Great experience.

Akiko looked after us from the moment we met at the train station. Her knowledge of cooking and ingredients was extensive and happily shared. I would certainly recommend the experience. One of the highlights of our trip.

Fantastic & intimate food experience !!
Feb 2020 • Couples
For anyone who wants an amazing food experience I highly recommend Akiko and the Masubi Japanese cooking class.
Our host Akiko was so incredibly warm, friendly and knowledgeable and welcomed my partner and I into her lovely home after meeting us at the train station near her place. She not only the recipes to 3-4 Japanese dishes (main and side dishes and miso soup!) but also it’s history.
It is a very intimate experience with no more than 6 people for a session.
Because there is so few of us we also had the opportunity to ask general questions about life in Tokyo and had a glimpse at the life of suburban living in such a huge city. (We were lucky to just have the two of us to herself!!)
And the best part of it all is that you get a huge delicious home cooked Japanese meal 😋

Thanks Akiko!! Will be recommending you to all food lovers

Authentic Home Cooking Experience
Oct 2019
My husband and I spent a wonderful time with Akiko in her lovely home learning and preparing homely Japanese food. Before our arrival we discussed via email what dishes we would like to cook and any dietary/dislikes requirements. We decided on okonomiyaki, tempura, chicken nanban, cabbage salad and miso soup...what a feast! Akiko spoke excellent English and was so welcoming and helpful in answering our myriad of question on all sorts of topics. We learnt about the various ingredients used and the techniques necessary to prepare the dishes....Akiko kindly took photos for us as well. A great experience thoughly recommended!

Jun 2019 • Family
Akiko (the host) was awesome! She allowed us into her very nicely decorated Tokyo home and went over tons of information/historical details about the ingredients we were about to use. The food was pretty and delicious and my family and I had a great time cooking with her.

Great fun and delicious food
We had a great time cooking with Yuki. We would definitely recommend this half day activity to gain some deeper appreciation of the Japanese cuisine. Yuki is a highly international experienced person, speaks fluent English and above all is great company. We could even choose what we wanted to cook. Turns out Japanese cooking isn't that difficult as long as you know what you're doing. The food was delicious and having received the recipes (and some pictures of the day) we will definitely enjoy Japanese cooking more often back home.

Amazing day with Akiko!
Feb 2019 • Friends
Had the best time this morning doing a cooking class with Akiko. She met us at the train station and then walked us to her home. The apartment was beautiful and Akiko could not have been more welcoming! We made Gyoza, salmon with avocado, cabbage salad with sesame oil, eggplant & miso soup. It was a great day and I would highly recommend the cooking school and especially Akiko!!!

My husband and I took a wonderful cooking class with Yuki. She is such a wonderfully patient instructor and so knowledgeable! We really felt so at home with her and she made every attempt to make us comfortable. We had a private class and will always remember her class as being a highlight of our trip. Best wishes to you and your family Yuki! Hopefully we will come back to Japan to make another superb meal with you!
