Outer Banks Vacation Rentals

Want to experience a bit of untamed coastline? You can’t beat North Carolina’s breathtaking 200-mile stretch of barrier islands known as the Outer Banks. To make the most of your time here, you should consider an Outer Banks vacation rental instead of a hotel. Why? You’ll feel more like you are at home in a cozy bungalow or large beach house. Many come with a large porch, which provide excellent times of refreshment after an invigorating day exploring the many historical and recreational sites. Whatever type of rental you choose, we’ll help you find a great deal on your Outer Banks vacation rental, and give you plenty of unbiased user reviews so you can book your stay worry-free.

Outer Banks Attractions

It’s helpful to know when choosing a location that locals commonly divide the area into three main sections: the Northern Beaches, consisting of Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head; Hatteras Island, consisting of Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras; and Roanoke Island, consisting of Manteo and Wanchese. Wherever you stay, a vacation rental makes it so much easier to experience more of the Outer Banks.

Family Vacations on the Outer Banks

There’s a world-class mix of historic exploration and outdoor recreation and relaxation for all ages on the Outer Banks. Take the kids to charming Manteo and they’ll see some amazing historical spots. This small town surrounds the Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, a national park protecting the place where the English tried to establish their first American colony. (We’re talking pre-Plymouth and pre-Jamestown.) You’ll want to take in the 70-plus-year-old waterside theater production of “The Lost Colony” in Manteo, too. At Kill Devil Hills you and your family will love visiting the site of the Wright Brothers’ famous first flight. And everyone gets a kick out of the diverse and picturesque lighthouses that rise up along the Outer Banks. One of the most famous lighthouses anywhere is the black-and-white-striped Hatteras lighthouse, part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Spend time close by with a vacation cottage or bungalow on Hatteras.

Adventure Awaits

Opportunities for surfing, boating, fishing and more can also be found along these barrier islands. You can also find less organic activities, such as miniature golf. Oh, and the food? Local and out-of-this world seafood options abound. Whether you want to rent a large house with an ocean view or a smaller, quaint cottage a few blocks inland, you want to get a good deal on it. We have special deals and discounts on Outer Banks vacation rentals in every price range.
