How many art galleries have rooms for visitors? We count ourselves fortunate to have been able to stay for a week or so in such gracious surroundings, right in the heart of Barga, the little town with such strong Scottish connections.
We occupied the Big Room - which is huge, we didn't fill it! - at the top of the old palace, so there were many steps to climb; but also many resting places, for we were welcome to use any of the large public rooms we passed on the way up. Arriving at the top, we were rewarded by splendid views across Barga to the mountains, but also to the narrow main street below.
Casa Cordati is perfectly situated for those who, like ourselves, are happy to wander at leisure in the streets and alleys of the quaint Old Town.
