About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- philiphN271QK0 contributionsGood but not greatVery nice views. Sad for the overcrowding and overall cleanness of the pool - ritual was fine - basic. Some underwater rocksWritten March 7, 2025
- Alonza T0 contributionsSky Lagoon ExperienceDon’t hesitate to book, 10/10 experience. I highly recommend. No matter what time of year it’s always a great time. Water temperature is amazing and the 7 step ritual was everything.Written March 2, 2025
- 904ddg0 contributionsSky Lagoon 3.5 out of 5First time to Iceland and Sky Lagoon. Experience was something mixed between a hotel pool with swim up bar / DIY spa / snack shop. Skjol ritual was pushed as a relaxing and healing activity but everyone with iPhone cameras and loud conversation kind of took away from the relaxation experience. The staff were fantastic. Warm and very helpful to a new comer for sure. The facility it quite impressive to visit. I didn’t expect what I saw inside when I drove into the parking lot. The visual experience of the facility itself was really great. Mix that with the hot/cold water/steam/mist of the Skjol experience. I wanted to be more present and so I’m glad I left my phone in my locker.Written February 27, 2025
- Phong N0 contributionsDelight in the hot spring water contrasting with the cold airI booked my Adult Sér Online Admission by their website. I like the private changing room with shower. You have to take a light shower. I locked my belongings in the adjacent locker using my wristband. The most delight I had was the hot spring water contrasting with the cold air, and enjoying that with a drink from the swim-up bar. I could sit around in that for a long time. The infinity pool area was not overly crowded and I could easily wade around to the waterfall, rock seats, and alcoves. For me, the Skjól ritual was nice with the saunas, salt+oil+shower, but for my next visit I would rather sit more in the hot water and enjoy the scenery. I did not think about including the roundtrip bus ride. The taxi rides to/fro are almost four times the price of the bus ride. There is a three drink limit in the pool.Written February 23, 2025

- R6369QVrh0 contributionsNo cellphones pleaseNo doubt, this thermal bath is special and can provide a surreal and soothing experience. But when you are surrounded by hundreds of people filming everything while moving around the lagoon, it kind of hampers the experience. This is a gross violation of privacy. Cellphones should be banned here.Written February 6, 2025

- Sibel Y0 contributionsUnforgettable experience!Visiting Sky Lagoon was the highlight of my trip to Iceland! The location is amazing - right on the ocean, offering sweeping views of the Reykjavik coastline, and the calming waters contrast beautifully with the rugged landscape around you! - 524SteveB5240 contributionsA must do attraction....We have visited other Spa's on previous visits but Sky Lagoon stands head and shoulders above anything experienced previously. Idyllic location, 15 minute taxi ride from heart of Reykjavic. Spotlessly clean and an incredible environment to relax for a few hours. In our opinion a must do attraction...Written January 13, 2025

- reneeilles0 contributionsWe LOVE Sky Lagoon! We visit Iceland frequently as our daughter and her family live in Reykjavik. Sky Lagoon is always a favorite stop for us. Relaxing, scenic and a wonderful experience day or night. The expansion of the 7-step ritual area is very nice. We will be back!!Written January 9, 2025
- Dreamer410670 contributionsA must experience eventWe recommend ending your day with a visit to the Sky Lagoon. It is so enjoyable, and the heat relaxes you to the point of feeling like jelly. It's a total body experience; do not miss it. This is less of a tourist trap than the Blue Lagoon.Written January 9, 2025
- Guillaume B0 contributionsOverpricedLooking at the price we pay; I would expect: - way more activities within the lagoon, - unlimited access to the spa, not just one, - all-you-can-drink at the bar within the lagoon. Otherwise I would expect a way lower price. We paid 350e for 2 people for an experience barely better than the public swimming pool worth 10e per person. This is absolutely insane.Written January 8, 2025

One thing I ended up absolutely loving during my stay in Iceland was the culture of bathing and the many thermal baths and hot springs available around the country. Sky Lagoon came highly recommended to me while I was researching things to do on my last day in Iceland. It is an extremely short drive from downtown Reykjavík and is accessible by public transportation as well.
While there are several types of tickets you can purchase, I highly recommend the Pure Experience, which was 9990 ISK per person at the time of my visit. With this ticket, you get access to the pool as well as the seven step Ritual, which takes place in the Turf House. You can stay in the waters for as long as you like, but once you enter the Turf House, you cannot go back to the pool. The Ritual includes a hot sauna with spectacular views, a cold mist, a sample of their body scrub, a steam room, and a shower. The body scrub worked wonders for my skin and I definitely regret not purchasing my own tub at the gift shop. My skin felt nourished and smoothed and so incredibly soft, even days after I left Iceland.
The lagoon itself is man-made, but it is gorgeous and boasts an infinity pool view of the coast as well as various other photogenic spots. Unlike Blue Lagoon, the waters do not contain silica so it is safe for you to dunk your head underwater and not worry about your hair or your eyes. I booked tickets around opening hours so we had the place mostly to ourselves for the first 45 minutes, but then it started to get crowded. The staff here are very kind and professional, and the locker rooms were clean and adequately outfitted with enough blow dryers.
If you have time to visit Sky Lagoon, I would definitely recommend the experience. Half of my group felt that they enjoyed Sky Lagoon better than Blue Lagoon because it felt less touristy and the facilities were sleeker and newer.

