My daughter and I will be visiting the dells in August. We are arriving on the train and staying at the Black Hawk motel. Any suggestions on how to get around while we are there? I can't seem to find any car rentals in the Dells, only Baraboo. ... more

... know the Kalahari has car rental -- I've seen the signs in the parking lot. I suspect some of the rental places in Baraboo might deliver the car to you and pick it up. There are a couple of taxi companies in the Dells, but I would not plan my vacation around their ... more

... some outdoor waterparks have wetsuit rental available. Might be an option. I've been to the Dells in late May when it's been 80 and wonderful and also when it's been 50 and miserable. There really are no guarantees. One other thought - some facilities may have reduced hours ... more

You might try vacation rental by owner sites such as VRBO; of the three cities you listed, Minocqua appeared to have the most 2-4 people VRBO.com listings. We had a decent experience at our cabin at West Bay Camping Resort a couple years ago... they have 4 cabins ... more

Has anyone stayed at Spring Brook? This place looks huge, many rental houses, several pools, etc., but there is nothing on this site at all. It seems similar to Christmas Mountain but not sure. I would like to get some feedback before I book. ... more

... just expanded this summer... I've been to the restaurant and bar there a few times. Beer is wonderfully cold, food has been mixed. Service above average. Place looks very nice, but I have not been inside any of the rental units. Seems a lot less busy than Christmas Mtn ... more
