      Best day in Miyajima!
Our day at Okeiko was wonderful. The entire experience from beginning to the end was amazing. The team were extremely welcoming and kind and made us feel really comfortable. They guided through every step of each activity and shared their beautiful culture. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Would definitely do it again. Such a beautiful way to discover traditional Japanese culture. Cannot recommend this place enough!

I had so much fun dressing in a kimono, posing for pictures and then being a part of the tea ceremony. The staff were helpful and friendly.

      Nice traditional experience
Nice experience of wearing a traditional kimono (colour of our own choice) and seeing and practicing a tea ceremony ourselves. Includes enough opportunity to have our own photoshoot.

      Amazing family experience!
We went here as a family with our two teenagers in Sept.2023. The tour starts off with changing into the kimonos, you can select the color of the kimono and belt which is nice. Then we took many pictures outside in the beautiful gardens in various poses. Next is the tea ceremony where we get a nice chocolate and some sweets. We also got to make our own tea, where you learn about the traditions and how to hold the tea cup, the utensils used etc.. The guides were all fabulous and very friendly. They also gave out a nice origami souvenier at the end. I would highly recommend this cultural experience if you are ever in Miyajima!

      Simply wonderful
If we could give a thousand stars, we would :) We had soooo much fun. The ladies who guided us were super friendly, both in Jpanese and English. They are professional and kind. The activities we booked (Kimono, amulet, tea ceremony, and calligraphy) were really fun. If you want a taste of Japan in a short time and a beautiful setting, this is something for you!

      An afternoon of culture
A little tricky to find, but well worth the effort. My son and I had a wonderful time dressing in kimonos and practicing calligraphy. The ladies there were so warm and welcoming.

Very sweet staff and a memorable experience
Everything about this activity was absolutely perfect. We had an amazing time learning how to write kanji and making our lucky charms. The tea ceremony was also very interesting to watch, such attention to detail in every step. Being able to dress up in kimonos made this whole experience extra special and the photos and videos taken will be forever cherished, what a fantastic time!

I had an amazing day in Miyajima! I started the day off hiking up the mountain and then spending the afternoon at the old temple. Wow, you get it all in one day with a great setting.
The ladies at the temple, were funny, kind and spoke great English. We started off with dressing up and taking pictures (they sent more than 30 pictures). We continued with Calligraphy and finished with the tea ceremony. They took all the activities in the most professional manner, yet they were light and funny. The tea ceremony was very interesting and I really appreciated that. Given the many places to join a tea ceremony, I think this is pretty much the best place to do so.

Most memorable experience for my niece and me. Noriko-San shared our excitement as they helped us choose our kimonos and dressed us. They also patiently took lots of photos for us and let us take our time in the garden so we could take hundreds more! Highly recommended for girls of all ages!

We had an amazing time here with kimono tryon, tea cermony and calligraphy! The staff were very friendly, patient and helpful. They also took many beautiful pictures and videos of us, and encouraged us to do the same. This was one of the best experiences we had on our trip to Japan.

Our group did the kimono, tea ceremony and calligraphy workshop and had the most wonderful experience. The people were so friendly, patient and lovely and they explained the tea ceremony and the calligraphy process really well. We booked through Klook and there were no issues, it all worked seamlessly. We had a wonderful time and it was worth coming to Miyajima to experience this!

We were three guys going here on our holiday trip and were wondering if this would be kind of awkward. The two lovely ladies who worked there put our worries to shame. Everything was done at a perfect pace and with the right mixture of dignity and fun. Everything went along at a good pace, which let us try out caligraphy and a mini tea ceremony without rushing through and without getting bored. The staff took photos, both with their own camera and with our phone cameras. We got to take home our works of caligraphy art, as well as plenty of photos and good memories. We felt we got a unique insight into some japanese traditions, with some intersting backstory and information. We were the only ones there, so the attention was on us all the time, which was also nice.

We had a most wonderful and enjoyable experience today dressing up in kimono and participating in tea ceremony and calligraphy lesson. I loved the kind staff, very patient and friendly and always making sure we were enjoying ourselves. Taking photos in the garden was fun and left us with great memories. Tea ceremony was lovely and calligraphy lesson was also very nice (you get to take your work home as a souvenir). The whole place is a bit out from the touristy hustle bustle, so feels authentic and pleasant. The ladies who were there today truly made us feel like their special guests. The booking process online was easy and efficient. The photos taken by staff were sent to me already the same day. I visited with 2 teen sons (usually not so easy to please) and they also had a blast.

We had a magical time dressing in beautiful Kimonos and adorning our hair with accessories. The result was absolutely stunning as we had photos taken in their beautiful Japanese garden. We learned so much about the tea ceremony including the making of Matcha tea. The calligraphy was wonderful and the result will look lovely framed. I bought a beautiful summer Kimono and Obi there as well! This was the most magical Japanese experience and not to be missed!!

This experience was one of my top favorites during my trip to Japan. Our three hostesses were very kind and welcoming (And they spoke English too). They helped dress us in the beautiful kimonos that we had chosen and they had hair accessories to complete our looks. After a photo shoot in the garden, we participated in a tea ceremony. Matcha tea, yum! The calligraphy lesson was fun too. We practiced how to paint Chinese characters and also write our names in Japanese. Overall, we had a great time and really loved every moment at okeiko Japan!

There is no better place to experience all 3 of these staples of Japanese culture - Kimono, Tea Ceremony and Calligraphy. Honestly, when researching places to do these, I thought Okeiko was too good to be true but it exceeded expectations. Rather than prancing around with an expensive-to-hire Kimono in order to take pictures in touristy spots, my boyfriend and I got to enjoy our Kimono's during our activities and really appreciate their loveliness. The staff were super informative and the lady who led our tea ceremony was very careful in explaining the meaning behind this ritual. It was truly a worthwhile experience conducted in a secluded spot that made it all the more amazing - even if it turns out I am useless with a calligraphy brush!

We were a family of four (with kids aged 11 and 10) and we did the calligraphy and tea ceremony class. We all loved the experience! We started by getting dressed into traditional kimonos and yukatas, and then learned how to write traditional kanji (letters) as well as our name. Following that, we participated in the tea ceremony. The women leading the class did a truly amazing job keeping it interesting to both adults and kids alike. Thanks so much!
