Paul Martin is an amazing instructor. Three members of our family have second degree or higher black belts in Tae Kwon Do and are very interested in incorporating weapons into their routines. We thought this class would be the basic handling of the katana. We were wrong and very happy to be so.

Mr. Martin taught us about the history of the tachi and the katana. He taught the proper techniques to honor the katana and at the end of the one-hour class, each of us were given the opportunity to hold two katanas (not at the same time) and he corrected our forms.

Highly recommend this class which was given in English. We were lucky to be able to take it since it is only offered a few times a month.

Bonus: class price includes admission to the museum and a guided tour in English (not by Mr. Martin, but by knowledgable guides).
