About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Happiness450513715540 contributionsThe best tour service in Santa Marta regionAmazing service and unforgettable experiences! I loved the service before we even decided to go, all information we needed and a lot of patience. My group had senior members and children as well and all were taken care of. I totally recommend Ruta Tayrona for all your needs in Santa Marta and surroundings (from the airport transfers to all tours ).Written June 23, 2024
- 872philipj0 contributionsGreat fun. Hot baths and mudded ourselvesWe loved it. Hard to find, but worth persevering with. If driving from Santa Marta it’s 4km before Cienaga and is a small turn off the made road. Follow over railway line and it’s on your left.Written October 6, 2023
- Nomad105970098410 contributionsAn amazing experience in an amazing place !I did the Tayrona Tour with my parents and it was an amazing experience. We did the Tour in French with Carlos, he was a wonderful guide with a lot of knowledge and many things to teach us about the region and the history of Colombia. The tour was awesome, Carlos is caring and gives us a lot of time for us (to swim or just to take a rest if needed). We were able to see differents animals such as howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, cotton-top tamarin and we also had the chance to see a northern screamer bird!). I recommend it to you!!Written August 30, 2023

He was super informative and friendly. Nos encanto nuestro viaje con Carlos. Lo hicimos todo y más, ya que podíamos personalizar el tour como deseábamos. Súper informativo y agradable.Written April 8, 2022
- carolinevU4017AR0 contributionsA great experienceMeeting the Kogi tribe with our guide Carlos was quite an experience. We got to see how they live, exchange with them and learn a lot about their way of life. Our guide Carlos was perfect, he answered all our questions about the tribe, life in Columbia and much more. 100% would do it again !Written April 8, 2022
- V2313OUfrankm0 contributionsIndigenous village tourThe guides and village were excellent! We had so much fun on the journey, went tubing on a clean pristine river and horseback riding too. Breakfast and lunch were provided at home stays. The village was incredible to see and learn. Highlight of our trip thus far!Written February 6, 2020
- helenproosa0 contributionsVery nice day tourMe and my family really enjoyed the tour. Our guide Carlos was very nice and considerate of our needs. He took us to really nice places which we didn’t even expect. I would do it again any time. Thanks 🙏Written February 1, 2020
- Rey R0 contributionsGood trip.It was actually a good trip. You end up knowing very nice places. The people who served you is very organized and you wouldn’t have any trouble like in other places because they sell you all the beverages upfront and be aware of the lunch because is not that big and a bit expensive. You can bring some snacks and the snorkel experience is pretty good. Better if you bring a Gopro or action cam because it’s a nice view down there in the reef.Written January 26, 2020
- leahmV3337XP0 contributionsMajor lack of communicationWe booked this tour the night before and if you read the description you are eto be picked up in an airconsitioned unti , transported to the Tayrona Park. Then you are to walk all 4 beaches and end up at the end where you check in and they take you back by boat to Taganga and then your hotel. This did not happen. We were picked up at 820 by a small van with no ac and a broken window. Jammed in to park entrance where the driver helped us with the insurance needed and sent us to a line up to pay..Very slow..took us until around 1100 to get all people through and for him to take us the additional 5km? To the parking lot where we started walk. At this point I asked driver about boat..he said no boat. Meet me back here at 5 o clock..We were very confused. So we walked the 2 hours in to 1st beach area and another 35min to 2nd which was first swimmable beach. By the time we were there we had only 1.5 hrs if we were to go back to parking lot as instructed or take chance and continue on ignoring drivers instructions. We chose to go with what he told us. Got back to parking lot and he found us and said go to my van. Very nice fellow. Took us back, quite rapidly which i think got him stopped by police. He got us back to hotel 625 PM after sropping off a bunch of others he had rounded up at parking lot. Not what we expected. Emailed company and they said driver had told us to go to boat and we didn't.. Out and out lie. I sent pics of van etc and no reply or compensation. DONT BOOK.Written January 22, 2020

- 592marysed0 contributionswonderful place and peopleWe stayed at Carlos' hostel in Taganga, and everything was great; Carlos is very friendly, answered all our requests and helped us organize our visit to the Tayrona, giving great tips and accommodating our needs. We then traveled to Cabo San Juan, and we felt in love with the place; the park is still very well preserved, the nature is just amazing and the beach is perfect to swim and explore!! We highly recommend it!!
