What a beautiful place to stay! La Ferme is fantastically spacious and cool in the hot weather; the outdoor space is tremendous (and inclusive of a badminton net and racquets); and the diving board, of course, is a total hit with young children - though the shallow end is still quite deep so it helps if they're confident in the water. The area couldn't be better with a supermarket at the end of the road and a beautiful market town with a choice of bakeries a few metres further on, and we easily filled a fortnight with things to do: canoeing (Dordogne river is particularly good - 40 miles away but a fab day out); walking; sandy beach at Ruffiac lake (20 mins); Quercyland water park (again 40 miles but worth it); scrambly walks along the Auvezere River (15 mins - a particular favourite); Hautefort Chateau, caves, markets... I totally recommend this as a beautiful and relaxing place to stay that's off the tourist-track and yet within easy reach of so many wonderful things to do.
