About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- sandralN9986OD0 contributionsQuads ready for scrap heapThe tour started half an hour late and the quads are ready for the scrap heap. Brakes not working, most shredded to bits from past crashes, wheels loose and wobbling, can’t accelerate due to no power/backfiring, spark plugs being replaced when unable to start, two broke during the drive. I feel a bit bad for writing a bad review, as the guides are lovely and the scenery stunning, BUT the quads seriously need replacing and are not safe. If you have half decent quads, the experience would be amazing.Written December 8, 2023
- Martin a0 contributionsDavid & Valerie Lane Trail was an awesome experienceDavid & Valerie Lane Trail was a fantastic experience. It brings you down a lovely forest path until you reach the ocean. The viewpoints are spectacular. My guide Freddie was amazing and very knowledgeable about plant, wildlife and the park. It was an absolute pleasure hiking with him. We even got to see four whales jumping and playing in the water right from the trail. The trail itself is rather short and aside of a little uphill on the way back no challenge to complete. 10/10 totally recommend it.Written November 26, 2023
- A2505AAthomasm0 contributionsAvoid with big groups, don’t waste time and money! We were a group of 24 people. The quads are quite worn out, from the first group of 12 drivers only 11 could start, 9 came back because the bikes broke on the way. I don’t know about the second group, how many of the 9 who started came back by themselves. Maybe it’s ok for small groups up to 6-8 people, but they can’t handle bigger. So avoid going there with big groups! The tour itself is also not really something for your live bucket list. Better enjoy a sunbath and Lion Lager instead in the lodge, which is really a nice on. Sorry, it’s wasting time and money.Written October 22, 2023

- Soniad700 contributionsExciting quad bike adventureMy dad and I came for an adventure weekend, and the quad bikes fit the bill. The guide gave us a fantastic ride. The bike was easy to ride and extremely fun. We went through a lot of puddles through the forest towards a beautiful lookout point.Written December 15, 2019

The guides Patrick and Duncan are super nice guys, gave great instructions and were also very knowledgeable around the plants and animals in the area. We had great weather so the ride was real fun and the final viewpoint was great too!Written September 3, 2019

Quad biking isn’t really for me but I still had a blast!!! So whenever in the area and you feel like your heart needs a little dose of adrenaline then be sure to drop by and take a quick drive to great views! - 460capet0 contributionsQuad bike adventure tourWe went out for the 2 hour Segway tour which took us through the town and into the pine forest. It was quite somwthing to see the destruction caused by the recent fires, eerily beautiful. We then went on to see the Big tree and learnt a bit about some of the trees in the forest. The guide Madom was very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this as a chilled way to see a bit of storms river and have some fun on the Segway.Written November 15, 2018
- Tapiwa0 contributionsQuad BikingThe best quad biking expirience ever. I loved it. Fred is a great host and made sure that we where well informed prior to riding. I would recommend this place for quad biking in the forest. Loved itWritten July 29, 2018
- Defcon1230 contributionsA great time in the forestI had a terrific 90 minutes yesterday with JJ as my guide. With only the two of us it was perfect as we drove the trails through native forest and pine tree plantation. I’ve not driven a quad bike before however one minute of instruction from JJ (Jovandre) was all l needed as they are easy with accelerator on the right handlebar and the break on the left. They are automatic so no gear change needed, as l said it’s very easy. We stopped several times for photos and water with JJ giving great information on the area and at the end of our tour he played guitar and sang a terrific song ending a wonderful experience for me. A strong recommendation especially now in May when there are few other tourists as with only JJ and me there was no waiting for slower riders...do it!Written May 9, 2018
- Constanze H0 contributionsQuad tourWe did the quad tour with jj. Cool guide, we had a blast. It's a nice activity with some action even if you are not super fit. Will definitely come back :)Written May 7, 2018
- Zandri G0 contributionsBest tour yet!So...hubby turned 30 and instead of a party we had an Easter weekend away. He’s always wanted to do a quad tour and we tried Adventure land...wow!!! What a tour!!! The guide Fabian was amazing with stunning scenery. A must in this area!!!Written April 1, 2018
- IngeTriegaardt0 contributionsTime of your lifeA great place to spend some time. From your arrival to your departure you feel welcomed. The service in the office was efficient and you did not feel pushed for time. The atmosphere was relaxed and the briefing before you go off on your ride was thorough. Our guide, JJ (Jovandre) was amazing! He was so easy going, yet extremely professional. The trip was not rushed and we managed to take in all the beautiful scenery along the way. We stopped often for picture opportunities and JJ even took out his guitar and serenaded us in the bush on one of our stops! This place is amazing. Really worth the while and it is easily accessible as it is on the N2. The ride takes you through the plantations and some indigenous forests. We did not want to leave and will definitely be back here. It is highly recommended!Written November 19, 2017

