- wgossett096400Great tour. Not just the canyonSmall group tour was great. Martin was extremely flexible on the schedule as well as sites to see. Very knowledgeable and personable as well We didn’t rent a camera but Martin was very accommodating regarding taking photos at various spot on the tour. We had another couple who almost canceled but we’re very glad they did the tour. Highly recommended Read more about Half Day Skippers Canyon Photography Adventure - https://www.viator.com/tours/Queenstown/Half-Day-Skippers-Canyon-Photography-Adventure/d407-19849P15?mcid=56757
- Patricia_Woods00Remarkable Imagery - delivering the best in landscape photography toursMartin’s expertise in managing a rainy day photo outing, combining cloud, fog and low light to create moody photo landscapes was the highlight for me. I’m so happy to have a collection of lovely New Zealand landscape as a momento of my holiday.
- Michelle G00Half Day Photography TourI had a great afternoon of photography and sightseeing with Martin. Learned a few things and had some laughs along the way. Would definately recommend this tour if you have a free afternoon in Queenstown.
- simoneO2710JR00See NZ Backcountry, and experience amazing photographic opportunitiesWe booked a photo tour of areas that most people wouldn’t go, to capture unique images. We were highly delighted with not only the tour locations but the personalised and engaging explanations of the flora, fauna, local stories and histories en route. Martin, our driver and guide; was excellent tutoring, driving and advising on images. We went off-road into stunning high country which offered excellent picture opportunities, can’t wait to process. Summer was brilliant, would love to return in winter! Highly recommended and would love to repeat with Martin again if back in New Zealand.
- JoJarmanning00Amazing afternoon of photographyWhat a wonderful experience! We spent the afternoon traveling to photography locations only a local would know, and got dozens of fantastic pictures that you won't see in the guidebooks or typical tourist spots. Martin was a fantastic teacher and guide, providing great photography tips and historic insight to the locations we visited. It was a wonderful trip and I came away with a month's worth of wonderful images I couldn't have gotten anywhere else. If you love landscape photography you owe it to yourself to book this adventure.
- LisaMD7300Wonderful day out photographing terrific sceneryI recently enjoyed a fantastic day long photography tour with Martin. We explored the Queenstown environs, taking amazing photos of the incredible scenery. Martin will customise his tours according to your wishes. In my case, we went up into the snow line, photographing craggy rocks against a vivid white background topped with a bluebird sky. We also searched out reflections of snow capped mountains, waterfalls, vistas from the roads up to the nearby ski fields and along the hair raising drive into Skippers Canyon. Martin taught me how to use my camera more effectively and gave me useful tips on composition. He’s very kind and personable and I enjoyed his company on our 10 hour outing. Highly recommended.
- Kris C00Great Day!Thanks Martin for a great day of photography not only were the areas and subjects majestic but to learn to utilise my camera has given me more incentive to follow my passion further than aim & shoot. Would definitely recommend remarkable imagery and will look forward to returning for another lesson sometime in the future.
- jen44300A fantastic tour!We had a brilliant time on our Remarkable Imagery tour! My partner Ian is a beginner at photography and it was so wonderful to have Martin's guidance. We feel blessed to have shared in Martin's rich knowledge of the local area and loved our trip down Skipper's Canyon! We managed to capture some breathtaking images that we will cherish forever. Thank you so much Martin for such a memorable tour. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to capture the stunning scenery that Queenstown has to offer.
- Andyb150500FantasticMartin is a master of his craft. Took time to watch us and make suggestions, but not intrusive in any way. Had a great time ... one could even say "Remarkable" 👍
- Michael P00A great way to spend the dayMy wife and I were interested in seeing some of the more out of the way places around Queenstown and learning how to take better pictures and we were not disappointed! Martin took the time to show us how to use the more advanced settings on our DSLR in order to take better pictures in difficult light conditions (high contrast light Nd shadow). He also went over some basics of composition, which we were able to put in to practice taking shots of the beautiful scenery in the mountains around Queenstown. The roads Martin took us down are not accessible in a rental car, but worth travelling down. All of the places we visited were beautiful, and Martin was friendly, happy, and helpful the entire day. If you want to learn more about photography in a scenic outdoor environment this is the trip for you!
- Helow W00Awesome Photography Tour!Really had a great day taking pictures of the beautiful places Martin brought me to. He gave great tips on the composition and settings to achieve the best shots. Truly a remarkable experience!
- travelsince201400Must do in Queenstown!I arrived in Queenstown in the morning, and did not want to waste half a day so I booked the half day tour. Turned out to be a great decision! Martin is a phenomenal photographer, and knew the area really well. Learned some cool photography pointers as well! We went to Skippers Canyon which is just an amazing place to see and take photos. The only thing I didn't like about my tour was it was too short!!! If I end up coming back to Queenstown, I will definitely book a full day tour and see the other spots.
- salty w00Great days with the Remarkable Martin!I just had two wonderful days one to one with Martin around Queenstown. We went to so many places and took some wonderful shots. Skipper's pass was particularly memorable - so many other fabulous spots including Nevis valley and the Kingstown Ski Club with all the old Fords that just happened to be picnicking there with their passengers! Such a wonderful time - Martin is a great font of knowledge and an excellent driver. His knowledge of photography is tremendous and good for all levels of experience. He is a brilliant conversationalist and listener! Thankyou Martin for making a wonderful holiday experience.
- fourbeesplus300Great valueThis is not an inexpensive trip but well worth the price. Martin will take up to 4 guests to photograph the local gems and give you tips to take better photos. We learned and experienced a lot even though it was a rainy day. Martin took us back to Skippers village which was a gold mining town in the 1870’s. The road back there is considered to be one of the top 10 most dangerous roads in the world! He handles it expertly and confidently. I would never attempt this road myself but he knows how to handle it. The Shotover River runs thru the mountains and is very photogenic. We even enjoyed taking photos of the beautiful rocks along the riverbank. He offers a snack. We enjoyed hot tea and cookies which he called biscuits. We were allowed as much time as we wished in our many photo stops and appreciated the time he gave us!
- Tom B00Great photo tour of Queenstown, NZ.Martin taught me about some of the finer points of photography while showing me out-of-the-way places that were amazingly photogenic. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic....a perfect guide around the beauty of Queenstown. Highly Recommended!

