      Our Wonderful Tour with Taka
Our guide, Taka, provided us with a fascinating tour of Asakusa with a focus on the history of the area. While the highlight of the tour was the Skytree Tower at the end of the tour, his sensitive incorporation of our praying at the Buddhist Temple and Shinto Temple were quite meaningful to us. At the end of the tour, we felt we were saying goodbye to an old friend. We strongly recommend this tour and our new friend, Taka!

      Excellent sumo tour
I attended the tour for the Osaka tournament. It was wonderful! So glad I booked this, it made my first trip to the sumo really special. I liked that it was a small tour group. Our guide Joji-san was so helpful & knowledgeable. He made sure everyone was looked after and even helped me to find the souvenirs I wanted. He also took us around the food markets in Dotonbori & a local shrine. I've been watching sumo for many years, but this tour is great whether you know a lot about sumo, or nothing at all! Would 100% recommend it. 👏

Great intro to sumo and Osaka.
I enjoyed both aspects of the tour. In addition to learning about sumo and watching some very excellent matches it was great to get an introduction to Osaka's food and culture. Yuki, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the sport and it helped that she's a genuine fan.

An Unmissable Experience to Discover Sumo!
I joined the Grand Sumo Tournament Tour with a Commentary in Tokyo organized by the Arumachi team, and it was an absolutely incredible experience! Thanks to our guide Yuki’s detailed and passionate explanations, I was able to understand not only the rules of sumo but also its history, traditions, and rituals that make this sport so fascinating. The tour was perfectly organized, from the introduction to sumo before entering the arena to the guidance throughout the matches. Yuki kept us engaged with interesting anecdotes and insights, making every moment even more exciting. Before this tour, I didn’t know much about sumo, but now I’m truly passionate about it!

      A wonderful experience with Arumachi
It is an amazing journey! As a foreigner, I didn't know much about SUMO at the beginning. I was blessed to have wonderful tour guides offered by Arumachi. The tour guides provided us details explanation before entering the hall so that I understood the competition rules and procedures. After that, they provided details of the competitors so we understood their background much more. I am blessed that Arumachi offered a wonderful expereince to us and I learnt much more about Japanese culture from this tour!

A truly unique and authentic experience
It was a truly unique and authentic experience. Even though it was my first time at a sumo match, I had no trouble following along. The guide had given us materials beforehand and kept us engaged with live commentary throughout the event. It was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed cheering for the wrestlers!

      Amazing Tour!
I had lots of fun! We visited many places related to Sumo Life in Ryogoku and thanks to our wonderful guide I got to know everything about Sumo wrestlers and their life. For the Sumo matches, the guide continued to explain about each wrestler and we were even given some towels to cheer some for some them. Recommended!

Unforgettable Sumo Experience with Aki Kotao and Arumachi Tours!
Our sumo tour with Aki Kotao and Arumachi Tours was truly one of the highlights of our trip! From start to finish, everything was incredibly well-organized, and Aki’s deep knowledge and passion for sumo made the experience even more enjoyable. We were guided through the fascinating history, rules, and traditions of sumo, which added so much depth to watching the matches live. Aki’s enthusiasm was contagious, and her ability to explain everything in an engaging and friendly way made us feel like part of the culture. The small details, like the souvenir bag and personalized touch throughout the tour, made it extra special. Watching the matches, especially cheering for Kinbozan, was unforgettable. Even though he didn’t win, we can’t wait to follow his journey in future tournaments! Thank you, Aki, for making this such a memorable experience. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Japan—it’s a must for understanding and experiencing the heart of sumo!

      My First Sumo Match
Thanks to this program, I was able to attend a sumo match and have a truly special experience. The staff were very kind and taught me about sumo. They even prepared items like fans and towels featuring the faces and names of the wrestlers, which made it feel like I was supporting my favorites, similar to fan activities (Oshikatsu). It was so much fun! Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful opportunity.

      The best experience in Tokyo
The entire tour was amazing! I got to watch an intense Sumo match with commentaries from Arumachi. The guides provided explanations about the game whenever we had questions and introduced all the wrestlers in their own unique way, complete with pictures and detailed information. I'm really grateful for this experience and hope to have the chance to join another event like this in the future.

      Good time at SUMO
It was such an interesting experience for me. I also have watched soccer and baseball in Japan but I realized that I enjoyed Sumo the most! I applied here because I think Watching SUMO in Japan might be a rare chance as an exchange student. I really enjoyed it and I felt that I was so lucky to be chosen. Thank you for this opportunity! It was so very good time for me.

