Great tour in Jerusalem an Dead Sea
Nov 2019
We took the tour in Jerusalem and a trip to the Dead Sea.
It was a wonderful tour with our guide (Sandy) which is very knowledgeable.
He told us many historical facts in a very profound way.
Also his special kind of humor added some flavor to the experiences we had.

We certainly want to come back one day to Israel and for sure we will choose your company again for a guided tour (especially Sandy).

Thanks a lot for the great experiences we had.
We will always cherish it , and maybe until soon.

Great experience at Jerusalem
Nov 2019
We took the Holy Land cruise with Royal Caribbean, due to the unexpected activities, the ship was not able to port at Ashdod instead ported at Haifa overnight. Guided Tours Israel reacted to the situation and letting me know if the the ship skipped Ashhod, they would pick us up at Haifa. this added 3+hours commute time for the tour.
8 of us booked a private tour, regardless the longer commute time, we were picked up on time at the Haifa port, our guide [sorry forgot her name] was very knowledgeable, she gave us an overview during the ride to Jerusalem, and answer questions very patiently.
After completing the Jerusalem tour, we went to Dead Sea in the afternoon, one little regret was only 2 of us prepared to float at the Dead Sea primarily due to the facility description from the Guided Tours Israel. the facility is better than described.
Overall, we enjoyed the tour and definitely recommend this tour.

Highlight of our Holy Land Cruise!
Nov 2019
Jerusalem is why we booked our Royal Caribbean Holy Land cruise. Finding this tour company turned out to be a great experience.

We were supposed to dock in Ashdod which is the port city for Jerusalem. However, there was some escalated unrest activity that required Royal Caribbean to relook at passenger security. The decision was made to skip Ashdod and spend two days docked in Haifa. Guided Tours Israel was also monitoring the situation and e-mailed me proactively letting me know that if the ship skipped Ashdod that they would pick us up in Haifa. This meant that we would not miss Jerusalem. It would also translate into a longer transport to and from the area, but since we did not have to get back to the ship a certain time, it was not an issue.

Our tour guide was Ryan - a US native who has lived and worked in Israel for 19 years. Originally, he was an archaeologist working on Jerusalem dig sites. He has also extensively studied Biblical history. He does a fine job of combining both sets of knowledge into site briefings that bring history to life. He can get a bit verbose at times which he does recognize. He is just trying to connect all the dots for this area that is often hard to understand.

Since we had the longer transport, he flipped our tour schedule which turned out to be the best decision. We started our day floating in the Dead Sea. If you want pictures on the beach / in the water, bring a camera and just take turns going in the water while the other watches the cameras. There are many steps to get to the beach as the Sea is evaporating at a fast pace. There are many chairs on the beach. Despite the Guided Tours Israel description of the minimal shower and bath house facilities, it was fine. There is a shower on the beach and in the bathhouse. There are lockers for a nominal fee using your credit card. There is an outdoor bar, a restaurant, and many picnic tables if you brought your own food.

Next stop was the Mount of Olives where we got a bird's eye view of Jerusalem. Here, you get the understanding of how dense this place is and how small the walled city really is.

Moved on to tour the Garden of Gethsemane and attached church. Here you also get a good view to the walled up gate which is supposed to be used when Christ returns.

Onto Jerusalem. We mostly toured the Christian section, then ventured into the Church of the Holy Seplecur. Ryan knew it well which helped with the crowds and the Franciscan monks processing through for services. As this is a major stop on any tour, it is crowded plus there is only one entrance/exit making it a challenge to move around. Ryan is short so we followed his raised blue clipboard!

We ended with what we consider to be the highlight of our tour - the Western Wall. Because Ryan flipped our tour, we were privileged to be here after dusk on a Friday - the start of the Jewish Sabbath. As Christians, what an experience to walk among the Jewish worshipers at this holy time. It was both reverent and joyous at the same time. There was a box of free kippahs for the non-Jewish men to put on their head if they wanted to approach the wall. You worked your way up past many in prayer and found a spot to stand / touch the wall. You can leave a slip of paper with something appropriate - prayer, names, etc. - in a crack.

Overall, it was a day full of awe and learning. There were 14 on our tour and I think the max is 16 on a very comfortable Mercedes tour van. The driver had water for sale at less than the sites. Not sure what it was as we had our own. Our tour was mid-November and a cool day. The sites were crowded. I can only imagine what it must be like in the summer or school holidays. So, pick your visit times carefully!