Hi there anotheraeolist, thank you so much for taking the time to write so kindly about your Sky Lagoon
journey. During their visit guests can at any time experience the Ritual and return to the lagoon, it is however due to safety reasons we do not recommend doing the Ritual more than once.
We feel so lucky to have been a part of your time in Iceland and hope that we get to welcome you again one day!

Let me start by saying this was great and I highly recommend, This is much closer to the city than other similar experiences in the country. Though close to the city it appeared you still needed transportation as the closest bus stop looked far. We did this as the end to a day tour and it was great and transportation was included. The facility tried to instill a very upscale look and feel of luxury and they come close but fall short on some small details. We did the package with a private changing room by accident. Can’t say what the other locker room was like but this made for a nice start. As you enter they ask you to take off your shoes and socks before entering the changing area, then someone shows you to an available changing room. First small detail missed was a heated floor, would have made the impression perfect. They tell you to shower and show you a locker, the shower was timed like many bathroom sinks and was not long enough. From here there more instruction would have been nice. Many people could be heard saying “what do we do now” all over the facility. You enter directly into the pool which was a nice impression and wonderful feeling. We were there at night and the ambiance was great in the pool but you spent a while exploring and finding things as there was no indication what was available and where. The ritual had staff at each step to explain what to do except outside to direct you in. The sauna had a large window looking into the bay but too much light inside and none outside made it more a mirror. There was also too much space between the steps. Coming directly from the sauna to the cold mist would feel better rather than having to walk a hallway and cool off before getting to it. At the end of the ritual is a shot sized drink that was very good, but almost everyone asked at the bar if it was available to get more and it wasn’t. If you made it this far I’m sure it sounds like I have lots of complaints but the experience was great these were very small details that could make it perfect.

Hi there bordenbfe, thank you for taking the time to review your Sky Lagoon journey! We’re thrilled to hear that you had a great experience and would highly recommend Sky Lagoon. It’s wonderful that you found the proximity to the city convenient and enjoyed the ambiance, especially as the perfect ending to a day tour with included transportation. Thank you for sharing your detailed observations—it’s feedback like yours that helps us improve. The private changing room package does add a touch of comfort, and we’re glad it made for a smooth start to your visit. We hear your suggestion about heated floors; that would indeed enhance the luxurious feel. Your comments about clearer instructions and signage are valuable. We’ll take this into consideration to ensure our guests feel fully guided through their Seven-Step Ritual journey. The pool's nighttime ambiance is a highlight for many, and we’re glad you enjoyed it, even if some exploration was needed to discover everything. We appreciate your input regarding the sauna lighting, spacing between steps, and the desire for more of the shot-sized drink at the end. While these may seem like small details, they make a difference in creating the seamless, upscale experience we aim for. Thank you again for your thoughtful review! We’re delighted you had a great time overall and hope to welcome you back to Sky Lagoon for an even more refined experience in the future.

The Sky Lagoon was absolutely lovely, whilst the location as you're approaching is very industrial given it's location at the end of the peninsular the building itself is lovely and very carefully designed. Check in was easy, all staff were very helpful and friendly. Changing rooms were lovely, huge with easy lockers to use with the wrist band provided upon entry. The shower areas and toiletries provided smell amazing and there is certainly not a sulphuric smell at the lagoon as you hear about in the blue lagoon or others.
It was sold out when we went so I was expecting it to be very busy but there was plenty of space to find a little area to yourselves, overlooking the ocean or on the seats and benches in and around the rocks. We deliberately went mid afternoon so we would see it in daylight and experience it getting dark as well which was really nice.
The swim up bar was fairly priced, less than you would expect for such a place, a drink was similar or less than what you would pay in London. The bar also sold waterproof sleeves for your phone and hats etc.
We had the pure booking which included entry to the hut and Icelandic spa steps, this was staffed with people telling you where to go.... It was pretty busy in the sauna and it didn't take long to go through each step. The experience was nice and the scrub did leave my skin soft but it was quite small in the hut so I'm not sure it was totally worth the extra money, but worth doing once for sure.
Only thing we could see that really needed sorting/improving was having someone collecting empty glasses, there were stacks of the building up on rocks all over the place as people rudely left them. Maybe the bar staff need to explicitly tell people to bring them back to the bar when they give out drinks?
Overall, lovely place and experience - definitely felt more adult and sophisticated than blue lagoon. I would highly recommend!

