      Awesome and fun class
Class is well organized and easy to follow. The staff are friendly and patient. They let you take your time to cut your vegetables and practice wrapping your dumplings. The owner Vivian gave me great tips on wrapping technique and how to simmer the ginger in sesame oil to make delicious chicken soup. And best of all, you get to eat a yummy multi-course meal that you just cooked and finish with a boba tea drink! I was so full after class that I didn’t need dinner. Fantastic and fun class to learn Taiwanese cooking!

      Must-do if you’re in Taipei!
We had a great time! Our teacher was knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. The recipes were also authentic and delicious. We definitely recommend this even if you have just a few days in Taipei.

      Disappointed
They contacted us a couple of days before and asked us to move to a different date. We were unable to do that so we had to cancel. Disappointed.

      Best cooking class!
This is probably the best cooking class I've ever taken. The kitchen is immaculate, so well organized and comfortable. There are even drawers underneath each working station that hold exactly what you will need to make the recipes (i.e. exact measuring spoon, etc.) I had Jennifer for a teacher and I was truly sorry to say goodbye after the class. Everyone was so accommodating and even changed my class date at the last minute. And the food (thought I'd never get to it) was absolutely delicious. Restaurant quality (I was a caterer in LA for twenty years). Go, enjoy and say hi for me.

An Exceptional Culinary Journey with CookingFun Taiwan's Xiao Long Bao and More Cooking Class!
As a family of four, we embarked on an unforgettable adventure at the CookingFun Taiwan cooking class. Our anticipation was high, but little did we know that this experience would surpass even our loftiest expectations. From the moment we stepped into the class, we were welcomed by an atmosphere of warmth and excitement. Xiao Long Bao has always held a special place in our hearts, and we've savored its exquisite flavors at renowned establishments like Ding Tai Fung. Yet, the notion of crafting our own succulent Xiao Long Bao seemed like a distant dream. However, that dream became a reality, and the taste? Oh, the taste was divine – comparable, if not superior, to the legendary Ding Tai Fung! Under the guidance of a masterful main cooking teacher and a team of talented individuals, we delved into the art of crafting these parcels of perfection. Moreover, we shared this journey with an eclectic group hailing from Taiwan, Norway, Singapore, and our homeland, the United States. The staff's multilingual prowess made communication a breeze, fostering a sense of unity that transcended language barriers. The class was more than a mere culinary endeavor; it was an education that embraced both technique and rationale. Beyond mastering the intricate steps, we gained insights into ingredient selection, seasoning nuances, and the cultural significance underpinning each element. Patiently, our teacher and the staff guided us through the art of wrapping Xiao Long Bao, addressing our inquiries gracefully. An unexpected delight was that we could create Xiao Long Bao from scratch – crafting the delicate flour wrap, thinner and more delicate than those served in restaurants. The aroma of Chicken Vermicelli with Mushroom and Sesame Oil Soup enveloped the room, tickling our senses as we prepared this comforting dish. We were enlightened on the art of precision while slicing carrots and tofu, transforming mere ingredients into edible artworks. And then there was the revelation of crafting Black Sugar Boba Milk Tea – an enigma demystified, transforming us into milk tea maestros. As the class drew to a close, a sense of accomplishment enveloped us. We were presented with the culmination of our efforts – a feast crafted by our own hands. An enchanting camaraderie blossomed between us and our fellow participants, culminating in a heartwarming exchange of experiences and laughter. Throughout this three-hour extravaganza, the air was electric with joy and learning. It wasn't just about recipes; it was about weaving stories through flavors, connecting cultures through the shared joy of culinary exploration. I wholeheartedly endorse CookingFun Taiwan's Taiwan Traditional Delicacies Experience to anyone contemplating this culinary journey. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a world where education and excitement converge, leaving you with cherished memories, newfound skills, and a heart brimming with gratitude.

      Cooking Fun is SOOOO fun!
Our family was visiting Taipei for a holiday and took the opportunity to learn how to prepare some dishes. The atmosphere was awesome, very friendly and the kitchen area is perfect for group cooking. The inspection was in English, and there was zero miscommunication. It was a lovely experience and we plan to come again on our next visit.

      Best Activity to Do!
This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! The instructor made it fun to learn, easy to follow and the dishes came out amazing. Also, one of the best meals we had on our trip. Photos taken during the session and the recipes were sent to us after the class so we could just have fun.

      Must do
Amazing experience learning to cook traditional dishes. Instructors, Dawn and Vicky, were fantastic. We were well taken care of and they even baked a surprise for my wife’s birthday, unprompted. Will recommend for anyone visiting Taipei.

      Great time and great food
The class was great. The teachers were very organized, the place had a great set up and very clean. The room was built and designed for hands on cooking classes. We often take cooking classes when we travel and this was one of the best we have done! They even provide the recipes for you to take home with you.

    Summary:
My wife and I visited on only our second day in Taipei, and we were very pleased with this experience. There were no language barrier issues (English) and the quality of instruction was great if not a little fast. The food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

    Location:
Head south from Sun Yat Sen Memorial Station (Exit 2) on the MRT Blue Line
It is on the second floor of a small building. There is a sign outside.
The surrounding area is pretty and has some cute food places (though after this lesson we were not hungry :D)!

    Lesson:
The entirely of the course was translated by one of the staff who was also capable of performing the cooking tasks, they were very friendly. We had an open class with two other families (9 people total). The expectation was that you had some knowledge of cooking skills; they were happy to help those who did not know how to execute tasks, but it went a little more slowly because they had to help. When necessary they stepped in to take over some of the tasks.
We cooked the dishes mentioned, and were able to eat the dishes after completing them. They made accomodations for those with dietary restrictions if those restrictions were made beforehand. Everything was delicious and we had a wonderful time!

    Additional Notes/Tips:

We booked this through Chase Travel Experiences - Chase Travel has it written that transport/pickup from your hotel is included, but this is inaccurate. Please travel here by your own means.

They sell associated goods that we used during our cooking class; if you can plan to take something back with you, please plan accordingly.

This was fun from start to finish! Everything was set up and ready for us on arrival. Our teacher spoke great English and taught us so much about our dishes and the culture surround them. Our food turned out great and I can’t wait to try and replicate them when I return home. Don’t miss this fun activity!
