I flew on Boeing 787-8 for the first time. I had requested seat 2B, but 1C was allocated for me, as I bought this ticket as a Qantas frequent flyer. As it was right behind the kitchen, it was quite noisy. They didn’t provide a glass of drink before taking off and no bottled water was given to us. So...

First time on JAL, I was on a late flight (past midnight) but was hungry since dinner was some time ago but there was not meal service as I think the airline feels that everyone would want to sleep at such a time. OK, I tried to sleep too...drinks were served on a tray before they turn the lights off....

I received a free upgrade to Business Class. It was really nice. The seat is comfy. I recommend ordering the Japanese meals. The bed is an angled-flat bed, but I was still able to sleep. The tv programs are limited though for English speakers. I recommend bringing an iPad with your own movies.

The smiles on the faces of the flight attendants cannot hide the contempt they have for their customers. I'd rather just be treated badly than to have someone fake like they care about my comfort. During the meal service I was giving the wrong meal. I pointed this out to my flight attendant (seat 50K) . She smiled at me...

In typical Japanese fashion the service and interaction with all JAL employees was without flaw. The flights to and from Tokyo departed on-time, the flight arriving in NRT was deplaned onto the tarmac which is a rare these days and a bit of a pleasure for those that enjoy aircraft as I do. The only complaints that I really have...

Great simple check in, no hassles about cabin bags, when they x-ray your bag before checking in security check staff will help with lifting on and off, planes clean and comfortable and both boarding and getting off are super fast. Wonderful polite and helpful staff, and even the ground crews bow when you depart and arrive, good manner still exist...

JAL leaves nothing to be desired. They have covered every inch to enjoy a long flight. My husband and I live in the US and visited Japan for my husband's first time. The trip was very enjoyable and a large part was due to the wonderful treatment from JAL. They have slippers/eye masks/toothbrushes/blankets/pillows/gaming/delicious food/eye refreshener/hot towels/alcohol/hot tea and on and...

Very happy to recommend JAL in view of our current flight from Sydney to Narita. The version of 787 we flew on had a 2 4 2 seating configuration which seems to give heaps more room than the 3 3 3 configuration. The food was good, if a little too much too regularly. Staff were friendly helpful and attentive and...

You can expect good swervice on JAL and this flight was no exception. The aircraft was a new Boeing 787 so it was as comfortable as they get.The food service fro and tow Sydney is not up to the standard you can expect if you are flying from Narita to Europe or the US where competition is tougher (Qantas does...
