    Rental Home –
    3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 5
Built in 1248, this three storey house has been lovingly restored by the current owners, two English speaking journalists from Milan. Antonia and Giovanni have created an apartment of their own on the ground floor, so they are on hand should you need them, though never intrusive if you don't! La Casa Dipinta has its own, independent front door, then there's a set of ancient stone stairs take you up to the first floor and on into the formal sitting room. This is a truly unique sitting room - a world away from your average holiday home! Of course, you may prefer to carry on up to the top of the house to the informal sitting room if you want to lounge in front of the TV. But if there's a classical concert going on in the little piazza in front of La Casa Dipinta (and in summer the... more

This house is exquisite and the village is a gem. We traveled with our three teenagers and they all loved being in "our" Tuscan village for a week. It was great to be off the beaten tourist track at the end of the day, and just enjoy the beautiful views and the village. There were amazing restaurants 5 minutes walking from the house! The beds were awesome, and everyone was in love with the house. Totally comfortable - there are lots of stairs, so be prepared to climb! We loved the workout. Looking out over the Piazza was a treat.

La Casa Dipinta is a lovely, quirky property in the medieval hilltop Tuscan town of Lucignano. It’s amazing interior decor is something which has to be seen to be believed and the owners will happily talk you through the restoration work which was done and show you the intricate detail of this most unique properties.

From the moment you enter the town through the main gates, flanked each side by bars where the newly arrived can sip Prosecco in the shade, you enter another world. Cobbled streets with high buildings either side shield you from the heat of the day while the shops and restaurants tempt you to enter.

The house is found just off the main town square and is set on several levels. It’s facilities are excellent, the kitchen is well provided for and the balcony which leads off the kitchen gives fabulous views of the Chiana valley across to Cortona (a must for the market and town square.) We chose the main bedroom on the 2nd level, this looks out over the...
