Go on this ride! You won’t regret it!

This is by far the best thing I’ve done in Tokyo! Gaku is an incredibly friendly guide who has lived in Tokyo his whole life and is a wealth of knowledge about the city and its sights. He is also very good about making sure you have enough water have restroom opportunities and aren't getting too tired. Shrines, parks, the Imperial Palace, observation decks, lunch by the harbor and other stops along the way; all made this an unforgettable experience and well worth the cost. This also a great way to find areas you may want to visit at greater length on another day! I’d give it 6 stars if I could!

A brilliant way to see Tokyo
Jul 2021
Absolutely brilliant! I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Gaku was friendly right from the start and we travelled around the sights leaving as much time as I felt I needed to take photos, ask questions (and I did ask a lot!) and take in the sights of Tokyo before moving onto the next stop. Stay close to Gaku on the bike and you will be fine, he is very clear with instructions and on the parts of the tour we did use the road I found Tokyo traffic quiet compared to other major cities. This is the perfect way to see the city, in the fresh air and you get to see a lot of the major sights. I can't think of a better way to have spent 6 hours in Tokyo. Thank you Gaku.

Great introduction to Tokyo
Mar 2020
First full day in Tokyo, indeed Japan and what a great way to start. Gaku the guide firstly made sure both the bike and helmet were a good fit before the tour, was very informative during the tour, and also provided clear directional instructions whilst cycling.

Definitely recommend the tour as an ideal way of exploring Tokyo. both sights and the quiet backstreets. It will not disappoint.

Great chance to explore Tokyo
Mar 2020 • Solo
If you want a great way to explore one end of Tokyo to the other, I would recommend this.

Gaku to us on an engaging 6 hour cycle ride across the streets of Tokyo and allowed us to explore many landmarks and key areas.

The cycle itself is super easy. Tokyo is pretty much flat so I was never feeling tired or exhausted. We would often stop at key points so it wasn’t nonstop cycling.

Gaku was a great tour guide. As a local citizen, his knowledge of Tokyo and the Japanese people was great. At each stop he was able to provide a brief history and key points worth knowing. At the same time he was able to answer the many questions I had.

Would highly recommend to all visitors

The Best Way to See Tokyo!
Jul 2019
My family had a fantastic day with Gaku in July 2019. Gaku is highly knowledgeable about Tokyo and the perfect guide for a trip around the city. We were amazed at how much ground we covered and how many sights we saw in just one day. Having a local guide made it that much better. We were able to get a taste of off-the-beaten-path Tokyo in addition to the major tourist destinations. We never felt unsafe, even on some of Tokyo's busiest streets. My family returns to this day as a highlight of our three weeks in Japan, and we are so grateful to have had this experience. We highly recommend this fantastic tour!

A Must In Tokyo
Mar 2020 • Couples
Wow! Wow! Wow! I don’t know where to start. This is the perfect introduction to Tokyo. We can’t stop talking about what an amazing experience this was! From the detailed map to the meeting point to the sights and the wealth of knowledge Gaku provided, I can say this was one of the best/most fun tours I’ve been on. If you are visiting Tokyo for the first time please consider booking this tour. Gaku went above and beyond showing us a few sights not on the itinerary as well as surprising me with a piece of cake for my birthday!! If I could give this tour 10 stars I would! Book it now! You won’t regret it.

Amazing cycling experience in Tokyo
Mar 2020 • Solo
I had a great time cycling the streets of Tokyo. Gaku is a wonderful guide and he takes you cycling the busy streets of Tokyo but you will feel safe. And he takes your photos too which I didn’t expect at all. They were great street photos. Recommended experience!

Another great way to experience Tokyo. Highly recommended!
Feb 2020
If you are the type of person interested in taking in the sights and sounds of a new city, biking with Gaku is one of the best ways. Nothing beats cycling around one of the busiest cities in the world and experiencing the back lanes, quiet residential areas, major roadways and covering major tourist attractions across the city. Gaku is accommodative and certainly looks out for you while you are on the road. As a tip, you need to be comfortable cycling on busy roads.

Great Way to see Tokyo
Feb 2020
Great way to see the a lot of Tokyo in a short period of time!!! Gaku and I had a full day seeing many sights of Tokyo. I myself ride bikes for fun around my home city so this was perfect for me. I could see that if it's been years since you were on a bike, it probably isn't for you.
Gaku, a native of Japan, is very knowledgeable of the culture as well as religion and takes the time to share all of his knowledge with you. If you're concerned about communication, I would say that he is fluent in English which helped when answering my many questions!
As a bonus, Gaku took pictures of me along the way and emailed them that evening.
This was one of the highlights of my time in Tokyo - as well as a great use of a day! I would highly recommend if you enjoy riding bikes!

Excellent Tour - Highly Recommend
Our first visit to Tokyo and we only had 2 days, so I wanted to make sure I booked the best tour to explore. After much researching, I chose Gaku’s Tokyo Bicycle Tours. Yes, all the reviews are correct, it was the best decision I made! The meeting place was easy to find and after 5 minutes easy riding, we found ourselves at a most quaint, soulful shrine, which we would have never discovered without Gaku.

Riding through quiet residential areas, parks, and through busy districts we felt confident following along. In fact, I felt more secure on the road than on the footpath. We appreciated Gaku’s commentary, explaining the difference between a Shine and a Temple, the history of the Imperial Palace and Tokyo generally. Loved our lunchtime shopping at the local market and eating at the wharf. It was an exhilarating ride to return through Shinjuku’s main strip to the Metropolitan Building and the view from up top astounded us. It put into perspective how far 32 kilometres looked, as we certainly did not feel like we had ridden such a long way. The bikes were in good condition and easy to ride, plus it helps that Tokyo is so flat.

Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is comfortable on a bike – for us the distance was not an issue, and we are only weekend local riders. You ride for a few minutes, then stop and walk about, have a drink, rest, and then you are off to the next stop. With so much to see time and distance flies by.

Thanks, Gaku for such a memorable day and we really appreciated the photos you took of us.
