I stayed in one of the Secret Cottages and it was fabulous. The cottages are very charming. The hosts had provided every amenity that a guest could want, including a picher of filtered water and a large variety of snacks. The hosts were amazing. Whatever you needed, whether it was a request to check in early or a bottle of Kleenex in the middle of the afternoon, they were on it.

We stayed 4 nights in cottage #3 and loved it! The cottage and surrounding property is just very relaxing. I loved how our cottage seemed a little more private than the others as it's entrance is hidden and it had a little porch area as well as an outdoor private patio. We loved the ability to walk to the local restaurants and market and saloon. Housekeeping and management were very attentive and the room was very relaxing. It was a great place to come back to after a busy day of exploring the local area and wineries.

My stay at the Glen Ellen Inn was invigorating and reviving and much needed after a very hard week at work. I won't go into the work details, but the Glen Ellen Inn was the perfect respite. The room was beautiful, well decorated and cozy (in a large warm, comfy, relaxing kind of way), and clean. You could tell such great love was put into the little details to give us a heart felt experience. Our room overlooked Sonoma Creek and a cute little stone bridge. We had a beautiful private garden that allowed us some time in nature and we were able to enjoy a glass of wine and reflect on our day out. We also had a beautiful in room spa that comforted us after our long cold morning of Zip Lining at Sonoma Zip lining Adventures (amazing experience ask for Brady and Kirsten they were awesome). The bed and pillows welcomed us and we slept so peacefully. The inn is perfectly situated in the town of Glen Ellen, a place I'd never heard of and honestly thought would not be the highlight of our visit given Sonoma is minutes away, but it was a place that dazzled us in so many ways and we ended up spending most of our time there. Home to Jack London, we visited a few amazing places including the Jack London Saloon and Lodge, the Michelin star restaurant called the Glen Ellen Star (It was literally next door to the Glen Ellen Inn), Garden Court Cafe, Sonoma Zip-lining Adventures (about 50 minutes away), Yeti Restaurant (Indian Food), Les Pascals Patisserie and Boulangerie, Tips Roadside for brunch (Kenwood), Walt wine tasting room (Sonoma Plaza, partner to Hall winery in St. Helena), Sonoma Mission, Harvey's Donut Bar (Sonoma Plaza), Prohibition Spirits Distillery (Sonoma Plaza), and Murthy's Irish Pub (Sonoma Plaza)....because you have to visit an Irish Pub wherever you go;). I honestly couldn't thank Karen and Chris more and I am looking forward to coming back and enjoying their cottages and Bar once it reopens. Karen and Chris, thank you so much for the stay and for the thoughtful touches and recommendations. Hope to see you again soon.

Glen Ellen Inn is a charming well located gem with very reasonable rates and outstanding hospitality. We stayed 3 nights to kick off our 25th wedding anniversary vacation and it could not have been a better start. Check in was smooth. We were in cottage 6- it is less private kind of in the middle which we were a bit concerned about but it was totally fine- when I return I will try to book 3, 4 or 5 as they back up to the river and their entrances are more private. The host is lovely we had new treat basket every day. You can walk to a couple of great restaurants - Glen Ellen Star and The Fig Cafe. We used it as a jumping off point for a couple northern wineries- Paul Hobbs and Jordan. Highly recommend.

Stumbled across this place at the last minute: serendipity has a habit of paying dividends. Whilst Covid has put a temporary stop to the Martini Bar and Restaurant, the Cottages are getting all the attention from the owners Karen and Chris. We stayed in cottage #6, which came with a jacuzzi bath, steam shower, fireplace, comfortable bed, nice seating area indoors and on the patio. It was just what we needed to get three nights of relaxing downtime. Check in and check out were very easy. Karen, the owner (and it seems housekeeper) was super responsive and was extra helpful in helping me sort out the mess I made of booking via AirBnb. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she was engaging to chat with. Not only are the cottages charming, they are very well located within two or three minutes walk of good restaurants, the Jack London pub, the superb Les Pascals French patisserie, and wine tasting rooms like Wine Snob. As a bonus, there is private parking with a space for every cottage. In a non-drought year you could also sit in the communal seating and relaxation area by the Sonoma Creek that runs to the rear of the property. In these times you may spot wildlife such as deer wandering around looking to drink from the pools of water. I can see this becoming our go to place when visiting the Sonoma Valley. Highly recommend!

Only got to stay one night, but found my cottage large and comfortable, the entire experience enhanced by my proximity to the babbling brook in the rear of the property (recommend Cottage #5). I've never understood the jacuzzi in the room but it's there if you want it. Shower was nice and large. Best of all, their restaurant is steps away (along with their martini bar). There are a couple of grocery stores nearby (one giant gourmet thing), and a French bakery too. Had a problem with the t.v.; called the main number and someone showed up within minutes to fix it (even the chef showed up to help!).

Setting and town are charming. However, the cottage was missing some attention to detail regarding housekeeping. When we checked in, a a half-drunk water bottle had been left in the fridge. There were long hairs (obviously not ours) all over the floor and bathroom (even after two days of housekeeping). And worst: a MASSIVE ant problem—a bathroom shelf teeming with ants no matter how many we killed, not to mention ants found other places around the room. Otherwise, cottage was cute but there is no place to put luggage and extremely limited space for hanging clothes.

Whist travelling the wine country we found this little Inn. The cottages are truly lovely but rather mid range and not as "luxurious" as the description may read. However, fair value. Our stay unfortunately was negatively influenced by the PG&E power shutoff which left us I the dark and without aircon in the middle of the night. Without a flashlight this was a bit of a problem... Bed is ok. I definitely would recommend the cottages at the end (no 5) as they are at the river and away from the parking lot. The restaurant is nice, although the menu has its limitations. Wine selection of local area wines is very good. Glen Ellen overall is a bit of a disappointment as we had hoped to have more of charm and venues to walk to. However, the town is centrally located in Sonoma valley and thus you can see a lot when overnighting there.