My experience with Martin was a complete success. His knowledge of the area and low key teaching style gave me lots of opportunities to try things and then he made suggestions that made each shot better. I came away with a better "eye" and additional skills I will use everytime I think about capturing a scene. I highly recommend this tour.

Thanks so much for your comments. Shooting landscapes can be a fun creative challenge, especially in our mountainous region. It was great seeing you taking up the challenge and trying out new ways of looking.

I would consider myself amatuer landscape/outdoor photographer. My hope in with booking with Martin was two-fold. First to be taken to places with beautiful views and second to learn from a pro. Both my hopes were met to more than my satisfaction. I spent two full days with Martin. One day around Wanaka and One day around Queenstown. I have good equipment and a good eye for what looks good but Martin helped me with various aspects of getting a "shot". He helped me most with composition I think. He was quite familiar with the area and we drove around to various spots where we would then both take photos side by side. I would show him my pic and he would make suggestions and show how he was composing etc.
Well worth my time and money. I have lots of great photos from my New Zealand trip. I think they were helped by my experience with Martin.

This is a great option for someone looking to get a "local's perspective" of Queenstown and take a trip to lesser-known spots.
I was (am) new to photography (I bought my first camera specifically for this trip) and Martin was a patient teacher. He was great at adapting his approach to my level of skill. During the day, not only did I learn and practice different techniques to compose photographs and learn some of the features of my camera, but I got to visit many "off the beaten path" spots to photograph!
This trip left me feeling like I had really gotten to know Queenstown and the surrounding areas. Martin was very flexible, friendly and helpful. I couldn't recommend this trip more to someone looking to get to know Queenstown and capture some great pictures!

Had a great day with Martin taking photographs around Queenstown. We were able to visit many places ordinary tour group, or self-tour won't able to find and get to. Martin is great teacher, helped me in composition, using of light even operating my own camera. Specially enjoyed the "local" touch at the lunch spot and visiting around Kingstown.

I booked this photography tour to get the best of the area. I had no expectations; I was picked up at 8am and came back around 6pm; that being said, time flew by ! Martin was fantastic at bringing me to unique areas, showing me how to use my camera to capture the best picture and overall, making me feel very comfortable to ask any questions I may have had. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone that wants to see the unique landscape of New Zealand and take some pictures and or wants to learn a little more about photography. Martin is so easy going and genuinely enjoys sharing his passion with others.
I had a great day and if I am so lucky to return to New Zealand would book a second tour to further my photography knowledge and visit new parts of the area !
Thank you so much for the wonderful day !

Our full-day private tour with Martin was all we had hoped. The most spectacular scenery, no crowds, no rush, a knowledgable and enthusiastic guide sharing his passion for landscapes and natural beauty, AND he has lots of ideas on how to capture this world with a camera. Beautiful memories are guaranteed. He's an inspired photographer and a gentle teacher and I now find myself thinking about every photo and how I can make it better. A wonderful day that went too fast. Highly recommended. Thanks, Martin.

My wife and I spent a full day with Martin and had a thoroughly enjoyable and informative time. Martin took us to locations we would not have easily found on our own. They were excellent locations for images. We toured the wine region, got to see a restored Chinese gold miners camp, and the original Bungee jump bridge (still in operation). In addition we enjoyed lunch in a quaint local cafe ( with very good food) and took a ride to the highest point on a public road in the region. Along the way we saw remarkable rock formations and expansive views of valleys and rivers. All in all it was an excellent tour and I would highly recommend it.
