We thoroughly enjoyed our cycling tour with Andy. He is a wonderful host who has an ability to find those unique experiences otherwise hidden in Tokyo. He seamlessly mixes points of interest with food sensations. His presentation is respectful but delivered with an adult sense of humour. Bikes are in very good condition consistent with Andy's attention to detail. I would recommend the tour to anyone interested in seeing life in Tokyo from a local's viewpoint. As a further endorsement we later returned to the restaurant area of Nakano that Andy introduced and embraced a local dining opportunity

Hi Phil, it was brilliant meeting you all on our local Tokyo bike tour together last week. Thanks again for venturing over this side of town and leaving a comment on our ride together it's greatly appreciated! Really happy to hear that you enjoy the route for the day and sampling some good Tokyo street food. Nakano is an excellent little area to explore in the afternoon and evening, I'm glad you made it back there. All the best to everyone and I hope we get to cross paths again, Andy!

Great experience bike riding in an area of Tokyo that you may not normally go to on your own. I was also able to sample different foods that I may not have tried or been aware of otherwise. The area that we toured was (for lack of better words) was more suburban and less big city (in my opinion) which I though was great! Andy was able to share a lot about the culture and had great insights. I would recommend doing this experience to anyone that enjoys riding bikes.

Be on time! I was perfectly on-time and then we waited 15 minutes for another couple that we ultimately left behind in effort to stick to the schedule. It really worked out for me because it was then just Andy and I and then we were able to cover more ground with a smaller group but felt bad for the situation of having to leave others behind.

Hi Hunter, Great to hear from you and thanks once again for taking the time to leave a comment on our ride together the other week! Happy to hear that you enjoyed getting off the beaten path a little and exploring some unique parts of town you might have otherwise missed. Thanks for noting for future guests that this experience does depart on time! For the enjoyment of everyone in the group, guests are strongly advised to arrive at our starting point 30 minutes prior to departure. I hope you enjoyed the second leg of the holiday and be sure to say hello if you're ever back in town, Andy!

We were a group of 9 ( 4 adults and 5 children aged 14-17 years old). We all thoroughly enjoyed the bike tour. It was the best way to see some of the local sights of Tokyo and really get a small glimpse into the local culture. It was actually the highlight of our 2 week trip in Toyko. I would recommend this tour to everyone.

It was a really nice on a 2.5 hr bike ride with Andy, to see how the locals live and eat. He took us into streets and alleys that we would have never known ourselves, nor venture, explained certain quirks of the Japanese and their lifestyles. And Andy always made sure we were ok with the pace, checked in if anyone needs a bathroom break, etc.

Highly recommend to everyone, even if you think you are seasoned traveller!

We had such a fantastic day exploring the parts of Tokyo we never would’ve seen if it wasn’t for Andy. He was a great tour guide, sharing lots of interesting information about the area we were in and the Japanese culture. He also bought us lunch at a delicious authentic Japanese restaurant which was very special. I can’t recommend this tour enough!!

Our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 teenagers) all really enjoyed our afternoon tour with Andy!! He was super friendly and welcoming, and did a great job of managing our larger group!! The riding was mostly flat but you definitely need to be able to ride a bike to navigate the frequent stopping, people and small lanes you ride through. The food stops were great, there was 3 snacks and a small meal and we tried things we otherwise wouldn’t have tried and loved it all. Highly recommend this tour if you want to get out of the busy tourist spots and see some how the locals live!!

We had only 5 days in Tokyo and this was the best thing we did on our visit. Such a wonderful way to see the back streets of Tokyo and get a feel for how people actually live in the city.

The bikes were very comfortable and the cycling was easy and flat, and not taxing at all, so no need to be worried if you are not fit, or an experienced cyclist - you don't have to be!

Andy was an excellent guide, loves Japan, and has a good idea of what is interesting to foreigners like us. We loved riding around the quiet residential neighbourhoods and interesting local shopping areas which you wouldn't know were there if someone didn't show you. Just a few minutes ride from a major railway station and you find yourself meandering quiet tree lined alleys and lanes, so peaceful and far removed from the frenetic pace of places like Shinjuku and Shibuya.

We enjoyed stopping at interesting places for food and snacks, and especially loved the 'standing' noodle bar which was a great place for lunch.

If you are in Tokyo, you must do this tour, you won't be disappointed!

Thoroughly enjoyed Andy’s tour of his local neighbourhood in West Tokyo and learned so much about what it’s like to raise a family there. The tour was a great mix of cycling along back streets and laneways, and some walking. Groups are limited in size - we had 5 people. Streets were narrow and crowded, which made for a great atmosphere - but don’t go if you’re not comfortable on a bike!

This was a really fantastic Tokyo experience! Myself, my wife and our three boys (13, 12 & 11) had a great day with Andy, cycling around the west side of Tokyo. Andy was very knowledgeable, helpful, safety conscious (great when you have kids) and very engaging. He lead us on an exciting bike ride through the back streets of Tokyo and we feasted on some delicious, local Japanese snacks and lunch on route. Our whole family couldn’t wipe the smiles off our faces at the end! Thanks Andy for a very memorable day!

The cycling tour was a great experience. Andy was friendly and informative and the tour took us around the back streets giving insight into Japanese life that we would not have gained from anyone but a local. I particularly respected the way he was very sensitive to the locals, ensuring we were not intrusive. Our group agreed that the noodles we had for lunch were the best we have ever eaten. I haven’t ridden a bike for 15 years but managed easily and felt safe at all times!!!
