... and we stayed in an apt looking over the marina, had balcony to sit on and have wine in the evenings, restaurants were steps away and the food was so good!! We had a rental car and drove the Adriatic coast to Dubrovnik. we would return to Rovinj/Istria definitely ... more

Opatija is all right for your plans but I would stay in Rovinj or even San Rocco in Brtonigla. For your itinerary, a car rental would be best for at least few days. ... more

If you take the apartment in old town you'll have to pay extra for the parking (6kn/h). I advise you to take the apartment just outside the old town, they are cheaper, not so distant and they have their own parking area . ... more
