About
Tea Ceremony is one of the arts that every trainee geisha must study in order to learn about Japanese culture, aesthetics, and manners. This gives you the chance to watch young geisha practicing their tea ceremony skills with you as the guests. The geisha speak English and can explain the history and principles behind tea ceremony. Being able to speak English is a very rare skill for legitimate, traditional geishas as you will be able to ask questions of them directly. The ceremony includes tea, and traditional Japanese sweets. !!!NORMAL TIME IS 2PM BUT ONLY ON THURS BETWEEN 9/26 AND END DECEMBER TIME WILL BE 5PM!!! If you would like they may do a dance for you as well!

A TRULY PRICELESS EXPERIENCE!!
Sep 2019
We just attended Sayuki's tea ceremony and it was amazing!! Sayuki is very attentive, well versed and hospitable. The ceremony was absolutely elegant and zen throughout. Such a unique opportunity to experience a 400 year old tradition firsthand! We loved watching preparation of the delicious special tea and the desert. Thank you so much for such a memorable experience! We really want to explore Sayuki's other activities next time we visit again...

A unique and intimate insight into the way of the geisha.
Jul 2019 • Solo
We enjoyed a beautiful traditional tea ceremony in a traditional house in the heart of the Fukagawa district with Sayuki and a young geisha. It was a very peaceful and meditative experience and Sayuki was able to answer all of our questions that we had about geisha with ease. It really was a unique insight into traditional Japanese culture which I think is rare to find as a tourist.

I would highly recommend giving this a go, especially when the weather is best enjoyed indoors!

Lovely and peaceful experience
Mar 2019
All the geishas were very friendly and knowledgeable. It was amazing talking with them about their profession as well as Japan in general. They're enthusiastic to meet you and they teach you a lot about tea ceremonies. They don't make you do all the minuscule movements that's usually required in a formal tea ceremony but they will teach you about them if you ask. The entire experience was very peaceful and I saw sakura flowers outside their windows. Their English was very good with very few lapses in vocabulary.

I highly, highly recommend this experience. It's worth the time and money!
