- X1921EGabigaild0 contributionsAn amazing elephant experienceWe had the most wonderful time on the Elephant safari. Lakpura Leisure went above and beyond to help us celebrate our anniversary. Our guide Asela was very knowledgable and ensured that we had the best experience seeing the elephants. We couldn’t have asked for better, thank you :)Written December 10, 2024
- Q6741PLmichaels0 contributionsStunning train rideChunugu from Mahawala tours got me on the right train/seat for a brilliant train ride with stunning scenery. Great trip. He collected me at Nanu Oya for the rest of the drive, no problems. Would have liked to have spent more time in Nuwara Eliya & if I had of done a little more research & asked I'm sure I could have, so no fault of Chunuga. Nice tea factory on the way back. Good use of limited time for a trip into the hills.Written December 9, 2024
- rosieserge0 contributionsElephants galore! What a fantastic place to visit. We saw so many elephants, at least 40 and all were close enough that if you only have your phone for photos then it would be enough to get great shots. Whilst the elephants were the highlight we also saw buffaloes, jackal, mongoose, monitor lizards, black necked hare, kingfishers, bee eaters, peacocks (which are everywhere), spotted deer, crocodile, fruit bat, parakeets, minor birds, frogs, jungle fowl (the national bird), painted storks, pond herons and numerous other birds. We were picked up and dropped off at our accommodation and the safari jeep was ideal for a great view of the wildlife.Written December 8, 2024

- Q6741PLmichaels0 contributionsGreat tourThis was a great little tour. Shirat gave me a little history lesson along with answering all my questions about Unesco & how restorations were happening. He took me to places I might not have found on my own & he runs a pleasant liitle tea shop too. A true local.Written November 30, 2024
- laddie1350 contributionsAmazing viewsSlow train ride through beautiful countryside. Views amazing. Train was quite empty when I travelled maybe lucky. I was in 3rd class. Maybe go in second class for a more comfortable seat.Written November 30, 2024
- worldwanderer3330 contributionsA very enjoyable train ride.My husband and I had a lovely trip on the Amtrak train Blue Water from Flint, Michigan to Milwaukee - via Chicago. The ride was great, and smooth - we had Red Coat assistance in Chicago, helping my 80 year-old husband. The trains were very clean, modern, comfortable. The Chicago to Milwaukee is a commuter train, also very comfortable, clean, with professional staff assisting. And they were on time! there was assistance at the doors to the trains for those who needed it. My husband says that the best part of our trip to Michigan and Wisconsin was the train ride.Written November 14, 2024
