The Best Authentic Travel Experience I've Ever Had
Without doubt, the Flamenco Dancing, History & Music course has been the best authentic travel and dancing experience I've ever had (and I've been dancing and travelling for many years!). Everything was unbelievable - it's hard to know how to begin describing the experience. I'll start with the stunning town of Moclin - what an absolute gem hidden high up the mountain. The tiny village has the most incredible views and is steeped with history, with the Moclin castle ruins serving as a backdrop to the accommodation where the course was held. How can one not be inspired by such surroundings? The course content, teachers and lessons far exceeded my expectations - it was a truly immersive experience. Jacob and Natalie were both very knowledgeable, passionate and true Flamenco masters. They helped me to understand that Flamenco is so much more than just how the steps are danced. On this course, I learnt about WHY it is danced, from authentic Flamenco tutors - an experience I feel is invaluable. Ian and Andrew (and Alfie the dog #selfiewithalfie) are the reason this experience is so fantastic. I cannot express how grateful I am to have had them as our hosts. From the utterly delicious food they made, to the unique and interesting tours they took us on, to the fabulous conversations around the lunch and dinner table, they are the consummate hosts. They clearly have a love for what they do, as well as for Moclin, and it shows in every detail of the course. Thank you Ian and Andrew for giving me this experience - I will never forget it and this will always be a very special memory for me. I'll see you again next year

Once in a lifetime experience - Flamenco Dance Course
The Flamenco Dance Course was truly a once in a lifetime experience! Not only did we learn to dance flamenco but we learnt the amazing history behind it and behind Moclín and Granada. This course wasn’t just about the flamenco dancing , we got to experience the incredible tours of the castles and the village. At the end of the week we had the privilege to perform Flamenco for the village of Moclín and of course had an absolute fiesta afterwards - throughout the week we got to sing with Jacob which was out of my comfort zone but he made us feel like we were the best singers in the world and got us all out of our comfort zones 😂 i don’t regret a thing! Performing with Jacob at the end of the week was an honour! Our dance instructor Natalie has some incredible experience and being taught flamenco by her was an honour. The food cooked by Andrew and Ian was out of this world amazing! Andrew , Ian and Natalie not only felt like our hosts/teacher but like our friends - and of course little Alfie🐶 They truly made this experience one to remember and i hope to come back again to attend another one of their many amazing courses!

A Taste of Spanish Country Living
We wanted a holiday inland from the Costas, and Moclin village and surrounding area was idyllic, such a beautiful location, with olive groves as far as the eye could see, stunning. The mosaic course run by Katy Galbraith was excellent and as complete novices we thoroughly enjoyed it. Andrew and Ian are incredible hosts, so hospitable, they just could not have done more . The food was delicious, colourful and beautifully presented.

A superb fun week of creativity with delicious food, in beautiful surroundings and with wonderful hosts!
Thank you for such an incredibly amazing week in Mochlin. I wish it could have lasted much much longer! Our wonderful mosaic tutor, Linda Rinke gave us excellent step-by-step teaching. She was very encouraging, extremely helpful and patient and everyone in the group produced a mosaic that they were pleased with. Nothing was too much trouble. Our hosts Ian and Andrew produced mouthwateringly delicious food and there was a wide range of evening activities.

A wonderful week of mosaicing in Moclìn!
I’ve just spent the most amazing week on this mosaic course, and I am already longing to go back! The whole experience was just lovely- a stunning location, great accommodation with fantastic views from my room, wonderful food prepared and cooked for us by our lovely hosts Ian and Andrew, who were kind, welcoming and attentive - nothing was too much trouble. We were taken for several trips including a visit to Granada for tapas and an evening walk, and to local villages to see craft markets and a guitar concert. Ian and Andrew happily shared their knowledge of the history and local culture, enthusiastically conveying their love of the place. The mosaic course itself was wonderful - thanks to my fellow students, and our wonderful teacher Linda who was kind, patient, funny, talented and hardworking. In addition to creating a small mosaic to take home, we also created a group mosaic which is now permanently installed on a wall in the village as a contribution to the local community. It was nice that the course was running concurrently with an acrylic landscape painting course, so we were able to share our experiences with others. I would highly recommend - a truly magical, relaxing , creative week with lovely people in a beautiful place - thanks to everyone involved!

Awesome creative cultural week in Moclin
Can't recommend this experience enough! This is the first time I've tried a holiday like this, so was unsure what to expect. The week flew by so quickly which is always a sign of good times... I had never created a mosaic before and on this trip made my own and contributed towards a group mosaic as a permanent contribution/gift to the local community in Moclin... The week was a delightful blend of creative activities, fun socialising making new friends, listening to wonderful music from local artists, eating DELICIOUS food, walking in the awesome countryside rich in history and archaeology as well as a day out in glorious Granada to see the Alhambra. Cant wait to visit Ian and Andrew again in their hilltop haven! Thanks again guys. x

      The most amazing experience!
I'm still buzzing from the week I spent with GCH learning the flamenco. Every part of it was perfect and it really felt like Andrew and Ian had given the experience a lot of thought. The excursions paired beautifully with what we were learning on the course with the talented Natalia and the addition of a daily singing lesson was an added bonus. The hosts' local knowledge was excellent too, so I felt like I really got to know the area. And the food! Wow! Every meal was delicious and freshly prepared by our hosts. I felt so well looked after and really enjoyed the social element of each mealtime. I travelled on my own, so was expecting I'd probably spend a lot of time alone reading, but everyone was so welcoming and inclusive that I felt like I was there with friends. The performance at the end of the week was the cherry on top. I'd highly recommend one of these holidays and am already saving for my next visit!

