could speak for us and help make the experience great. Having the experience and guiding us was so key.

    Shinjuku night life
Was a great experience! Celeste took us all around Shinjuku. Was able to experience Golden Gai and all that it offered. We tried three different bars, we would not have not existed if for not Celeste's expertise. We did this excursion the same day that we landed, which was awesome, because we visited Shinjuku again later on our vacation and were able to Navigate ourselves throughout Shinjuku and all its glory. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Highlight of our trip - drink like a local!
You will not regret booking this tour! Our guide Ryuto (aka Louis) was the dream tour guide! Open and knowledgeable, he made it feel like you were on the tour with a friend. My partner and I started on the tour with just the two of us, but ran into people Louis had taken on tours earlier in the week, and ended up drinking with a whole group - so much fun. Louis then took us to a number of great little bars - places we never would have gone to or even known were there without him guiding us - places only the locals knew about. This night was one of the highlights of our trip! Thanks Louis! We’ll be recommending you to any of our friends heading to Tokyo.
