About
You can enjoy tea fields surrounded by Japan's beautiful nature, which is usually prohibited to enter. ( Depends on the weather/season, we cannot enter there) Escape the big city as a family! The central Kyoto is too crowded and don't know what to do/ where to go with your kids? You should come and join our Ujitawara tour! You can be surrounded by beautiful Japan's nature, and enjoy tea picking (If it is the season), having tea outdoor. Your children can also enjoy running and playing outdoor! Sometimes our guides bring their children, too. So your children can make local playmates!

Tea Farm visit with Kyoto with Kids
Tea, green tea most especially, has always been a favorite beverage for my family. Imagine being able to visit a tea farm in Japan and indulging in an all encompassing tea experience with your whole family. This is a delightful experience through and through. Kyoto with Kids made this extraordinary experience one for the books for my whole family. The day trip includes activities like green tea ceremonies for both adults and children (separate programs contoured to each group), hands on green tea making, lunch with green tea soba and green tea dessert, visit to a tea house, visit to of a temple dedicated to tea. The Private tour made us deeply connect with the Uji tea village and its people. We got to meet the tea farmers and able to take home their products to enjoy. The adults were able to enjoy fully while the kids were at the safe hands of Kyoto with Kids.

Thank you Miho and team at Kyoto with Kids. I hope more people can experience this wonderful offering.

A Must for Tea Lovers!
Jan 2020 • Family
This has got to be the highlight of our family’s Japan trip. For tea lovers, this is quite a unique experience and Kyoto with Kids made it even more pleasurable! We travelled with an 8 month old, a 6 year old, 7 year old and an 8 year old and Miho, Yumiko and Yuki made sure the day was enjoyable for all 12 of us. The lunch that was included has got to the the best soba I have ever had and of course every tea they offered were superb. The highlight of the day for me was visiting the house of Nagatani Souen (inventor of sencha) and of course, having tea there. Truly a great experience.

Must tour for tea lovers!
Jan 2020 • Family
Just returned home from Kyoto and this tour turned out to be one of my family’s trip highlights. We are tea lovers and Uji matcha is super popular in many many stores in Japan so why not experience everything matcha has to offer! The service by Kyoto with kids was top notch for both adults and children. We were able to fully enjoy our tour because there were opportunities for adults to relax and be educated on the origins of tea, matcha ceremony and eat a scrumptious lunch while the kids are bring entertained and looked after by the staff. The children were able to run around the tea fields, learn Japanese origami, matcha ceremony and play games while the adults enjoy grinding tea, sampling many different kinds of tea and a private matcha ceremony. The tea plantation cafe served green tea soba and my daughter finished the entire bowl! Don’t miss the cafe’s green tea ice cream parfait! The plantation only takes cash so be aware in case you want to buy a lot of tea to bring back home (I guarantee you will!) Kyoto with kids provided a super comfortable bus transportation from our accommodation to Uji and our guide Miho has excellent communication skills and addressed all our needs. She even helped us make dinner reservations!! Don’t hesitate to book this tour! Your family will surely enjoy a day away from Kyoto’s crowds!
