About the operator

- 124melb0 contributionsTerry Pitt - Tobago LegendI have just returned from a great few days in Tobago. I have visited before but wanted to see the best bits of the whole island so booked a full day tour with Terry Pitt. I highly recommend you do the same, this guy knows the history of the island, he knows about the wildlife and so much more. There was just me and one other person on this tour which made it feel even more special. He picked me up from my hotel in Crown Point and we went all the way up the Atlantic side, through the rainforest then back down the Caribbean coast. We stopped off at various points along the way, had a snorkeling stop and lunch on the beach. Highlights for me on this one we're he rainforest, Speyside and a stop at Parlatuvier to feed the stingrays! If you book this tour and there's something particular you want to see then you can ask him and if he can do it he will. This trip was great value for money, I left the hotel at 9am and got back just after 6pm. Terry is a really lovely guy who wants people to have the best experience possible. What a legend!Written March 16, 2024
- pascalbE2055LC0 contributionsGetting to know tobago - where the locals goTerry is a reliable and trustworthy tour guide. He knows the secret spots that the locals also go to. not overrun with tourists. He responds to individual wishes. Absolute recommendation to get to know the island and have all your questions answered. We had a great day with TerryWritten March 2, 2024
- sonyamcdonald0 contributionsGreat day on a secluded beachWhat a wonderful, relaxing treasure we found with this excursion. Our driver, Terry, was very attentive and makes the best rum punch we’ve ever had. Food was amazing. But the beach was so beautiful and secluded - felt like it was our own private beach. We’re planning our trip back!Written January 3, 2024
- lauragR2086YA0 contributionsWonderful Place and expieranceAmazing little “jungle” had great time there. Waterfalls were amazing. Little fish bitten my legs and foot. Some local guys sale hand made local crafts they make by themselves.Written October 28, 2023
- Rhossiligg0 contributionsVery disappointing and poor value for moneyI found the glass bottom boat tour to Buccoo Reef and Nylon pool really disappointing. I’d read reviews elsewhere before going and I have to agree with the negative comments made. The trip to the reef was very brief, we weren’t offered snorkelling - either equipment or time (I get that with Covid we couldn’t share mouthpieces).. We saw quite a few fish through the murky glass screen but we were there for max 10 minutes. From here we went to nylon pool which was very interesting. Once there the music started (loud) and there were several jet skis offering rides. We stayed at the pool for 20 minutes then onto No-man’s land where there were BBQ stalls selling a range of cooked food. We were here for about 20-30 minutes then it was back to Pigeon Point. Definitely not good value for money and didn’t really satisfy either the partygoers or the nature watchers/snorkelers. If you want to explore the reef, I’d check out dive operators who might be able to offer something more professional.Written February 9, 2023

- 697matildab0 contributionsMindblowing tours with TerryTerry is a wonderful, inspiring and generous person I was lucky to meet during my 4-day-trip to Tobago. He treats his guests like family! Terry has a huge knowledge about the Tobagonian history, culture, the plants and animals you get to see during his tours. I can highly recommend him also for single women traveling around the island, as he is a very reliable, trustful person I always felt safe with. Thank you Terry (also for the coconut water, the ice cream and the chocolate you shared with me), I can't wait to see you on my next trip to Tobago!Written March 24, 2022

Terry is knowledgeable, fun and took good care of us, especially of my daughter who kept asking questions about the country, nature and culture. Call him if you wish to visit Tobago! We shall certainly do when we come back. Merci monsieur Terry!Written February 28, 2020

- Denise O0 contributionsFun tour of the islandTobago is a beautiful island and Terry was very knowledgable about the history, the plants and wildlife on the island , which he clearly loves. We had a fun day out snorkelling, boat rides, visiting beautiful beaches and plantations. Provided lunch and took us to a local bar. He is a kind, generous and friendly, would highly recommend- wished we had found him earlier would have done other trips with him.Written January 24, 2020

