writer, traveller, avid snorkeller with marine biology degree... bit of a misanthrope (present company always excluded) though fascinated by ancient cultures, folk tales, where mysticism meets science, anthropology... holidays generally spent looking for that next angelfish, manta-sighting, mouse lemur, lizard, pristine reef, away from the crowds with a good seafood curry and a glass of stout to round out the day, if poss... like to get off the beaten track, happy to rough it when necessary-- as long as the wife gets a shower and a clean, bugless bed at the end of the adventure... appreciate a sharp, honest guide but, like, no bloody tour groups please! namaste & mahalo