It is not well signposted and is difficult to find. When we eventually found it, we were told the signs have been taken down for work to be done to them? That was the least of our problems. The bikes are very old and falling apart. My bike broke down ( chain kept coming off ) after 1 km and from there on every 500 m's until the guide took it. This meant that another person in our group had to go in the guides buggy and didn't even get to do the activity properly. We were not offered any refund. The tour was boring as the guide had to go extremely slowly on the struggling bike he took off me. For the main part of the trip, we were on a public /farm road that also has cars on, for at least 4/5 kms. We spent a short time in the forest- perhaps about 2 km.
There was no safety briefing given. The fact that you have to be 16 to ride your own quad was not shared with us when we booked and so the 2 boys in our group had to share bikes with parents. They still tried to get us to pay full price for the 2 boys but eventually, after arguing, gave a discount. The trip is very expensive for what it is. It is definitely not worth doing. The only good things were the guide who was pleasant and the short walk to a lookout point over the dolphin trail area was spectacularly beautiful- filled with proteas.

We are the Baileys from Port Elizabeth. We went out quad biking and our trip advisor Evans was awesome. So knowledgeable, the friendliest guy we met and so patient with my daughter who took about 5 to 10 minutes to get the hang of the bike. This was our very first time and the route was indescribable. Such beauty in nature, coming in colours of brown green blue . And the very best of those colours only nature can produce. Thank you Evans for helping is with photos and taking us on the best first experience of quad bikes ever. We want to come back for sure.

Unfortunately our experience was not good. Upon arriving our friendly guide welcomed us. I immediately noticed the bad state of the quad, one front and one back tyre was so run through it almost had no thread left. I requested for a different quad which made us wait for 40 minutes.
40 minutes later we were on or way.
This was by no means a guided tour as we just drove behind the guide,no stopping no looking at scenery nothing.
We eventually ended at the look out spot looking down to the park.
The deck was also not safe, the barrier at the top was loose and some planks were also loose.
After spending roughly 10 minutes there we got back on the quads straight back to the lodge.
You should think for R1400 we would atleast get a drink and something like a sandwich.
The scenery was basically a dirt road between trees, nothing exciting.
Not sure if the overseas travelers are not use to trees and dust, and therefore they can be ripped off.
Due to our quad tour being delayed, our next adventure was cancelled and we lost our money. We also lost oor booking in Knysna for my birthday dinner.
The worst 40th birthday gift to myself ever.
I by no means are saying our guide was at fault, she does not own the tours nor the bad quads.

Hi There,
Thank you for taking the time to review our activity.
We are so sorry that you did not enjoy your time spent with us. I have spoken to our team and they assured me that the wait for the new bike was only a few minutes as the bikes are all kept in the same area, we pride ourselves on ensuring the safety of all of our guests while they are on the tour with us.
I apologize that the guide did not give you an informative tour as the usual format of the tour is that the guide will explain about the area and also fun facts about the flora and fauna.
We do supply water on the tour and if guests would like they can add on a picnic basket for an additional charge that they can enjoy on the lawn with the ocean view at the main lodge at Misty Mountain Reserve.
Thank you for your comments regarding the look out point , I will pass this onto the team at National Parks as they are in charge of the look out deck.
Thank you once again for your comments, we really don't want our guests to leave unhappy or to feel that their expectations have not been met or exceeded.
Thank you once again
Regards

We had booked the quad tour and our guide Rowaan welcomed us very warmly already at the parking.
Rowaan told us all the important info about quad biking and then the tour started.
Rowaan was a super guide, entertainer and photographer, we had a lot of fun with him. The tour was mega, through the Waöd on gravel roads.
Thanks again Rowaan!

I think our guide was Fabian, he was excellent. The views were fantastic, we stopped at the cliff top to walk a short way. It was well paced and great fun, we had the added bonus of having just the two of us so it felt like a private tour.
We found misty mountain quite hard to find, would be helpful to have a map or directions on the flyer

This was a really nice adventure that I would recommend. Rowaan and Alysia where really really good tour guides with us. We were a group of only 4 and these two made the trip such a memorable one! Rowaan took really good care of us and Alysia was amazing with videoing and photographing parts of the experience.
Only issue we had was the quads. They need maintenance & the owner ought to make sure they are safe! My quad's wheel fell apart, while another quad's chain got disconnected.
Otherwise awesome experience.

This was an amazing experience for our family from Austin Texas and we are so happy we did this. The quads were very nice, the scenery spectacular but the icing on the cake was our host Alicia. She was such a pleasure to spend time with. A lovely person, with a zest for life, plenty of patience and brimming with knowledge about the area.

Is it rough terrain which needs lots of (arm) muscle work or more smooth terrain and easy riding?
