- Windchill-410 contributionsMake Bitter ChoicesWhy is this listed as Things to Do in Chieri? We booked the PRIVILEGE TOUR, caught the 9:49 train Torino Porta Susa - Pessione, takes about 26 minutes and was 3,60euro. We had a bit of a wait once we arrived, checked out the bar and bakery down the road. The gift shop had a lot of expensive items and glass ware and bottles, nothing that a tourist flying with only carry-on could buy. Our tour was in Italian, it starts with a museum of artifacts from centuries of wine making through to current times. We continued through the production plant to a couple of spots (nothing was operating on the Saturday) and then back for samples. We had a little time before the 13:43 return trip, fortunately there is a cocktail bar after the sample room. The bar (Bar Osteria da Piera) across from the train station sells train tickets if you didn't buy the return. We were already fans of Martini & Rossi Rosso Vermouth and generally any beverage like Chinotto, Cinzano, Borsci San Marzano.Written May 7, 2024
- jamesmarsden20230 contributionsGreat Visit!!We arrived at Pessione station - Casa Martini was just across the road! It was a little deserted, but the staff were very friendly. We had an hour to tour the museum ourselves, which was just right and we learned a lot. After the hour, we got a lovely tour of the distillery from Andrea. As it was just the two of us, he made us feel very welcome and clearly had lots of passion for the company and its products. The tasting was brilliant and he was very informative and the cocktail at the end was well worth the extra fee! A real highlight of our few days in Turin. If you like Martini/vermouth/aperativo then do it!!Written April 5, 2024
- 243paulmc0 contributionsThe True Home of Martini - but slow it down please to be excellent. The True Home of Martini (& Rossi: the producers of many drinks you may not know). The staff are very professional, friendly, informative. The place is beautifully laid out - Italian design, just enough information and exhibits, a nice cocktail bar, other experiences available - mix your own bottle VERMOUTH CLASS 35€, etc. But... don't expect a big warm Italian MARTINI welcome - an emotional experience. Our discovery tour of the very quiet historic area of the factory and tasting were rushed. We travelled far to be there, and it didn't feel personal at all. The hurried explanations of the history, products and processes in English + Italian (a mixed group) meant our guide had no time for us, rush, rush, rush. The Cocktail barman, was the same - speedily cleaning the tables and preparing for the next tour group tasting (the tasting three types of product was very nice but rushed). People are not machines, you can’t just speed them up with stressing them. Dear MARTINI, Give your staff more time to be personable, to give us that warm Italy welcome we all love. They were so squeezed for time during our visit, that their stress rubbed off on us - we needed a drink at the end of the tour to calm down. Slow it down - your visitors time to relax, talk with your wonderful guides, staff and bar tenders - a real Italian Martini experience. It felt like I was on a production line: the next group is arriving, faster, faster!!! A big thank you too!!! As it was my in-laws 50 wedding anniversary, Martini gave them a very decorative classic Martini calendar, timeless rotating dates, a nice gift. It was a very nice touch and very appreciated!!! Love from your adoring Lyon and Vichy fans.Written April 21, 2023
- prakashY1517BG0 contributionsGreat ambiance and serviceWas always excited to visit the birthplace of Martini. Went by chance for a friend's birthday party recently. Although it was a private event, food was great, drinks (cocktails) were sublime, service impeccable and the ambiance...words won't do it justice. Chieri isn't really the most visited area in this part of Italy, but if you do happen to be in Torino, a stopover here is a must, especially if you're a Martini & Rossi fan.Written February 8, 2023
- NaomiM270 contributionsAwesome experienceWe did the discovery tour and it was really nice. The museum is interesting and during the tour the information in the museum really comes to live. We had a very knowledgeable and friendly guide during the tour and tasting. Overall it was a very nice experience.Written July 2, 2022
- rlk20130 contributionsWonderful day outI cannot praise this experience enough; thank you Martina, Matilde and Nino for making the day for us. The tour started with a walk around the museum followed by the discovery tour and rounded off with the tasting and good pairing. The tasting was an eye opener and I’m now a convert to Martini. From Turin catch the train from Porta Susa to Pessione (it cost €3.20 each way) and Casa Martini is right across the street. Fantastic day, thanks to all the staffWritten June 9, 2022
- pidizu0 contributionsKind blowing experienceThe welcoming approach impressed the 2 of us...the richness in remains from the past such as old giblets, gasks and wine pressed exquisitely preserved over time. The tasting of 3 different martini drinks and the final cocktail exceeded our expectations and made our day! Highly recommendedWritten August 13, 2021