Hi there katylou82, thank you for taking the time to review your Sky Lagoon journey. Our neighborhood is transforming from a industrial to a mixed neighborhood where people can live, work and enjoy leisure activities all in one place. We appreciate your comment and recognize that it is a work in progress. Hearing your positive feedback about the swim-up bar's pricing and the additional items we offer brings us great joy. We've taken note of your comment on the need for more proactive glass collection to maintain the cleanliness and aesthetics of our environment. This is invaluable feedback, and we'll be looking into ways to better manage this.
We are so happy to see how much you enjoyed your visit and hope that we get so lucky to welcome you again someday!

I visited the Sky Lagoon today on my last day in Iceland. The lagoon is very pretty and I recommend getting there early (aka as soon as they open) to avoid the crowds. I purchased the Ser package which includes the 7 step ritual and a private shower / changing space ($115) and I have to say it was not worth it at all.
For the 7 step ritual, no one tells you to do the cold plunge first so completely missed that. Then the cold mist sprays were not working so we’re now down to 5 steps.
I exit and purchase a drink and try to relax amongst the huge crowds of cruise guests that unloaded around 10am. Unfortunately while I’m trying to have my drink and relax in a little nook, there is suddenly a SCREAMING infant! I was under the impression there were not small children allowed here yet there was a baby absolutely screaming its head off in what was the more expensive locker room area. Completely unacceptable. The baby crying was echoing throughout where all the little twists and turn caves are to relax and made it a truly terrible experience. I didn’t even bother finishing my drink or showering as I could get more peace at my hotel. Completely unacceptable to have a crying baby ruining the experience for others, especially when the lagoon claims no children under the age of 12.

Dear lc9865,
Thank you for sharing your experience at Sky Lagoon. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the beauty of the lagoon, and we appreciate your tip about arriving early to avoid crowds. However, we sincerely apologize for the disruptions you faced during your visit.
We regret that you weren’t informed about the cold plunge and that some of the ritual features were not functioning. We also understand your frustration regarding the sound interference, especially given our policy on children. Your feedback is important, and we will address these concerns with our team to ensure a more enjoyable experience for all guests.
Thank you for your insights, and we hope to welcome you back for a more peaceful visit in the future.

I really liked sky Lagoon. We got off our plane and it was so windy that I was worried about going to the lagoon. But the water was so warm and relaxing. It was absolutely fabulous. We were one of the first few to go in the morning at 9 AM upon opening. The Lagoon is very large. We did the seven step ritual, except I did not do the cold plunge. It was already too cold out. I like that they had private dressing, rooms and showers. I don’t know exactly how long we stayed there but it could’ve been an hour and a half. They have lots of towels and even some drinking water for you. It was a beautiful lagoon and a good way to start our trip in Iceland. Highly recommend

We had booked Sky pass tickets (with private changing facilities including private shower).
Very modern and clean facilities.
The entrance to the lagoon is basically next to the changing room so no time to feel the cold.
The water was lovely and warm around 38oc and the views were beautiful.
We did the Ritual ,and the sauna was pretty special, glass window with full view of the ocean. I enjoyed the ritual although the 7 steps are very quick.
The exfoliating almond scrub was lovely and left the skin very soft.
It felt a little bit crowded to me although the friends i was with had been to the Blue Lagoon before and said Sky Lagoon felt much more private and less busy.
Swim up bar, serving various beers/wines/prosecco/aperol. Max 3 drinks per person during the time in the lagoon.
No shoes nor sliders allowed inside (they have to be removed prior to entering the changing facilities).
They also recommend removing all jewelry to avoid any tarnishing.
Lockers are available to store all belongings. Very secure as Sky Lagoon provide a plastic bracelet to open/close lockers, the same bracelet can also be used to pay at the bar. The bar bill is settled on departure when giving the bracelet back.
We had wondered about booking transfers with bus etc, but we took a taxi from Reykjavik, this only took about 10 minutes, and was around 6000 ISK.
Sky Lagoon staff called a taxi for us for the return.
All in all a very enjoyable and special day. The views from the lagoon at sunset were simply gorgeous and i felt very relaxed after spending the afternoon there.
Perfect way to end our holiday in Iceland. Great memories made.

I heard so much about Sky Lagoon, and it lived up to my expectations. The whole experience was very cool and relaxing. I definitely recommend the Ser pass and to do the 7 step ritual. I went when it was dark outside, but the views and atmosphere were still so beautiful. Food in the cafe was really expensive, so I recommend eating elsewhere, but the actual experience and lagoon were definitely worth it.

