I have been eyeing on the South Downs Way for such a long time. I had a great day thanks to Colin @ Hassocks Community Cycle Hire.
I feel like lottery waiting for what bike I'm going to ride. Colin prepared a large size Orbea hard-tail, which was fantastic with confidence building Kenda tyre.
A repair kit, pump and tyre are all provided for. Paper map from the shop is useful when things don't work as planned (GPS crash, phone battery died).
Next time I'll come by train because the centre is right in front of the station.

We had a fab day out on these bikes during our stay in the beautiful local area. So handy that its right next to the station so we could get straight on the train. Colin was great and made it easy to arrange collecting and dropping off the bikes, as well as helping plan our routes and giving us recommendations. The bikes themselves are top-notch too !
Would HIGHLY recommend renting bikes for a local stay from these guys!

My husband and I had a fantastic New Year’s Day riding on the South Downs. I can highly recommend hassocks community bike hire. Colin was quick to respond to emails and very accommodating opening up for us on New Year’s Day. He helped us out with route planning and made sure we had everything we need.

Excellent friendly service very responsive to our timings and needs, good advice on trails. The bikes were perfect for our needs and the prices very reasonable- the family rate particularly welcome! Great selection of routes in the Hassocks area- including some technical stuff, gravel roads, small lanes with pretty villages and of course the bridleways on the Downs.
