A great way to spend a few weeks soaking in Tuscany culture, food and wine. A short (but fairly strenuous) walk from the walled city of Barga. We mixed home cooking in the fully equipped kitchen with dining out in the excellent restaurants in Barga. A supermarket is a short drive away which allowed us to try all the local foods and wine. It was built in 1762 and is situated on a hillside looking across at the walled city of Barga which is situated on the nearby hilltop.. There are two sitting rooms, two bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen was our favorite as we spent many hours there preparing meals, eating and talking.
Back when we were growing up, the kitchen was where everyone congregated. With no TV, sitting around the kitchen table brought back many memories to both of us.
As the owner is a well known painter it was great to have so many of his works on a display - an art show all around you.
