- logand9000 contributionsReliable Transportation from An Awesome ManLouis is the man! He gave us a ride from Managua to Aposentillo and was very communicative before our trip, giving us piece of mind that he’d be there as soon as we landed. On our 4 hour drive he gave us some awesome history lessons on the area and the country of Nicaragua. He’s a very kind man and tought us some fun local words to say in Spanish. He waited patiently at the grocery store as we loaded up on groceries for a week stay on the beach. His prices are more than fair and he’s a genuinely great man. Please consider him if you need a ride anywhere in Nicaragua.Written June 17, 2023

- CKTravels_World0 contributionsFlor de Cana, Leon and the Museum of Legend and TraditionsWe contacted Luis ti arrange a tour from Puertas de Sol marina and began our adventure at 7am. We found Luis to be a brilliant guide with phenomenon knowledge and experience in the region. The tours were great and Luis was able to provide a narrative of all the sites. In addition he seems to know everyone such that we received personal service everywhere we went. While the highlight was tasting the 1987 Flor de Cana we'll also never forget the hilarious tour of the museum of legends and traditions. Luis' narrative was priceless!Written February 21, 2020

- Saucelito490 contributionsPrivate tour to Leon from PortWe were fortunate to find David, Wilmer, and Edwardo for our day trip to Old Leon from our port! The young men were polite, professional and proficient in English! The van was well-kept, cool and clean! They shared the highlights of the city and shared lunch with us! We felt very safe and secure in a foreign city! We highly recommend this tour group! We are friends for life! THANK YOU!Written November 4, 2019
- Passport5413840 contributionsCouldn't Ask for a better tour company or guidesWe were three seniors wanting to see the old coffee plantation on the volcano. I knew we didn't have a group of 8 for the advertised tour but I wrote the company anyway and asked if they might have something similar available for three. To my surprise, Pinolero Tours offered us the same tour at a discounted price and what a wonderful tour. We spent a wonderful day driving up the mountain where the driver had to get out and remove vines from the road with his machete, then toured some of the local scenes where our guide took us shopping in her local grocery store where we could get Nicaragian coffee at a better price and then escorted us to the market place where tourist didn't go. An overall wonderful experience with a tour company proud to show us their country. It was the best tour of the trip!Written June 11, 2019
- seniortravelers20120 contributionsTerrific tour from Pinolero ToursI was the organizer of a private shore excursion for 10 people in December 2017, Luis Vanegas was exceptional in his attention to detail and arranging a custom tour to meet our needs. I had researched a small archeological museum in a town about an hour's drive from the cruise dock. Luis arranged for the volunteer-staffed museum to be open and for an English speaking local museum docent. He also recommended other stops along the way that enhanced our experience. Luis and I exchanged several emails during the planning process. He was exceptionally diligent and knowledgable. He is also a fluent English speaker with a keen knowledge and interest in Nicaraguan history and culture. And he is a delightful man. I highly recommend him and his company. He is top-notch. And this from VERY seasoned international independent travelers.Written June 11, 2019
- marc_vandeplas0 contributionsOur unforgettable day trip in Corinto, Flor de Cana Distillery and ChinandegaWe stopped in Corinto as part of the MSC World Cruise. We were kindly welcomed by Luis the Manager, Ernesto our driver and Walter our guide who spoke perfect English straight at the harbor as we came out of the cruiseship. We drove to some typical village, visited the market and then visited the Flor de Cana Rhum Factory with the best Rhum in the world. If you like rhum, you have to buy the 25 Year old. You can even ask upfront to have your name engraved upon it. Had a quick lunch and visited a small Spanish colonial city of Chinandega. Another option would have been to visit Leon but that was further away and would have been a bit of a rush in one day. Instead we took the time to really appreciate the fantastic local contacts and did a small tour of Corinto also (there is a beautiful steam loco, one of the few that were used in the sugar cane fields. So we really loved the atmosphere and the people we met. If you visit that part of Nicaragua, Pinolero Tours is a must. Wish we had spent more time there.Written May 9, 2019
- Isabelle-sensible0 contributionsBest tour operator in NicaraguaFinally, a tour operator in Nicaragua who goes the extra mile. Up until today, we’ve paid high prices with operators who have not only not delivered the service as advertised, but also not even provided a bottle of water. On our 3-hour drive each way from Leon to Chinandega to hike Volcan Cosiguina, Don Luis gave us water, bought tortillas and cuajadas for everyone to share, and had fresh watermelon for us at the end of the hike. These courtesies made our day so pleasant and provided a contrast to what we’d experienced before. His tour guide Wilmer was excellent and we all shared good conversation. Everyone was fluent in English, and in Nicaraguan culture and history. I give high marks to Pinoleros.Written April 18, 2018

- Karen M0 contributionsExcellent tour of Corinto areaMy friends and I spent the Christmas Eve day with guide Paola Sanchez touring the Corinto area. She did such a great job - she's an English teacher in the area. When the tour ended she joined me for a beverage in the town square near the cruise ship. I really enjoyed our conversation. I highly recommend this reliable, efficient tour company and especially my new friend, Paola!Written January 17, 2018
- TravelLady_USA_GO0 contributionsGreat, reliable transportationHighly recommend using them for private transportation between towns. Not only were they early, but the main tour operator met us at the airport and introduced us to our driver. He even called at 4:30am in the morning while we were in transit to the airport to confirm we had everything we needed. Definitely use them if you need transportation in Nicaragua.Written January 11, 2018
- Jenmosley0 contributionsHorseback to the volcanoLuis made arrangements for us to ride horses up to Volcan Cosiguina. He arranged pick up, local guides, horses, snacks and water. It was a fantastic day of adventure and good times. The ride up is quite long and challenging in areas, but the horses were broke even for inexperienced riders. The views of the crater lake are amazing. Wonderful day!Written August 15, 2017
- mbmbrown0 contributionsWonderful experience! My wife and I did the San Ramos kayak tour a week ago. Luis had a driver pick us up at our hotel in Chinandega and drive us to the estuary area. There we met up with our guide Aziel. He took us on an unbelievable trip to the back country. The mangroves were beautiful along with the wildlife. He was relatively new on his job and his English was not good enough to consider bi-lingual but that was part of the experience for us! A super nice and hard working young man. He certainly showed us a good time. Luis is a good man to get to know in Chinandega. He gave us a lot of good advice about Nicaragua in general and told us to feel free to call him at any point in our trip if we needed advice or help.Written January 16, 2016