      Flamenco in Granada
A great week with a mix of dancing, singing, history, visits to local attractions and performing. Very convivial hosts, excellent catering. Our teacher Natalie was super-patient and accommodating of our individual abilities. Highly recommend.

So much more than a painting holiday
Superbly organised by Ian and Andrew, I spent a great 3-4 days diving into the world of botanical watercolour painting with the very talented artist (and excellent teacher) Jenela Grinberga. The time spent painting was so enjoyable, I felt challenged (just the right amount!) and I learned SO much. My final painting of a fig branch - cut right from the garden, turned out amazing (with Jelena's help of course). A few (other) memorable experiences included a sunset visit to the castle, the many delectable home-made lunches and dinners, an early morning hike around the el Gollizno trail with Andrew, meeting the locals at the village taverna, Ian's upside down apricot and almond cake for "elevensies" and the well-earned post-class G'n'T on the terrasse! Thanks so much for this wonderful experience - I'll be back!

Learnt lots, superb accommodation, fabulous location
Stunningly beautiful location - olive groves, a castle, a quiet village. Saw a black squirrel, an eagle and a wild goat. Andalusian cookery course was taught by expert chef Carlos Sanchez. Picked up lots of cooking hints and tips for wider range of cooking too. Fun social evenings - we mixed with the Book Creation class, also being run there, led by the wonderful children's illustrator James Mayhew and Andrew Watson, so the evenings and the free time in Granada itself were also great fun. This was my second stay here and both times my room was fabulous - beautifully tiled bathroom etc. I definitely recommend both the accommodation itself and the cultural holidays.

      Painting course review
I absolutely loved the week long painting course with Granada Cultural Holidays. The communication and logistic planning beforehand was clear, professional, friendly, and helpful. The accommodations very spacious, clean, and overlooked mountains and olive groves. The town of Moclín is charming and welcoming. The meals far exceeded my expectations. I loved trying so much local cuisine, all made fresh. The course sessions were spectacular. Granada Cultural Holidays found a superstar of a tutor! In addition, there were many local activities and outings available provided by Granada Cultural Holidays. This trip was the highlight of my year! I highly recommend Granada Cultural Holidays.

      Magical
What a wonderful find. I enrolled on the Botanical Watercolour course, which was beyond my wildest dreams. Put that in the mix with a unique and wonderful location, superb food cooked by extremely knowledgeable, friendly, entrepreneurial fun loving hosts what's not to love. My stay was cut short for personal reasons but I feel the need to return to complete the whole experience an absolute must. The time in Moclin was amazing on so many levels. Thank you guys x

      A Perfect Artist's Getaway
I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Granada Cultural Holidays. I went for a watercolor workshop with Jess Sheperd, who is an incredible artist and teacher. Our hosts, Ian and Andrew, are kind, hilarious, welcoming, *excellent* chefs, and deeply committed to integrating their workshops with the communities of Moclin and Granada. I fully anticipated going to paint all day every day, which would have also been lovely, but instead we were also encouraged to hike up to Moclin Castle and explore the ruins ("we'll just borrow the key to the castle from the Mayor"), to go down into the countryside to see Neolithic cave paintings (!!) and taken into Granada to see hidden gardens and eat incredible food. If you have the chance, please treat yourself to a Granada Cultural Holiday. I flew home feeling that I'd made friends for life, and I can't wait to go back.

      Superb course in stunning location
So my second time on this fabulous Andalusian cooking course. It was just as wonderful as the first time. We had a change of chef this time who was so much fun and showed us how to prepare Andalusian classics like Albondigas, fish soup, croquetas , tortilla as well as dishes with salt cod and dog fish. All levels of ability were present and Carlos guided us all through the preparation easily. The recipes seemed simple but the difference was really in the flavours he helped us create which were intense and robust. We had a wonderful trip to Granada for a trip to a market and lunch as well as preparing tapas for the village alongside wine tasting. Ian and Andrew are sublime hosts, the views in Moclin are breathtaking and the course beautifully planned. After two visits it feels a little like home from home, a safe haven and escape from daily life.

Touring the Moclin Castle tour with Ian and Andrew was one of the highlights of our trip. Ian's historical background on the Castle and Andrew's details on the village history gave us so much more appreciation of the importance of the Castle. Their love of the area makes the tour personal; I'd highly recommend it.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We really enjoyed showing you around the village; it's particularly enjoyable when guests have an acute interest in history. We hope to see you back in Moclín soon!
