- 927joanc00very nice half day tripJackie Chen was great!! there was thunderstorm at the beginning of our tour but his positivity and enthusiasm made everyone felt safe and comfortable and had a great time. tea tasting at the end was very educational! highly recommend this tour!
- JFAVPTA00An enjoyable tour at a reasonable priceThe tour was well-paced and executed, and the bud was cool and comfortable. The guide was personable and provided information in several different languages. Our party of six all enjoyed the experience!
- Kit062000Look for JACKY CHAN as your guideOur tour guide JACKY CHAN was very accommodating and made the tour delightful and hassle free. Ask for him in your next trip to Taiwan
- Amelia N00Fun filled tourMy family and I enjoyed being guided through the 3 sites! This tour was jam packed! Jackie was kind and informative. :):)
- F1236SErobinl00Wonderful experience!David, our tour guide was marvelous and brought us to the wonderful places on the itinerary and share with us the history of the places as well as some of the landmarks along the journey. Our aging parents was also well taken care and we thoroughly enjoyed this short trip to Taichung and sun moon lake.
- Anthony H00Scenic views with some insights into Taiwan's historyOur tour guide Tony was very friendly, knowledgeable and patient, he took the time to explain the history of Yangmingshan and Beitou . The scenery in Yangmingshan and Beitou was quite wonderful. At Yangmingshan is some light hiking, with a few more challenging areas for hiking that are optional.
- einnah00Tasty Tea TastingThis tour was the second we reserved in Taiwan and it paled in comparison to the first one we participated in. We booked the tour through GetYourGuide and it was offered by Edison Travel based in Taiwan. Our guide, Walter, was polite and professional but we felt he missed the mark on providing some more in-depth information about the tea plantations. This was a half-day trip, but we felt a little rushed. The most enjoyable part of the tour was stopping off at a local tea shop in Pinglin and learning from the 76-year-old tea sommelier the basics of tea tasting. We walked away with bags of tea, tea candy, and tea cups - with a new sense of appreciation for tea.
- Passport2568206187900Informative and enjoyableA beautiful tour, led by the amazing Jackie. Learning everything about the farming of tea, to processing the tea, to professionally making and enjoying the tea.
- Perry W00TEA for 2Do It ! If you have a day to spare. Our guide Paul was casual and pleasant. Just one advice : If it’s possible, bring an umbrella ( to shield from the sun and extreme heat when there’s no trees or overhead coverings around ). That’s it and take lots of photographs.
- PAperegrinator00Intro to Gay TaiwanWe had an amazing private tour with Ron from Edison Tours. He was extremely knowledgeable about Taipei and Taiwan, including indigenous tribes, religions, history, and politics, especially queer politics. He showed us all the sites on our list—and then some we hadn’t considered but which were really fascinating. In addition to showing us the gay neighborhoods and key sites from Taiwanese LGBTQ movies and television shows that we had been studying, he also took us to a couple of temples, such as the Rabbit God (who protects same-sex relationships) and the Foxy Lady (who can help make people beautiful and popular), and showed us how to make offerings. Along the way and over lunch and coffee, he shared his life story and answered many, many questions. It was a real exchange that gave us a deeper understanding of Taiwanese culture and family life. Ron’s English is excellent and he has a very charming and warm personality. It was clear from the tour that he really loves his home city and country and is quite passionate about showing it to visitors. We had worked with him to put together a full schedule that must have been as exhausting for him as it turned out to be for us. Yet he remained affable and energetic throughout. Our expert driver who accompanied us for the day kept us safe and relaxed driving through the crowded city streets. The entire tour was worth the price and we would do it again in a heartbeat!
- B19CDjerryh00Hot SpringsHighlight was the hot springs. Our host was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The National Park was a cool break from the torrid Taipei heat.
- Nazie_0100Full day ruse to Beitou and YangmingshanOur guide was a kind, knowledgeable and accomodating gentleman. My disappointment was the sites that was focussed upon. I feel that they tried to fill a day tour by slotting in a 20 minute foot soak in an overcrowded little hot spring, Beitou library and hot spring museum was unnecessary as was Chiang Kai Sheks summer house. The time would have been better spent visiting The Palace Museum or the Monastery.
- Traveler6404518040900A half day tourFantastic experience really great host who explained everything. He was super interesting I will 100 percent request him again. The tour it's self was fantastic I did not realise how beautiful Taiwan is
- ledget202300"Exceptional Taichung Tour with Edison"I recently went on a tour to Taichung with Edison Tour and it was a fantastic experience! The tour guide was incredibly kind and well versed in the city's history and attractions. They made sure we had a smooth and enjoyable trip, providing insightful information and answering all our questions. I highly recommend Edison Tour for their exceptional service and knowledgeable guides!
- 345terrancec00Thousand islandsAmazing views and a fantastic visit. We had an excellent guide and driver Mr Jacky Chen! Wonderful tea experience.