Definitely recommend this tour if you only have one day and ask for Ryan!

Would have been good but too crowded
Nov 2019
I was so excited to go to Jerusalem and this trip was a disappointment. I came on a cruise ship so I couldn't choose the day. It was a Friday. In retrospect I should have done something else. This is the Muslim holy day and the crowds were bone crushing. Our guide was good but there was nothing he could do about the crowds. The scariest part was when we were led through the Arab Market and our guide did not want to stop. He walked quickly through a maze of shops never checking to make sure the whole group was with him. Meanwhile hundreds of people were coming in from all directions and my husband and I got separated from the group. We did eventually catch up, after being lost for about 15 minutes, but I felt that the tour guide was rushing through everything. I know it was crowded and he wanted to get to all the sites on time but he should have been more careful. All the sites in the old town were the same. The guide rushing through, crowds overwhelming. The Dead Sea was much better and I was glad the day ended on a positive note.

Thank you for your review and mentioning that the guide was good. We are sorry that you felt the crowds made the visit difficult, but of course we cannot control the number of visitors on a specific day. We offer a moneyback guarantee if you are unhappy with our service due to circumstances which are within our control. We offer small group excursions at a fraction of the cost of the cruise ship excursions. We look forward to seeing you in Israel! Guided Tours Israel (com)

Amazing Day
Nov 2019
6 of us enjoyed the most amazing day in Jerusalem and then the Dead Sea. So much to see and do in Jerusalem - we all agreed that we wished we had more than just the one day to see and absorb everything. Our driver Ehud was great. If you are heading to Jerusalem we would recommend Guided Tours Israel. Most importantly try to have more than one day.

Great Dead Sea experience
Oct 2019
Our crusie ship was leaving at 2:00 pm so we took a private car to the Dead Sea in the morning. Our driver Ehud was excellent, very polite and knowledgeable of the area, he anwered all our questions about history and political situation of the area. The Dead Sea experience was amazing!!! Once in a lifetime!! we had 3 hs to float on the sea, to do mud scrubs and to enjoy the beach. Our concern was to get back on time for our cruise and everything was perfectly arranged for us. I will highly recommend this company and Ehud as a tour guide.

Quick in and out
Nov 2019 • Couples
The tour is perfect if you want a flash view of the top sites. No time to absorb the experience or to buy souvenirs except at the 2 expensive and selected places by the tour guide.
Some of the sites were very crowded so it was good to have a guide to take us around.
However, we didn't like the restaurants selected for lunch. All in all, a good first time visitors tour.

Thank you for your review and for mentioning that it was a good visit overall. Obviously, we cannot control how crowded the sites are on a specific day. As for the shopping – as we sent you in an email several times prior to the tour, we do not recommend shopping when you are on a shore excursion with so little time and so much to see. Kindly read the information that we send you in advance to avoid disappointment. Our shore excursions are done in small groups and at half the price of the big bus tours that are offered by the cruise ship. We also offer a moneyback guarantee if you are disappointed with our service for any reason within our control. We hope to see you in Israel for a perfect experience on your next visit! Excellent 3 Day Private Tour of Israel
Oct 2019
We booked three consecutive days of private tours from Guided Tours Israel during our recent Celebrity Infinity cruise (Sept 27 - Oct 11, 2019). From the start of the process, Leo was very prompt in responding to all our questions and helping us book our private tour for 9 people (25-80 years old). Our bus driver & guide were waiting for us with our contact's name on a sign at the cruise port. Then, we met Mickey (Michaela) our fantastic tour guide for all three days. She gave us an amazing three days of Israel, our favorite destination by far of all the cruise ports we visited. She worked hard to show us more than we could have expected for our three full days (mostly Christian and Old Testament Jewish sites). Due to Mickey's amazing skill and knowledge as a tour guide, we all felt we experienced the "real Israel,", not the boring touristy version. Thank you Leo, Mickey and our bus driver (sorry, forgot his name), for the best Israel experience ever!

So Much To See
Oct 2019
Had a great tour. Abbey, our guide was very knowledgable and very helpful. We covered a lot, but had plenty of breaks. Loved the small 14 person tour. They lived up to our expectations and we would use this company again.
