About
"Experience Nature" Totsukawa special experience
Totsukawa is the largest of Japan's 183 village districts.
No less than 96% of the district is covered by forest. We have created a program which offers the chance to see what life is like for the local people who live so close to nature in this little visited corner of Japan.
You are certain to be given the warmest of welcomes by the local folk, and to gain insights into the ways in which they live in harmony with nature.
This is a special plan that allows you to enjoy traditional dishes like meharizushi and the Totsukawa Oh-odori dance (a registered intangible important folk cultural property) with local people.
*This is a 1-night, 2-day trip where you will interact with local people and feel true Japanese culture.
*We are offering a ticket to enjoy some of the onsen hot spring baths in Totsukawa Village, as a present just for people who apply in 2020. (first come first serve, limited availability)

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Muhammad Hilmi M0 contributionsStrolling along the parkSpend 1/2 day here. once you reached the station, exit and take the 1 day pass that cost your Y500. Alternatively the tickets to NARA dear park is Y210 each way. The deer wont disappoint you as there's plenty of them. After Oct 2019, the cost of biscuit to feed the deer is Y200 instead of Y150. Plenty of temples around but you need good legs. Alternatively you can take the rickshaw for a small fee. For the muslims, there's a good halal outlet, PY Halal that offers 100% muslim food and the owner is pleasant. There an attached prayer room in the same restaurant. You wont miss it as it is where the shopping area is located.Written October 5, 2019
- ujwalaevani0 contributionsUp Close & Personal With The DeerIt was an amazing experience for my family. People of all ages will love interacting with the deer at Nara Park. We bought 8 packets of food for the deer and the hungry deer finished them all. :) There are hundreds of deer roaming the streets and the park. And the icing on the cake is the deer bowing to you, asking for food. Superb!Written November 27, 2018