      Amazing experience
很感謝Arumachi提供我們國際學生觀看相撲的機會,導覽人員十分專業和親切,即使是第一次觀看相撲比賽也能沈浸其中,會讓您愛上相撲這個日本傳統文化。 I'm very grateful to Arumachi for providing international students with the opportunity to watch sumo. The guide was very professional and friendly, and even though it was my first time watching a sumo match, I was able to fully immerse myself in the experience. It will definitely make you fall in love with sumo this traditional Japanese culture.

My wife and I spent a wonderful four hours with Taka as he revealed to us, in so much depth, the history, architecture, religious practices and local folklore of the area of Asakusa. He used his abilities to gain access to several places where tourists would normally not have been allowed. Always showing respect for the location, its past and current religious significance, he brought everything to life for us with his comments, taking us to many locations that could easily be overlooked if he had been less interested in offering us a complete experience. Both my wife and I have advanced educations and we were impressed by his knowledge such that there was no question we asked that he could not answer to our satisfaction. He managed all with skill and enthusiasm. He initially asked us about our particular interests in Japan, and in Asakusa on this occasion. Having learned of our attractions to learning details about history, architecture, matters of religious and folk practices and for music, theatre, folk art and crafts, he focused our tour on ensuring that we would be rewarded through instruction, conversation and a focus on the touring details.

We spent a very pleasant and informative afternoon touring the Asakusa area with our guide Sachi. She provided us with just the right amount of historical background and folklore, all in a conversational manner. We toured areas of the Senso-ji complex that we probably would not have seen on our own. We drew our fortune (on a small piece of paper) at the omikuji counter and received good results! We ended our tour with an excellent cup of matcha tea. Thank you Sachi!

Our guide was Yasu and he was absolutely outstanding. Not only was he very knowledgeable and personable, but he was so funny!

We went during the holiday/festival season just after New Years Day although it was an amazing experience and a very special place. It was extremely busy, but Yasu navigated us through the crowds with ease and, to be honest, the number of people really added to the atmosphere. We didn't see it as a negative at all.

Would highly recommend this tour and if you can, request Yasu!

This was a walking tour around the temple, and some other key parts of Tokyo. We met the guide at a train station stop. Fujitsu, sachiko is her name. She was the best very helpful, very knowledgeable, and it made you feel in tune with Tokyo’s pass history. The tour was about Five hours, so be sure to bring walking shoes. There was Six of us to all together which was a perfect size not too big not too small, so you felt more in tune with everybody. You get a microphone and hearing aid , so you can hear the tour guide very clearly. As you walk it around, you make a little stops and she will pick out some nice sweets and good food from the area. The temple was the best part. In my case a lot of history I love stuff I would have not known without the guide. Definitely will recommend, and the guide was the best part of the tour.

Love it, so wonderful! Sachiko was a gracious and knowledgeable guide. We learned so much. It was very interesting to hear the ancient legends and the difference between Shinto and Buddhist shines and temples. At one point it started pouring rain but Sachiko just kept going despite the rain.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Akiko provided us with a great history of the temple and shrines we visited. It was really nice to see them at night. An extra treat was dinner and music at Kazunoya Oiwake! The musicians were energetic, the music was fantastic, and the food was delicious!

We had a personalised private tour crafted by our very knowledgable guide Sachiko Fujita who showed us all the sights around the Asakusa area. In addition to explaining the history of Senso-ji temple, Nakamise st and it’s surroundings in amazing detail, she gave us insider information about the best way to enjoy the sky tree and took us to the tourist information Center for Asakusa that offered a birds-eye view of the shrine. Not only did she answer all our questions expertly, but she also bought us tasty snacks at Nakamise and helped us buy souvenirs. Thank you Sachiko-San for the lovely and unforgettable experience!

The tour was very good! We were told a lot about the story, we were able to ask a lot of questions and it was a very warm atmosphere. Keiko has taken the temperature into account all the time and looked for the best shade spots when we stopped longer to explain. The samples of the traditional desserts were very delicious and more than you could manage. Thank you very much Keiko, for this unforgettable tour.

This tour was a nice basic overview of the history of the area and the shrine and temple. We appreciated learning the proper behavior for entering and praying in each, as they are different. We learned some things about Japanese culture as well as the art and architecture of the shrine and temple. There were lots of opportunities to try delicious snacks and to shop in the neighboring market. We did wish that there was more historical information. We found it somewhat difficult to ask questions due to the language barrier, although Junko was very kind and trying very hard. I would recommend this tour for those at the beginning of their journey to Japan.
