About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 346thaisw0 contributionsmistery and history. unique place. no Moais anywhere.very special place, very far - 5hours flight form santiago de chile, quite expensive. the island itself is not that beautiful. but the Moais, the archeology, the history, the mistery, the fresh tuna and shrimps are really special. 3 nights are more than enough. you take 1 full day tour. the next day the hanu raku and Orongo tour takes around 4-5 hours. and then the sun rise at the ahu tangarik. and you are almost done.Written January 14, 2025
- Rashers550 contributionsHighly RecommendWe did the one-day Express tour with Easter Island Travel. They were incredibly communicative in the lead up to the tour. Yeni was our tour guide and she was fantastic - she had so much knowledge and a passion for sharing the history of the Rapa Nui people. We really got a sense of the local culture, both past and present.Written January 6, 2025
- P826JVannem0 contributionsWhat a perfekt dayWe had a fantastic time in this trip with our lovely guide Etienne. We really enjoyed the tour and we have seen so many of this wonderful Island.Written December 15, 2024
- Sitta0 contributionsGood and helpful toru company!Alberto arranged four different tours for us during our visist to Ester Island. All were very good, as were the tour guides. There is lots to see on Rapa Nui, but we got to see alot thanks to Alberto and his team. We also apprecited his flexibility, as we had to change some of our plans.Written December 14, 2024
- 732adim0 contributionsMake the trip!Well worth the 5 hour flight from Santiago! Very cool Pacific island vibe - without huge commercial / hotel developments. And, of course the Moai are totally breathtaking - arguably on par with the pyramids and tombs of Egypt. Small island, so easy to get around and see everything they have to offer. Plan for maybe 3 full days. Must see!Written December 6, 2024
- alexmP4235DG0 contributionsGreat tour of west & north sides of Rapa NuiTook their tour of the west and north sides of the island and wasn't disappointed - brilliant guide (Zoe) and the itinerary was thorough, well-paced and had a good logical flow to it. - Connector468262919920 contributionsAmazingAnyone heading to Rapa Nui, I highly recommend booking with Easter Island Travel for your excursions. They were so friendly, helpful, and educational. My husband and I did a full day private tour and a 1/2 day horse/cave tour. Both where amazing.Written April 22, 2024
- 482williamt0 contributionsExcellent Five Day Private Tour of Rapa NuiJoaquin was our excellent guide for three couples touring the major Rapa Nui sights over five days. Marcus was excellent in helping to plan the specific things we wanted to see during our stay and was welcoming, helpful and flexible with the arrangements. Make sure to check out his excellent T shirts at Rapa Music for an excellent souvenir. In terms of the highlights of the trip I cannot recommend Joaquin highly enough, he is kind, funny and has a great knowledge of the island's history. Everyone has different sightseeing highlight from a trip but for me the Moai quarry is amazing and I really enjoyed the exploration of the caves and paths used to transport the Moai to name a couple. The prices for this tour were also very competitive, which we appreciated.Written April 4, 2024
- Synnebollen0 contributionsThe best way to start your stay!We were so glad that we started our Rapa Nui stay with an Easter Island Travel tour. The day after we arrived, we had booked a full day private tour (B: Megaliths) to get a proper introduction to the Moai. What we saw was spectacular, and what we learned made our following days on the island even better, because we already had some insight when we did other activities and saw other sights later on. Our guide was a very knowledgeable and fun guy, and we spent a truly great day in his company. Highly recommended!Written April 3, 2024
- WendyS9790 contributionsGreat Day Trip, Loved Every MinuteWe spent the best day with Joaquin on a private tour, Journey of Legends, to a number of different sites. He turned up exactly on time for the Sunrise tour at Ahu Tongariki. He gave us as much time as we needed at each site, explaining in great detail the history and significance of the Moai. It was completely fascinating, we loved every minute! His English was perfect and he had a great sense of humour, which made the day even more fun. Highly recommend this company, communication was great, can’t fault them., they made our trip.Written March 20, 2024

- rosemaryjose0 contributionsMagnificent islandAndres was a great guide. He was very well informed and had a wealth of knowledge to impart. We visited all the major highlights and afterwards I got to visit plenty of restaurants and artesanal markets on my three day visit to Rapa Nui. He was very accommodating in where he picked me up and dropped me off on both days for the two day private tour. He even gave me plenty of recommendations on restaurants and what to do outside of the tour times.Written February 5, 2024
- ecowan560 contributionsWe toured all the highlights of the island, attended a dinner dance and ate at The Polynesian Restaurant. We stayed at Hector’s AirB&B for 8 days. He recommended a tour guide and we toured for 1 1/2 days. Then we just walked. And walked around the island.Written January 30, 2024

An amazing experience! Easter Island Travel provided a great 2 day tour of the sites on the island that was informational inspirational, and fun! Not to mention the magical mystery of the beautiful island itself. Marcus was very helpful with coordinating itinerary and Angelo, my guide, through his depth of knowledge on Rapa Nui history and culture, conducted my solo private tour in a way that brought these breathtaking ancient sites to life right before my eyes. Well done, Marcus, Angelo, and all the folks at Easter Island Travel for an experience I will cherish forever!

Excellent, well organised, good value (compared to cruise ship offerings) small group tour taking in all the major sites over a day and a half with a very knowledgeable guide (Andres). Sending the names and cabin numbers of the other members of the group is an excellent idea allowing us to meet and go ashore together (only let down in our case by the one group member who did not share their cabin number). Highly recommended for people visiting from a cruise.

