I stayed here in January and whilst the hotel was clean and we enjoyed our stay, the reason for the poor review is the additional charge of $512 they tried to charge my credit card after I checked out. Luckily as I didn't respond to the message off my bank as I was in the air flying home, they declined it. I contacted immediately via their FB page and was told to email NYCTS_FO@Hilton.com which took 3 months and plenty of chasing to even get a reply. I was fobbed off with them saying the company the hotel was booked through by the travel company had their card declined. Surely the room was paid for before i arrived otherwise wouldn't have been allowed to stay, and if it wasn't paid for on checkout why was I able to leave ???? Beware of unauthorised transactions by this hotel, and others from what I've read!

A fun hotel located near Times Square in New York that was conveniently located to so many things to see and do! We enjoyed our stay and found the room to be large, comfortable, and very clean. We chose to stay in this hotel the night before going on a cruise and it was conveniently located across the street from a Target store, which was handy for picking up some supplies for our cruise. We were not expecting to be charged for a credit for the food market in the lobby, which I would contest if we stayed there again.

Stayed 2 nights February 26th to 28th Booked through 3rd party with company cc and upon arrival used personal cc for deposit and resort fees. First night after dining at the bar started receiving a charge for 200 which was promptly declined. (Mind you the original deposit is showing pending, spent 10$ over resort credit ) Went to front desk and they recognized the mistake and said would get everything sorted out. 2nd night exact same scenario but they were trying to charge 100.(didn’t spend over resort credit to avoid same problem as previous night) Went straight to front desk and they directed me to bar manager who in turn got the front desk manager who proceeded to argue with me in the middle of dining area that my card is no good and that i needed to give them a card to use. My argument back was that they had my card number already as there was already a hold for deposit/resort fee. So to stop them from calling my room phone I retrieved my cc from room. By the time I got back the bar manager had seen the mistake and advised shift mgr that indeed it was their fault. Regardless to say the front desk mgr never bothered to come back out to apologize for embarrassment & inconvenience. Called in 28th to question the 180$ pending deposit that had turned into a charge, was told that a refund of 90 is sent and will appear in 3-5 days. It’s now according to receipt 8 days and no refund of deposit. Called 3/8 and waited 40 min on hold to be told oh we sent refund on the 4th so wait a few more days… somehow I get the feeling it won’t show up, update pending…

I didn’t expect too much, but my stay was very enjoyable. Perfect location on 42nd. Close to Times Square and public transport. My room was on the 40th floor with a fantastic view: Empire State Building and in the distance I could even see the Statue of Liberty. The room was very big for New York means and no noise from outside. King bed, extra couch (probably sofa bed). The resort fee of $35 can be used at The Market. Not the cheapest, but the two men who assist you are the best! Of course there are some imperfections, but they didn’t bother me at all. More pros than cons. Overall, I can recommend The Hilton Times Square.