This was a great tour. Only bummer was bus seating was first come first served. Tour guide was knowledgeable and was clear about expectations and meet up times. Our group got along great, no one wanted to be last onto bus and everyone was polite and friendly. Probably because we’re all English speaking foreign visitors to Taiwan. It’s a LOT of walking, often on uneven surfaces, stairs, and steep slopes. Wear appropriate footwear! Unfortunately Swallow Grotto in Taroko Gorge is under construction so we did alternate site high up in the mountains. You might need travel sickness drugs during the bouncy & swaying bus ride along east coast highway. All hotel are nice, with great breakfast buffets featuring Asian breakfast items plus some western items. Bring cash as you will need it to buy lunch and dinner out of the hotel.

The tour took place from March 27th thru 31st, 2023. They consolidated our tour group at Howard Plaza Hotel of about 40 travelers from Germany, US, Australia, Switzerland, and Israel. We stayed each night at a five star Hotel with great staff. Some of the Hotel per night price for those nights we stayed almost as much as the cost of the couple tour. Too bad the weather was cloudy and rainy on some days but we still made most of it. Most of the bus stop have clean restrooms, restaurants, seven eleven store, Starbuck, and even shower. The bus driver got us back in one piece and the tour guide Michael was knowledgeable. We got back to Howard Plaza Hotel on Friday at close to 5 pm if you need to know to plan a flight that night. It was safe to walk around Taiwan even at late night. It would have been nice to have stayed at the Silk Place Taroko Hotel for another day or two to enjoy the Taroko Gorge sceneries and the wonderful Hotel amenities. One of the traveler thinks he owns the sit on the bus but it is first come first serve, just sit at an open sit, and enjoy the Tour.
Tips:
1. Be sure to bring your umbrella or rain jacket but most Hotels and places has one you can borrow outside the door.
2. Make sure your luggage make it onto the bus as one traveler had his suit case left behind where he did not backup clothes, charger etc. in his bag he was toting with him for several days.
3. If you plan to swim or use the hot spring at the Hotel, bring your own swimming cap as it is require or you can purchase them from the hotel.
4. Download a map of Taiwan before your trip so can navigate around if you do not have a data plan.
5. Purchase international plan from your Carrier is best or you can get sim card in Taiwan for fairly cheap.
6 Even though most Taxi driver has a credit card machine, it could be inoperable, they seem to like cash and the machine takes a while to process if you are in a hurry for your flight.

Trying to plan a trip and visit 10 different sites across Taiwan seems so easy on YOUTUBE! Before you pull your hairs out, just sign up this tour instead. Some of the hotels costs $500 a night alone! However, if you are adventurous enough to plan this trip on your own, get 10 pages of notes ready and start learning Chinese. I read and write Chinese and tried to follow the itinerary listed on the web site do it on my own... I gave up and just sign up the tour instead. There are so much value with these guys and makes no sense do this on your own. Alan was my tour guide, and he planed this tour down to the minutes. He is funny and very caring. We will be back again to Taiwan and use them again. BTW, bring hiking shoes or comfortable running shoes. I will bring trail runner next time... not too heavy but more support when I go off the trails. Hint: first night you will sleep very well...

This tour was so great in many ways. Alan Chou was one of them and made each day on this tour more enjoyable than the last.
He went out of his way every day to make the tour amazing. We had a baggage problem one day and Alan fixed it immediately we didn't even worry.
The hotels, attractions, break-spots were all so enjoyable and varied. The bus was very comfortable and all of the food stops we were shown were amazing. This tour was the highlight of our Taiwan Holiday and haven't stopped recommending it to everyone we can.
The highlight for me was Taroko Gorge and my partner's was Sun Moon Lake.
Thank you Alan!!

