We traveled on August 1st from Paros to Athens at 4pm. We decided to travel by plane, instead of ferry, since we had a flight at 8:15 p.m. to Madrid. We paid €150 per person (the most expensive rate) since we were traveling with a large suitcase. We checked two suitcases, one large and one small. When we arrived at the Athens airport, our large suitcase did not arrive (the small one did)... When we asked a person at the airport, she told us that it is normal since due to the weight of the plane they always leave suitcases at the airport!! We made the claim after a long line and a service that gave us 0 confidence (where they confirmed us many times that the suitcase was not going to arrive that day). Frustrated we left but first we decided to go through all the baggage lanes to take a final look.... and there was our suitcase in baggage claim 12 (our lane was number 4)!!! Apparently they put it on a later plane and no one notified us. Not only that, but they changed the label. The sticker with the bar code (tracking number) we had on our plane ticket was totally different from the one on the suitcase!! That's why they couldn't locate It. Luckily we had a happy ending but if we had left we would never have found the suitcase since we made the claim with a code ( tracking number) that had nothing to do with the one they put on the suitcase. Recommendation: Better ferry than plane if you have a suitcase!!! If you still decide to travel by plane, ask and make sure that the suitcase arrives and that the ticket code matches the one on the suitcase!! incredible but true!!…
