David Liaw is a very experienced, knowledgeable and patient tour guide. He will share international news with us and crack jokes to lighten the mood in his new MPV. We were with him from 30 Mar to 8 Apr and this is our third trip thus far. We went Taichung, Cingjing, Miaoli and of course Taipei.... and we experienced the earthquake on 3 Apr 758am! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we will not hesitate to recommend David to anyone who wishes to visit Taiwan.

We really had enjoyable and amazing experiences during our 9 days private tour in Taiwan with uncle David including Airport Pick up and Airport Drop off. We visited major beautiful places in Taiwan, including Taichung city, Taichung Garden Center, Lavender Cottage, Sunmoon Lake, Formosa Aboriginal Cultural Village, Wen Wu Temple, Kaoshiung City, Fo Guang San Buddha museum, Lotus Pond, Chiang Kai Sek Memorial Place, Presidential Palace, Yilan/Jiaoxi Hot Springs, National Center Traditional Arts, Mr. Brown Cafe / Kavalan Distillery, Yehliu Geopark, Jiufen old street, Shihfen Sky Lantern, Jinshan, Tamsui, and Taipei city. We also had chances to buy Chun Sui Tang Bubble Tea Original Store in Taichung and ChiaTe cake in Taipei city. We also tried some local dishes suggested by uncle David. Furthermore, Uncle David drives the car very safe and his van is clean & spacious during our trip. The best thing is he not only drives the car, but he also guides you to place that we visited in Taiwan. He explained to you every detail of the places we visited so we really got the knowledge and history of Taiwan. He always comes early to pick up in the hotel and provide us with some fresh fruits. We had a five days custom trip (Moon Lake, AliSheen,Taroko National Park, Hualien, Yelan) with David. We are very happy with him. David is a very careful driver, knoweledgeable and polite. He gave a lot of great food recommendations at each travel location. Will highly recommend to my friend

Inflexible and rigid in everything, no PayPal or other forms of payment, refused to explore .. insisted on bank transfer for deposit which made us incur USD20 transaction fee but we decided to go ahead with them cause we read good reviews online, much to our dissapointment. When our bus arrived we realised the tour guide and driver was not even David but someone who only spoke mandarin.. he wasn’t even a guide, merely a driver who barely spoke to us. Insisted on sticking with the itinerary planned for us but when we decided to change itinerary, we were met with resistance. Driver also had absolutely no initiative, he would drop us at locations like along the side of the main road or at the bus waiting area for his convenience. We were traveling with young children and seniors. However to be fair, the bus was always on time and was clean. But if you’re like us, willing to pay more for better service, or prefer a guide , suggest you look elsewhere cause this company is not worth it.

We wanted to express our sincere gratitude to David for the exceptional tour experience in Taiwan. David communicated fluently in both English and Mandarin and his vast knowledge and professionalism made the planning and the trip itself a breeze. He drove a large and comfortable MPV for 6 of us. Of course his driving was so good that some or most of us fell asleep on the longer journeys. Furthermore, David has a cheerful personality which added a delightful side to our journey. His humor, anecdotes, and engaging storytelling kept us entertained throughout the trip. He balanced history and information with jokes, ensuring that every moment was enjoyable. Overall, we were very grateful to David for his outstanding service as our tour guide in Taiwan. We will highly recommend his services to anyone planning a trip to Taiwan. Sean was assigned to us as our private tour guide by My Taiwan Journey, even though he has his own company "Let's Go Formosa". Sean's English is perfect as he studied in the USA for several years. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all the tourist sites, as well as the historical, cultural, and political aspects of Taiwan. He is upbeat and enthusiastic, and obviously loves being a guide. During our two days with him, we felt like we learned a lot about the country, but didn't feel like he overburdened us with information. He is a very good driver and took us to local 'gems'. At the same time, he seemed genuinely interested in a number of topics of interest to us. All in all, if you have the opportunity to ask for Sean for guiding, do it!!

David was recommended by Nick Kembel (taiwanobsessed.com - extraordinary resource for anyone visiting Taiwan!); we also approached David because he has a commercial driver's license as well as a tour guide license. I told him the general idea of where we wanted to go over the course of 7 days, and he came back with a general itinerary, which I then tweaked to suit our interests. We were a group of 5 (ages ranging from 6 to 82!) and he made sure we were all taken care of, and communicated with us in English, Taiwanese, and Mandarin - whatever fit the situation and person! David is incredibly knowledgeable in terms of getting around, and also in terms of history, politics, religion, business, tech, even pop culture - the breadth and depth of stuff he knows is astounding. Multiple times during our trip, my husband and I said something along the lines of ‘Wow - we never would’ve been able to pull this off on our own!’ Sometimes he dropped us off to explore and we'd meet back up at a set time / place, and sometimes he guided us through sites. I had originally wondered if we'd feel crowded over our time with him, but it was really the perfect balance over the week. He was always early, very responsive to texts, easygoing with requests, and funny; he brought us fresh fruit from the market, took into consideration our interests, and found us suitable restaurants (we are vegan). I have already recommended David and My Taiwan Journey to family members in Taiwan, and would would call him up again if / when we return to Taiwan someday - he completely shaped and enhanced our visit.

David is a wealth of knowledge. He is safe driver and also gives good guided tour. Be prepared to learn a lot about Taiwan and have unique experiences! Recommend!

Uncle David is very awesome, friendly and best driver/tour guide. Trip would never be as seamless as it was without him. No. 1 advise from him: get a New Balance shoes and just keep walking. You can get free advice from him about starting a bussiness. He would not ask you for extra charges even if the tour is already beyond 8 hours. He would tell jokes so that the trip will not be boring and the history of every place that we went on.
