My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel in April and really enjoyed our time at this hotel. The Mansfield has a touch of class and is small enough to have the personal touch. The room was not as small as we had feared from other reviews although the air conditioner was rather loud and the doors to the bathroom were strange wardrobe doors with a big gap between them - our view was of a brick wall 10 metres away. These were just minor issues and the overwhelming memory was of an excellent stay with a location ideal between Times Square and Fifth Avenue - if this is your first time in New York I would recommend the Mansfield, everything is within 10 minutes. « less

Checked in early around 10:30 a.m., given room immediately by friendly front desk staff. Chambre petite bargain (hotwire) looked exactly like hotel photos. Bath amenities and lighting were fantastic. Lighting in room okay (not a big fan of spot lighting.) Room temp. comfortable. Stayed on 2nd floor, didn't notice any noise. Slept like a dream! Plan to return in March with my mom. « less

Outstanding little boutique hotel in the heart of Manhattan. Front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. Wonderful little cocktail bar/restaurant with a very relaxing yet sophisticated literary leather and cigar vibe. Life's too short and NYC is too big a city to stay in the same place twice but, I'm glad we stayed here once. « less

Location was great. Hotel very clean and staff extremely friendly The room we stayed in was REALLY , REALLY SMALL. Had a very small window which did not open, with a large air vent outside. There was an airconditioner in the window which we had to turn on to cool down the room. Very loud during the night. One night was enough in the room, although the hotel itself is really very nice. We asked for an upgrade to be told none were available. If you stay here definately book a suite!! « less

Stayed here just one night in a Chamber Queen room. The hotel is very old, but well kept and has a definite charm about it. However the room we had was so small, by any standards. I would say under 110 sq. ft. You had to stand sideways at the sink in the bathroom because of the proximity of the toilet. We are not "large" people by any means, but there was absolutely no space in the room other than the bed and about a ft. on the sides and maybe 3 ft. at the foot of it. I did have the opp. to view a suite however which looked very accomodating. Although this was a clean room, nicely appointed and a very politely staffed hotel, do not go for more than a night unless you go Club Suite or better. « less
