The largest of three airports servicing the Baltimore-Washington, DC, area, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is located about 10 miles south of Baltimore and 32 miles northeast of Washington, DC. About a dozen airlines fly to the airport, including Southwest Airlines, which has designated BWI as a focus city. Passengers can fly non-stop from BWI to destinations across the United States, as well as points in Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe. In 2014, the airport handled almost 22.5 million passengers. Ground transportation options at BWI include taxis, buses, shuttles and train service. Rental cars are also available, and more than 10 car rental companies can be found at the airport's Car Rental Facility. Other passenger amenities include retail shops, restaurants, ATMs, a USO, a pet relief area and a children's play area.