- Fionacko0 contributionsGreat 1/2 hour experienceSaw this from a unusual things to do in Turin website and I’m glad I did..I believe that they have recently changed their tour. The entry signs could be better I ended up in their offices initially but was re directed to the museum. The museum reception was very good, a brief explanation of the tour we had booked where to go etc.... However we did not enter the self guided tour in the incorrect place, so it would have been great if they had pointed out that the start of the tour was via wooden doors near the terrace. The self guided tour was good especially when it was in cinque with the audio guide.Loved the tour with the guide who was very knowledgeable, more access to the production areas would have been great. Would have liked to have had a bar/cafe nothing at all was very disappointing.I realised that they are also selling their tours with taster/cocktail classes so it would be a conflict of interest I suppose. The tasters were great by the way. Do try their tours.Written October 2, 2020
- RoyalBelgium0 contributionsImpressive and interesting tourAs fans of the Martini brand, we had to visit the the Holy Seat of our beloved drinks. We understood that the tour had just been renovated, which now also includes a look behind the scenes of the factory. The first part of the tour is a well worked out museum which tells you the history of the Martini brand, how the products are made, its car history and even gives you the opportunity to ask a digital bartender for recipes. The second part was a great initiation in the behind the scenes of the factory where the production of the whole global market (except for part of South America) still takes place. As cherry on top, you’ll end with a tasting of different Martini products and end your journey with a cocktail in a beautifully designed bar. This has been the perfect ending of our Italy trip and will surely remain one of the highlights.Written September 10, 2020
- Danwild820 contributionsAmazing experience through Martini wordIt was an amazing experience. I’ve visited Martini museum some year ago, but it is totally renewed now. The tour starts with an audio-guided section through Martini world, very interactive! Then you jump on an electric bus to visit the productive plant, to discover where the magic comes from. At the end of tour there’s a guided tasting section of 3 products and finally a refreshing Martini Fiero and tonic cocktail.Written September 4, 2020
- Eric G0 contributionsNo Crowds, Learn, Enjoy the TasteIf you are looking for no crowds, an opportunity to learn bout wines, see an incredible museum on a self-guided tour and THEN taste some of Martini & Rossi's delicious offerings within a short train ride from Torino - this is what you are looking for. The location is literally across the street from the train stop so no need to drive.Written July 31, 2019
- Eric G0 contributionsCasa Martini - hidden jewelIf you are in the Piedmont region and can hop a train from Torino a hidden, fun, interesting, jewel is the audio guided experience at Casa Martini. My wife and I like to explore, go for things we didn't plan on doing but yet enjoy the experience, learn a little, drink a little. This self-guided tour is perfect. Get off the train from Torino and you are right across the street from Martini's wonderful facility. The history of wine making is the equivalent of any art or sports museum. No crowds, go at your own pace and you can catch the train back in time for dinner in Torino. Not only will you learn a bit of history but also about the paparazzi (sp?) that helped establish the image of Martini & Rossi. You might even see an advertising extravaganza included the recent George Clooney ads. Really a varied experience. HIGHLY recommend.Written July 23, 2019
- Jetrotteleglobe0 contributionsVery instructive visitI went to the Casa Martini mostly because I wanted to purchase their exclusive bottle Gran Lusso which is only available at their museum shop. But I took the time to visit the museum and was greatly surprised. The museum is divided in two parts. One exhibition on wine history in general and one dedicated to Martini itself. I found both exhibition very instructive. The visit is short and the audio guide appropriate. All personnel was very nice. At the end of the visit you get to taste 2 of their products. They display some of the martini advertisement products in the shop. I really enjoyed my visit their and got my Gran Lusso bottle so I had a great time.Written March 15, 2019
- Reloncher0 contributionsGreat experience!Martini plant is a true jewel of the area! A must visit if you are around. Very friendly staff, incredible attitude and hospitality. The plant itself is a historic building that was created in 1863 by Martini and Rossi families and since then the factory is producing world's most known vermouth, sparkling and many other alcoholic beverages. The area of the factory is very pleasant especially when the weather is good. The tour has two parts - historic and production. First you visit the museum of wine where you could see ancient and medieval objects that were used in the wine industry. From pots and glasses to grape sqeezing huge machines. Then there is Martini hall of fame - various diplomas, medals, documents and photos. The exhibition is very well organized and extremely interesting to learn how the brand developed. Unbelievable to see how modern were the approaches of the family 100 years ago. From Andy Warhol to George Clooney - all are there)) Then was a part of the excursion related to production. Astonishing to see how vermouth and sparkling wines are produced. From the very beginning how ingredients are prepared to bottling and packaging. Robots everywhere including transportation where laser guided vehicles drive goods by themselves! And the finish inside the historic Martini terrace to see what kind of drinks Martini was producing. Vodka, whisky, cognac - anything under the brand of Martini. Some souvenirs in the end and great memories from the visit! Definately 5 stars!! Great experienceWritten February 6, 2019

It has been very interesting visiting the museum and having a cocktail experience with professionals of the martini museum where we tasted several alcoholics drinks.
