    Chalet Description

Our chalet was completed in January 2008.It has the look of the old traditional chalets in the village but was built to a very high specification with luxury fittings and has the benefit of modern building methods including the use of geothermal (environmentally friendly) under floor heating.

The chalet is built on a fairly flat plot with 2 floors and a mezzanine. It is “upside down” with the entrance at the rear at the upper level. This gives the living area a feeling of space with the high roof and maximises the fantastic views of the valley all around the chalet.

We recently returned from a week's holiday at Chalet Anna. We were a party of 8 adults, ranging from our 20s to 60s, plus a baby and found there was plenty of space for us all. The chalet is very well equipped and comfortable and the owner clearly has an eye for detail. The views from the chalet of the green meadows and snow peaked mountains in June are stunning. Most days we walked directly from the chalet and the higher we went, the more spectacular the views. Our walks included some strenuous uphill sections (with the baby in a backpack) but it is possible to plan more gentle routes. It was lovely to return to the chalet at the end of the day and take turns preparing the evening meal in the well equipped kitchen area. We then relaxed in the evening by playing games, listening to music or just chatting and sharing photos from the day between ourselves and with our friends via the internet. We had a couple of trips out - to Grimentz and a longer journey to Zermatt, quite...

Chalet Anna is in a beautiful location with unobstructed views to the head of the valley. It is a recent build and of generally a high standard. The open plan living area is marred by an eccentric and very steep ladder to the mezzanine which obstructs circulation. The seating area is comfortable and was fine for the five of us but would not be adequate for the 8 adults for whom the chalet is designed.
A lovely big kitchen has a plethora of china and cutlery - lots of big pans but no small frying pans and only one small pan - cooking pasta and risotto would be no problem but proper cooking was a challenge with no casseroles or baking tins, no scales or any electrical equipment -not even a hand blender to make soups. With English owners the lack of a coffee machine wasn't surprising but it would have been nice to have had a coffee grinder.
Most surprising was the lack of internet which one expects as standard in up-market chalets and the fact that television is only from the...