- Kola7170 contributionsBest Tour Guide on the IslandTerry is the most trustworthy and friendliness tour guide on the island. He not only helped us plan our tours, he went above and beyond to support us with an unfortunate circumstance we experienced with another operator. Highly recommend using his services. And he even helps if it means to refer you elsewhere. He’s genuinely concerned about your safety, well-being, and making sure you enjoy your time in Tobago.Written January 6, 2020
- R8580WXjuliad0 contributionsBest Tour PeriodFrom the pick up to the drop off everything about this tour was excellent. I corresponded with my tour guide Terry, the knowledgable historian and host, through WhatsApp. This made meeting my driver at the airport a breeze. Snacks and drinks were provided and clean showers were available. Pack light and have your bathing suits ready and waterproof camera ready. I recommend sturdy waterproof shoes to transition from snorkeling to tubing to light walks on the trails. I'm a bit of a foodie and the lunch was spot on. A private table set directly on the beach was also a nice touch. The kingfish lunch was wonderful. My children and I licked our plates clean. I was surprised that while the meal was well seasoned everything tasted fresh and nothing was lost or overpowered. I appreciated the variety of options that were available besides the kingfish. We were taken by boat to a secluded pink sand beach to snorkel. We then travel to another beach whose waters were so calm and sand so soft that the name Pirates Cove seemed a misnomer. I could go on and on and on but this is differently an experience to partake in Tobago and well whether the money. Terry's knowledge and love of his island are unparalleled. I will definitely go back.Written November 29, 2019
- Cockneee0 contributionsTerrys Tobago Fun Island ToursGreat way to get to know the island and its traditions. Terry provided an informative and interesting guide with a personal touch. Reasonably priced too which was also appreciated. Considering we only had the day quite a lot of the island was covered and we had ample enough time to take photos and bask at each point. Didn't feel like we were being rushed and historical narration provided throughout. Would recommend to anyone.Written November 15, 2019

The bird sanctuary, particularly the hummingbirds is well worth a visit. There is a TT$120 (GBP13.50) admission fee (that covered all in our group) payable at the site upon entry. The birds are fed every 15 minutes and were visible the whole time we were present. The birds are flying free right in front of ones eyes and within touching distance, although they are so quick you'll never touch one. The variety of hummingbirds alone is amazing. Not sure you need a half day Island tour, better off getting a local taxi to take you directly there. Moving down to the fish pond is a bit fraught if the mango trees have shed their fruit on the ground, gets very messy.....but you get to feed the fish.

We were picked up at out appartment early in the morning (recommended) and saw at least 3 to 4 dozen hummingbirds + others flying around and feeding (less on show if you arrive later), and also had a guided tour around garden, where various trees and plants, etc. were pointed out and discussed. I thought it was, though, rather expensive for what we saw, although this is probably the only way to see them really close up (you can get within 6 inches of them and feel the draft from their movement.)

Terry was a great guide - very friendly and knowledgeable. We went to the Adventure Farm and Nature Reserve, the Tobago Forest Reserve didn’t seem to happen. The hummingbirds at the nature reserve were astonishing, colourful and so many to see! It was a shame that the owners didn’t really get involved with an explanation of what we were looking at, humming bird facts, nesting, chicks etc. The owner topped up the feeders but didn’t say much. There were a few dusty laminated sheets with some explanations on hummingbirds but that was it.

Hello Matthew, So glad you enjoyed your tour with Terry and appreciate your feedback regarding the nature reserve owners. We have little control over the owners, obviously, but will most certainly keep this in mind as Terry wants you to learn everything you can during his tours. Thanks again. Hope to see you back!

My sister and I (not teens but no appropriate choice in drop down menu) went on this tour. A wonderful experience watching beautiful Hummingbirds amongst their natural habitat. A family run business that is run to support the environment and creatures within it. Fantastic delicious home made mango ice cream made the experience even more special. The warm welcome from the owners and their lovely spaniel was lovely. We were able to walk in the grounds (that part may be a challenge if mobility is compromised). Terry our driver explained about the different flowers, trees and fruit and added to the overall experience with his knowledge. Make sure you use plenty of insect repellant as in this natural environment the mosquitoes are many. We bought home made orange marmalade, mango chutney and mango jam with cinnamon all for 30TT each. pepper sauce was also available. All natural ingredients. Highly recommended.
