Since Nov 2006

65+ year old male

Edinburgh, United Kingdom

I am now a RETIRED Food Packaging Design Engineer and Business Systems Mgr, so hopefully have more time to travel, although I might not have the money to do it! We don't follow the herd and if we are on a tour, are hell for the tour guide as we say no to the "optional" tours and do our own thing. We have more fun that way and see the country from other than thro' the words of a guide. We visit the less civilised parts of the world, as you will see from a glance at my Travel Map. Egypt is so big, I doubt if anyone can claim to have seen it all, but we are still trying to fill in the gaps of the historic sites along the length of the Nile. Been to Luxor 10 times in last 5 yrs (up to 2009) but do not try to turn it into Britain with sunshine. We do NOT frequent English pubs, restaurants or supermarkets when in Egypt - Might as well stay at home and get a sun-lamp - it would be cheaper All my pictures are at http://www.flickr.com/photos/elaref/collections/ in various named folders.
