Lawrence (our tour guide) was very personable (with a great playlist) and a fully outfitted vehicle (with multiple umbrellas, bottles of water, and charging cords, power banks, and outlets). It was overcast and sprinkling the day we went, but still a great day for me and my friends (seven other college students)! I would however almost recommend spending a full day in Jiufen (less for sightseeing and more to relax in the environment there at one of their many hideaway tea houses with fantastic mountain-valley views).

My family booked this Taiwan trip. Steve Wang was our tour guide; he contacted me a few hours before the scheduled pick-up. Steve showed up early and was very accommodating during the entire trip. Steve was extremely knowledgeable. We did everything on our itinerary (as outlined in the Tripadvisor itinerary). Steve took us to a local favorite lunch spot and the food was absolutely delicious! We couldn't be happier with this trip -- thanks to Steve! I booked another tour in Japan but this tour was much better with the help of Steve who made it one of the most memorable trip for our family. Some of our family destination spots were Pingxi, Jiufen, and Shifen. Steve also stopped at additional places so that we can take pictures of the beautiful Japan Sea and at the coastline. Thank you a thousand times to Steve for being so accommodating and hospitable during this trip! We truly enjoyed every minute of this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable trip to Taiwan. A+++++++++

I explored the unique culture in Jiufen and Pingxi. Different from the urban view in Taipei, Jiufen features a Japanese nostalgic atmosphere. The scenery is really good on the top of the hill!

We arranged a private full day tour that includes Jiufen and Pingxi. Our tour guide that day was Terry. He was very professional and an excellent guide. We had an Amazing time in Taiwan.

In order to let us experience the ancient railway of Pingxi line Taiwan, the tour guide led us to take the railway from the Shih-fen to the Houtong. Because we are special to watch cats, we almost stay here. Every cat in cat village has its own name, but the tour guide also specially asks us not to touch the cat when traveling to the Houtong and please wash your hands so that you can’t take the germs home. But cats epidemic don't spread to people, so don't be too scared and visitors can feed cats.

Our english speaking guide is Ken who is very fluent. He is very helpful during the whole trip, advising us of safety precautions, history, different areas we go into and other useful instructions. There was no problem in the booking and pick up and even drop off.

From Fukuyama palace to Jiufen old street, we saw the beautiful night view of the mountain city. The atmosphere of the Jiufen during the day and night is completely different. Jiufen in the setting sun looks like a beautiful girl who slowly wakes up, the sun illuminates the appearance of the pure city. But the Jiufen at night looks like a charming woman, the street is covered with red lanterns and the atmosphere is very romantic.

It's a Jiufen and Pingxi tour but how come the itinerary are only to the waterfall and shifen(Pingxi) and nothing of Jiufen old street and all that?
