Lovely day out, the experience was made by Charles the second. You need to give that man a pay rise!

Good visit with lots of exploring to be had, access via a causeway at low tide, but we caught the amphibious buggy.

Great value to see the main attractions on the island. Buying these individually will cost a lot more. Recommend both castles and the Jersey museum. The maritime museum is a bit underwhelming and looks like it hasn't been updated recently.

A great experience exploring Elizabeth Castle brought to life by the supremely arrogant and pompous, yet charming, Charles II. If you don't mind being called an idiot from time to time he was brilliant. Very informative in an entertaining way.

The fun starts before you get to the castle. Take the ‘ferry’, the ride out to the castle an experience in itself. We joined the guided tour of the castle which was hugely interesting and added much to the enjoyment of our time there. An excellent cafe & loos make for a good comfort stop too.

I went with my sister on a nostalgic revisit of jersey

The heritage pass is an excellent way to access the jersey heritage sites

We particularly enjoyed meeting King Charles II at Elizabeth castle. If he is visiting when you are, his tour of the upper castle is something you shouldn’t miss. Hilarious and informative.

I believe the master of arms is also very good but unfortunately we had the understudy who was lovely but didn’t quite go off with the bang we were expecting!!

We walked to and from the castle across the sand and on the concrete causeway. The castle was an interesting experience. At 10:45 am we joined a free guided tour with Juliette who was witty, entertaining and knowledgeable. We were a large group but it was not an issue. It gave us a good overview and then we were able to look inside places, such as the German bunkers, at our leisure. We had lunch outside in the ‘secret garden’ (upstairs). The coffee was good but the food was awful (especially the veggie ‘slice’).

You have to time your visit to suit the tides if you want to walk across so we took the amphibious vehicle - Betty - across (Nancy was suffering electrical problems so not running). The site is well worth visiting and we saw the flintlock demonstration and the cannons being fired. Both much louder than expected! The "soldier" giving the talks did talk for longer than the audience had patience for especially children, The cafe was short staffed as is everywhere on jersey at the moment but nice - i expect it would struggle to keep up with demand in the height of the season.
We took advantage of the heritage pass as it not only gives 3 for the price of 4 entry to the 4 places you select from the choice but free access to the sites you choose for the week.

Nice to walk on the causeway but travel back by the boat/van. Very friendly staff. Nice talk and exhibition of a flintlock. Not as well exhibited as mont orguell but very worth a visit.

There is a lovely cafe with a hidden garden terrace with lovely views across the island and bay. It is planted up with some interesting plants and herbs. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed a tasty feta and onion pasty heated up, with some sandwiches. We stopped off on the way back to the ferry and had an ice cream.

The amphibious craft that takes you to and from the island is an interesting experience, sometimes driving and sometimes floating en route, and was rather fun.

The staff were really helpful and there were some excellent exhibitions in a number of the buildings. Some more work will be undertaken to further develop the site for visitors, so the experience could only get better!

The walk to the hermit chapel gave some great views back to the island. The buildings were fascinating and dated from a number of historic times, including WWII. Guides dressed in historic gear took some visitors on tours, though we went on our own around the castle ramparts and rooms, really enjoying the quirky exhibitions. Lots for families to do.

Take the first ferry of the day (10ish) and spend the morning there. Quite pricey if you haven’t taken advantage of the heritage pass 4 for 3 offer. Fabulous views and friendly staff. Don’t miss Hermitage Rock at the end of the breakwater!
