Classic Tuscan villa in the gracious hill town of Barga, a lively center of the arts with celebrated jazz and opera festivals, extraordinary restaurants, caffes and shops. The villa is set in a private compound, surrounded by an enormous terrace and walled garden planted in grapes, olives and fruit trees, with stunning views over the Lucca countryside and the marbled Apuan Alps.

Inside, Vicolo del Duomo's terrace level offers a spacious living area with terracotta floors, divided into a comfortably appointed living room, kitchen and dining room. A full bathroom is located off a foyer to the rear. The second story of the house offers three bedrooms, (two double-bedded, one single) and a second full bath. We (my sister and I) enjoyed every moment of our stay in this personable home. Frank, a fascinating historian and our host, is warm, welcoming, and so very helpful. He has wonderful suggestions of where to shop, eat and explore, and made our stay here even more meaningful than we could've ever hoped for. The house is lovely, exuding Italian...