Wow! What an incredible, relaxing experience. The design, decor and attention to detail in this spa is just so gorgeous- every little aspect of it is amazing. I’ve never been to any spas as special as this in the UK, and only wished we had longer than 2 hours (part of a day trip) to visit it. Was glad we did the 7 step ritual- the large sauna (there were actually 2 but we didn’t notice the one on the other side until we left that step) with the window/wall looking out to sea was so relaxing and the body scrub and steam room left my skin feeling so smooth. The infinity pool outside, with all the atmospheric lightening, hidden nooks, swim up bar and waterfall is so well thought out and the water is so nice and warm! We arrived at 5 ish so were able to see it getting dark/sun setting which was great - perfect way to unwind and rest our legs after a busy day walking outdoors. My only criticism is there were no where near enough hairdryers in the female changing room- people had to queue to avoid going back outside in the freezing cold with wet hair. Also, remember to pack your hairbrush and toiletries for after the experience as I forgot to do that!

Hi there Cat L, thank you for taking the time to share your Sky Lagoon experience! It’s wonderful to hear that the ambiance, design, and small details made such a strong impression. We’re glad you enjoyed the 7-Step Ritual—especially the sauna with its stunning sea views and the infinity pool with all its cozy nooks. Arriving around sunset sounds like the perfect timing for a truly relaxing experience!
We appreciate your feedback on the hairdryer availability in the changing rooms. We’ll take them into consideration as we work to enhance our guests’ comfort. And great reminder about packing extra toiletries; it’s something we’ll keep in mind to mention to future guests. Loved every second in the sky lagoon. Customer service was great and made you feel comfortable and welcome. We booked the Ser package which came with a private changing room and the 7 step ritual and I would highly recommend this option for a super chilled experience! We got the bus to and from Reykjavík (bus stop was about 15 minute walk) and Sky lagoon was easy enough to find. Stunning views across the sea from the lagoon. It was busy when we went at sunset as expected but there was plenty of room for everybody!

The day of our booking there was a yellow weather warning so we got an email to let us know that the lagoon was not going to be open until later that day. The only issue I had is that they didn't reply to my emails to change the booking so I had to call them to ensure that we got to go that day (we were flying home the next morning). Presumably they had a lot of calls and emails that day due to rescheduling so I didn't really mind that.
They advised that maybe the weather might reduce our enjoyment of the sky lagoon and to make sure we wore warm hats (good advice). The weather was really crazy but that somehow added to the fun of the whole experience. I would love to go back there on a calmer day because the weather really was totally wild. However Sky Lagoon itself is a beautiful place, lovely experience. It's really hard to compare it to anything but would definitely recommend this as a really unique experience, I can't imagine finding something like this anywhere else.
We opted for the Pure pass which included the 7 step ritual. It's well worth doing this if you have time, it gives you access to sauna and spa. The system with the wrist bands and lockers is great and your wristbands also pay for your drinks (linked to a bank card - all super easy). Drinks are fairly expensive but you can only have 3 per person anyway and I can't imagine a lot of people have more than 1 or 2 there anyway as you get easily dehydrated.
Re the sky pass, as far as I can tell, the only added extra here is the private changing room. The changing rooms for the other passes are absolutely fine and the showers have doors so it's fine for most people.
They booked a taxi for us to get back to the apartment after, all the staff were lovely and really helpful.
We also got a taxi to take us there, apparently it is walking distance but it was dark and stormy so we didnt want to do that. We also didnt want to be messing around looking for busses in the crazy weather so definitely recommend a taxi in this case.
Note for fitbit wearers - I have worn my fitbit in water many times with no issue but on this occasion it stopped and literally the face came off the watch. Whether it was the extreme temperature changes or the heat of the lagoon, I'm not sure, But I'd advise you to take off your watch.

I'm elderly, have arthritis, and consequently my walking isn't the steadiest, and would like to know if there are rails at the sides of the pool which I could use to give me stability?

Is there shampoo and conditioner available to use in the showers?
Written November 24, 2022
Yes the shower had shampoo/body wash and conditioner. I was on the side of the facility with individual showers though. Not sure of the group ones had it but I can’t see why they wouldn’t.

I have a waterproof plastic bag for my mobile can I take it into the lagoon so I can take photos?

Everyone was taking selfies in the lagoon. The only place it is forbidden is in the changing rooms/shower areas.

Will you pick me and drop.me off at my hotel?

When you go on the webpage of the Sky Lagoon you can buy tickets including
transport.
We took a taxi from Radisson Hotel downtown to the Sky Lagoon and payed approx. 35 Euros each way. On the way back the Sky Lagoon reception will call a taxi for you, if you ask them.
