My initial flight from MDE to PTY was delayed for more than an hour. I asked the agents if I’m going to make my connecting flight and they said that I will. Upon arrival in PTY, they tell customers with connecting flights to certain cities to go to another gate where we stood in line for 20 minutes only to get a boarding pass for another for the next day at the same time! Mind you, my flight isn’t until 6:30 pm in the evening! I have to stay in the airport for 24 hours! Had they not redirect us to the other gate, I had 20 minutes to get to my next gate till they close the doors! They literally planned to hold us off so we miss our flights and just rebook us for tomorrow knowing that they won’t be held liable. Here’s the kicker! I went to their customer service desk and they said there’s nothing they can do for me but wait 24 hours till my next flight! Because my flight to my city only happens once a day! Their excuse is that because the airport had organizational issues with planes and gate assignment, that’s why my flight was delayed in MDE. Their corporate side said because it was an airport issue and not an airline issue, they can’t compensate me for anything! Which is ridiculous! Most airlines will give vouchers but not this airlines! Not even a voucher. The fact that I have to stay here for 24 hours till my next flight, I missed my class. If they can delay my initial flight, they can hold my connecting flight for 10-15 minutes so we can make it. Copa airlines is horrible and should be ashamed of themselves! By far the worst airline and experience ever! The fact that they’re part of star alliance is unbelievable! The quality of service and handling of the situation doesn’t present it. I’ll never fly copa or recommend people to fly it! I’ve had better service, compassion, customer concern with spirit airlines than this POS company called copa airlines!…
