Our first time to Sao Miguel and this adventure took us to all the highlights on both sides of the island. Our guide Rafael, born and raised in Sao Miguel, was wonderful. The two lunches were local cuisine with wine, coffee and dessert. Excellent. Great experience.

If misty which it seems to always be, you will see nothing but a foggy lake . Our driver Gonzalez was not enthusiastic but just ticked off the places he’d been told to visit. We didn’t go to the ceramics place, the visit to the liquor place didn’t happen, he gave us a cup of liqueur in a windy car park. Hot springs full as it was Saturday- you can’t guarantee entry so ended up in tiny grey pool for 25 minutes. Take a taxi instead. Whole island is hard work, weather very variable hour by hour and no where let’s you book ahead so you just have to hope there will be space. San Miguel is not worth seeing.

We got to see a hole lot of the island during only one day. Our guide Vera shared the stories , myhts and facts about the island in a very funny and informative way, - that I will use in my articles on my travel blog. Btw, one thing; the program says that we can bring the bathing suit and have a bath in the springs, but there was no time for this. We visited many different places I wanted to see all in one day. The tour guide Vera was AMAZING and so was our driver Pedro!

Our guide was great and we made good memories. The island is beautiful and hearing the perspective of a local was enjoyable

I took this tour with 5 friends in a large jeep and our guide Eduardo. This is not for the faint of heart in that we took back roads with gullies caused by recent rains. But it was worth every bump from the road and occasional rain. The scenery from the top was beautiful both looking down the slopes to the ocean and down into the crater with 6 craters within. This is the only volcano crater that can be driven completely around the top. The visit to the village beside the water within the crater was delightful in its beauty and peacefulness. Eduardo was so passionate about the island, his people and the nature. He could answer all of our questions and showed us plants, flowers and geologic features. He went out of his way to find us a good restaurant on our return to the city. And most of all he was friendly and sincere. He was genuine.

I had a fantastic tour with Vera on 26/09/22. I told her I wanted to see Cete Cidades and I would leave the rest up to her. She took me all over the island. The names of the places she took me are escaping me, but the the 9 hrs flew by. I felt comfortable with her and we chatted the entire day and there was no awkward silence. She is a great person and a very knowledgeable guide. I give the entire day 10/10

My husband and I commenced our private tour with a punctual pickup right in front of our hotel. We had already seen a decent amount on São Miguel island, so we provided our guide with limited instructions as to what we’d like to see that day (“waterfalls, that tea plantation maybe?”) I’m happy to say he knocked it out of the park. We saw not only waterfalls and the Gorreana tea plantation but also countless stunning vistas, Lagoa do Fogo, the pineapple plantation, beaches, and more. Our guide was friendly, fun and informative. He took us to a good lunch spot by the water and even drove us back to Sete Cidades because the weather had been so-so the first time we went. All in all an enjoyable, relaxing day—I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the best of São Miguel island in comfort (and with an expert local guide).

We booked this excursion for my 80 year old mother, she had a wonderful time! She said that the guide was very knowledgeable and efficient. My mom really enjoyed the hot springs and the pineapple exhibit. She says that this was an excellent tour and that the the guide did an excellent job!

Vera was simply amazing - so knowledgable about Saõ Miguel, funny and personable. We visited several places along the tour that were just incredible. The tea plantation, Furnas, Terra Nostra, waterfalls and more. Highly recommended!

Vera was the best guide with so much knowledge of the island. This is a must-do for any newbie wanting to hit all the bucket list spots on the island. Vera made sure her guest were comfortable, not rushed and fed lots of yummy traditional azorean treats!

A wonderful way to explore the island. We booked a day ahead and were picked up in the morning by Vera, who asked us what we wanted to do and gave her own suggestions. Ended up getting a second day tour also on the other side of the island. :)
