50-64 year old male

Brooklyn, NY

Although I was born in the Bronx, and was raised in the burbs, my heart is in Brooklyn. When I first moved into Park Slope 30 years ago taxis wouldn't come here. There were abandoned buildings on my block, and Brooklyn still radiated danger. I've witnessed what can only be described as a Renaissance, not only for Brooklyn, but for the entire city. We have rejuvenated our spirit as well as our neighborhoods. As a Big Apple Greeter, I love showing people the side of the city that isn't found in your Fodors. Strange streets in Vinegar Hill, art galleries in DUMBO and quiet corners of Prospect Park. I've walked or biked the Brooklyn Bridge hundreds of time, and still get a kick out of it. As impressive as the neighborhoods, monuments and architecture are, my favorite thing about NYC is its diversity. We come from all over the world, bringing our languages, culture, and best of all, our food. We are fast, opinionated, and occasionally snarky. We are New York. Welcome !