I would certainly recommend this trip to those on their first time visiting Taiwan. If you've already travelled around the Republic of China's Taiwan island, I would be inclined to recommend otherwise, however, unless you enjoy a resort-type vacation around the country. I would certainly recommend going on this trip once, and taking note of your favourite spots so you can return with a rental car or something next time. I would say the only downsides of the tour is the limited free time, although perhaps that's just because I tend to prefer unguided touring. However, if guided tours are your thing, you can count on enthusiastic tourguides (Like John Chan!) to take you along to see taiwan's most scenic spots, especially in breathtaking Taroko and along the East Coast. The Taroko Gorge system is always the highlight of any of my visits to Taiwan's national natural scenic spots, and even if with another tour company or none at all, I STRONGLY recommend you all to see its grandeur with your own eyes.

Very good tour around the country. The description on the Edison Travel website is very accurate to what the tour is and where you visit. Communication with the company before the tour was excellent. Ciao was a very good tour guide and clearly cared about customers having a great experience with him during the tour. Taiwan was beautiful and we spent a lot of time on the coast by the ocean. The hotels are the highlight of the tour! They are truly 5 star, one after the other, better than the last. The tour moved at a relaxed pace and would be good for all age levels. For the price, this tour really delivered.

My husband and I went on this tour 7 years ago and really had an amazing time seeing the sights and enjoying the hotels. We decided to go again with our son and my in-laws. The tour was even better than last time! The 5 star hotels were either the same with upgrades or better hotels than last time. We all enjoyed the hot springs, indoor play kids play spaces, kiddie pools (the last hotel even had one pool filled with rubber duckies). The included buffet breakfasts were all amazing. Our tour guide, Alan Chou, was amazing! He was super knowledgeable and friendly. He made amazing food recommendations for lunch and dinner and provided a lot of great information, even showing many pics and videos on the bus in advance of our stops. He was very accommodating to our needs and our son really enjoyed chatting with him. The tour was really well organized and very professionally carried out. Everyone in my party, young and old, really had an amazing time! I am recommending this tour to all my friends and family!!

If you are coming to Taiwan and want to explore this beautiful island in the most efficient, headache-free & fun way, then this tour is for you. I travelled solo and had great time. Our tour guide, Nicholas, was amazing. He spoke excellent English, German & Chinese, since our group was a mixture of families and solo travellers from different countries. He gave us detailed information about the history and background of every site we visited. I especially enjoyed his presentations in the bus so we knew what we were going to visit at any given time. He also always made sure everybody was comfortable and enjoying the trip. Our driver, Eason, was very experienced and I felt very safe in the bus. The Taiwan landscape is breathtaking. Sun Moon Lake, Taroko gorge & Hualien were the highlights of this trip for me. All the hotels were excellent (5*), soaking in those jacuzzi style bathtubs was definitely a plus :) The food was good and Nicholas always gave us alternatives if we did not feel like having dinner at the hotels. Overall it was a great experience and a very professionally-run tour. If I go back to Taiwan I will definitely retake this trip.

The tour was wonderful , the scenery very varied and at the east coast beautiful. We have seen national parks and grand temples all around Taiwan.
Toroko gorge surpassed our expectations.
It is gorgeous. The Sun Moon lake was beautiful to look at from the hotel and the mineral water bath in every room was a pleasure! The five star hotels were excellent and welcomed at the end of each day. We wished we had more light hours at the hotel in Toroko gorge.
Erick, our guide, did his best to make us comfortable . Thank you. We also enjoyed our friendly group from all over the world.

HI, this tour sounds great but is there any opportunity to get some exercise? Are there places appropriate for taking a late afternoon/evening or morning walk? Sitting on a bus all day could be tiring without a chance to get some walking or other exercise in. Any thoughts?

On a contrary, there will be sufficient walking to keep your calories running. I'm not sure about your fitness level but the pace of is just nice for me. Sitting in the bus with a fair bit of walking is well balanced. Be mindful that this 5D4N tour is more like a 'preview' of what to expect to see/do in Taiwan so every place/stop is just a quick glimpse. If you are in Taiwan for the first time, I would recommend this trip. Now that I know what to expect, I will definitely visit Taiwan again on my own without ground tour. Hope this helps.