An excellent tour with Andreas. We covered all the major sites as promised and the weather was kind to us which was a bonus. We had a comfortable vehicle for our group of 8. The company was professional throughout the booking process and the tour was much cheaper than those offered by the cruise line and much more personal.

Yoyo Tuki was by far the best and only guide I would want to do this 2 tour with. Worth every penny to have his knowledge and expertise take you on a well thought out journey through the amazing island of Rapa Nui. At every stop his not only shows you breathtaking sights but the history behind it and the context of the sight as it shaped the incredible culture of the island over centuries. I’m very fortunate to have been paired with Yoyo Tuki for this amazing experience. The photos and stories I shared with friends made them all want to come. It’s one of the best tours anywhere I’ve done.

Like many travelers on the island, I only had a few days to see everything and thought this 2-day tour would allow me to see the most the island had to offer, and I was not wrong. Andres, my tour guide, is a Rapa Nui native and has a WEALTH of knowledge and information to share about Rapa Nui and the ahu and moai we saw. His love of the island was evident and he shared so much with us that I felt like I was with a University professor. Learning about the innovation of this ancient culture from a direct descendent was pretty phenomenal and we covered a lot of ground in those two days. Every tour included lunch at the owner's beautiful farm and it was delicious, prepared by a chef in advance. On the second day, we were even treated to a live performance by Alicia Ika, his wife, which was a real treat. I cannot thank Andres enough for all he shared with us as he guided us around the island. The tours are kept small, and my bus wasn't even full one of the days, so you really get curated attention no matter what the group size is. Highly recommend combining Tours A/B by doing the 2-day tour if you're looking for a great way to experience the island through a native/local lens.

We checked out out the reviews on trip advisor and chose this company because of what was said. Unfortunately our experience was good and bad. The good was the amazing tour guide we had, Simon. He was Rapa Nui and brought his knowledge of his people to the entire tour. The Bad was we were told the tour ran from 9am-4pm. we didn't get pickup up until almost 10am the first day. WE didn't return until almost 6. We are good with facts. If you tell us you are going to be picked up between 9 and 10am, mostly later for you as your hotel is out of town, that would have been great, but we weren't told. The second day of our tour, we were totally forgotten. Angela from our hotel called to find out why we had not gotten picked up. Finally one of Easter Island Travel consultants came in a dirty cab. We tried to chase down the van tour we were supposed to be part of. We passed two of the stops we wanted to see. By the time we caught up with our group, they had already been through the third stop. My husband and I decided to get out and look at it ourselves as we were not going to miss a third stop. Simon graciously came out and gave us the information for where we were. On the way home we stopped by the two stops that were missed on the way out. There again, things need to be a little tighter.
Lunch both days was at the owners house, where they sang in Rapa Nui to entertain us. The food was marginal, probably would have been more economical not to pay for the lunch but just the two day tour however, not sure if that option is available. That being said, each sight on the island is a treasure and having Simon give his perspective from his family history was worth all the problems we encountered. When we went to lunch the second day, no-one said anything to us about how sorry they were that we had been overlooked for the second day tour. At the end of the day, we were offered a complimentary tour fo the sunrise at Tongariki. It was the day we were leaving, but we didn't mind getting up early to see it. There were so many people at the sight it was unbelievable. Unfortunately the sunrise we less than spectacular as it had been mostly cloudy the entire week we were there. But at least we could experience this. Still would recommend as you need the perspective of the Rapa Nui to understand the impact these Moai have had on the island and how Tourism is changing the face of Easter Island.

My family of 4 did a customized 2 and 1/2 day tour of Easter Island with Easter Island Travel. Our tour was very well organized and had an extremely knowledgeable/flexible/punctual/courteous local guide/driver that made our trip on the island extremely memorable. We were provided with food bags from time to time, which was a big pleasant surprise. We were also hosted for lunch on 2 days in the premises of the travel agency’s owner’s home with true Rapa Nui hospitality, which was the greatest surprise. I would certainly very highly recommend Easter Island Travel to any traveler visiting the island for any kind of itinerary.

It’s Impossible to tour Easter Island/Rapa Nui in a single day. There is just too much to take in. So, hiring a guide is highly recommend – especially if, like us, this is your first trip to this magical Island. And the BEST guide is Joaquin Soler! Joaquin is a native of Rapa Nui and just has to be the most knowledgeable and passionate advocate. He needs to be the face of Rapa Nui tourism. He is an archaeologist & historian who shares so much about the Island’s history, culture and people. And he has very strong mana – ask him when you see him. This is the most memorable adventure we have ever had. Thank you, Joaquin!!

Extremely professional.
Of the hundreds of tours I've taken, this was the best at a distance.
Supreme sense of catering to his clients' desires, Marcus deserves to become the most successful tour operator in the Pacific.

Had a great time on Easter Island with this tour company. Eight people. Max in our tour, very knowledgeable guide and comfortable minibus. Our guide met us at the dock, as expected and all went well. Communication in advance of the tour was good and we were given the guide’s cell number which proved very handy when I forgot my camera on the bus. Would highly recommend. 5 stars ⭐️

I’m not certain, I know they alternate days. Their email is info@easterisland.travel. They were very good at communicating, as we wanted to book Christmas Day and wondered if they would. They did! I would certainly recommend them.
