About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 101giulianog0 contributionsConcha and chengue in one day tourThank You very much for the wonderful days we'd with Angélica and all the staff, expecially with the chengue and bahía concha one day tour, solitary beaches, snorkeling, good food(not incluied)and kindly guide.Good job!!Written March 31, 2024

- jsa2390 contributionsRecommend confirming with agency that they are aware of your reservationDisappointing that we were late for the tour. We were waiting and waiting for our transport and turns out nobody was on their way. Luckily our hostel owner made many phone calls on our behalf saying that he was looking at our receipt and could validate that we had in fact paid and had confirmation. The agency sent a vehicle out and we joined a group late. Once a part of the group the experience was worthwhile. The falls were quite small but nice nonetheless. Lunch at jungle joe’s was a fabulous 3 course meal. Our guide had a good sense of humour and was very knowledgeable. Learning about coffee was good and making chocolate was great 👍🏼Written April 26, 2022
- 327juanfelipeg0 contributionsMixed feelingsThe experience was great and the crew was friendly. There was a lot of trash on the beach at Taganga, though.Written April 21, 2022
- marekjG1672CZ0 contributionsGreat day in Minca regionThis tour was great, but its a packed day filled with many activities, so be ready! Transport is taxi, which they will send to get you at your hotel. In Minca you will walk through jungle/forrest and get to the first stop, which will be about coffee, you will go through whole process, but its still quite brief. Then you will taste the coffee that they make, go to the small waterfall, where you can also swim, walk to the place where you will have lunch. The lunch was more luxurious than I expected. After lunch there is talk about biodiversity (which I really enjoyed) and little bit about cacao and bamboo. You even get to make your own chocolate 'bar', which was awesome. And also Sam was a great guide.Written April 19, 2022

They take pictures at the spot so make sure they get your information so that you can get them emailed to you. You get dropped off at playa grande if you want and taken back to the meet spot at a selected time you choose. Good deal for the priceWritten February 29, 2020
- 967duncanl0 contributionsPlaya CristalI was satisfied with daytrip to Playa Cristal. This was the main part of a long day trip from Cartagena which included lunch at the beach. At the Park entrance all visitors are encouraged to sit through a talk and short video about Tayrona. At this place you may also be told that you need sunscreen , insect repellent, etc available of course from the shop there. I resisted the suggestion to buy insect repellent and nothing bit me all day. There is a painfully slow rutted gravel road to another beach very near Cristal. However there was a stop at a viewpoint. From this other beach you are taken on a very short launch journey to Cristal Cristal beach is attactive and clean and safe to swim away from where the launches pull up. At the far end, from where the launch arrives, there is live coral and quite good snorkelling. Luckily I had brought my kit but if you consider it worth having, mask and snorkel are available to buy at a reasonable price from Park entrance shop which I mentioned earlier. (In fact the snorkelling was much better than in another trip earlier in the week to Rosario where we were told we could only snorkel with a life vest on!) The fact that lunch was included meant that we could use the shaded beach canteen area as our base, refuge, place to dump our stuff, etc. I found this useful. We had about three hours there with lunch in the middle. I was well satisfiedWritten February 12, 2020
- Rachael123420140 contributionsBook in advance online or face 1+ hour ques and reduced time at the beachThis review is aimed at fit people and has a sustainability angle Based on a day trip, not overnighting. I visited the park on Friday 6th December 2019, the first day a new administration took over the park and the que was horrendous by 10am. An exercise in compete inefficiency with 300 or so people waiting in a hot line rather than enjoying the park. Before you go Make sure you book online 48 hours before your visit to avoid the horrible ques. I wasnt told about this until I reached the gate. Another nasty surprise is that you need to bring your passport. I managed to get in with just my passport number, but don't risk it. An ID card may also be accepted but I can't confirm 100% What to take I'm told food and drinks inside are expensive, plus it all seems to be brought in on the backs of some not very healthy looking horses. It's also possible to ride these from the shuttle for 40k, but I chose not to ride them because it seems unfair on the undernourished overworked looking animals. I think it's best to bring at least 1 litre water per person, your own food and wear trainers or walking shoes, ideally canvas ankle boots which I use in hot and cold weather. Of course take all your rubbish back out with you in your bag. Leave nothing but footprints. When to go I guess that weekends and holidays are the busiest, so perhaps weekdays are best if you want to avoid crowds. Late December and new year are likely to be busiest. The gates let people in 8am to 5pm only I heard, but on a day ticket you don't need to be out by 5, although you won't probably want to walk back in the dark! I wished I had brought my head torch just in case. The process to get in As an English speaker this was confusing. First you're sold insurance by people with clipboards for 4000 cop which is mandatory, then you wait in the long qué to pay 64k for entry, then pay 3000 to go in a mini bus, then walk to wherever you want to go. How to get to Cabo San Juan There's only 2 beaches where it's safe to swim and this is one of them and the most famous and beautiful, so I'm told. From the shuttle bus it takes a fit person with no stops 1.5 hours to walk there briskly, Including getting stuck behind several groups taking photos who wouldn't let people through. I was told before hand it was 2-3 hours, so that's if you're not fit or you keep stopping. I also started out at the same time as some people on horses and arrived at the same time as the same group, so it's not faster by horse, contrary to what the horse handlers tell you. The walk It's up and down at first, then comes to a dangerous to swim beach that seems fenced off, then a hot sandy stretch, more in trees behind the beach, drinks sellers Intermittently, then more flat, mostly in shade, then opens to piscina beach, then inland through lots of mud and finally to cabo San Juan. Light day trip packing list Money at least 100k Water 1-2 litres Food (I got a sandwich from my hostel cafe for 15k) Sunscreen Sunglasses Mozzie spray Goggles Tissues Mobile? Boots Bikini X 2 - wet n dry Comfortable walking trousers Long sleeve light shirt Hat Sarong Book - optional Is it worth it If you enjoy a long trek, and annoying ques and selfie takers - yes but definitely avoid busy days Summary Arrive at 8am park entrance Book 48 hours in advance Wear walking shoes and sunscreen Bring food and water and sunscreen Take out everything you bring in and put outside the park into recycling bins Don't support the horse riding, instead donate to the horseshoes charity who rescue the old worn out horses from TayronaWritten December 6, 2019
